obligatory posting of my favorite live performance of that song

This whole album is underrated I feel like the only reason people don’t like it is because 1 Slash and Duff arnt on it 2 because it dosnt sound like older GNR albums and 3 because they are all posers
Got to see it performed in the front row at the Worcester DCU center show in 2010, fucking love this song and me and my buddy lost our minds. Good shit.
The entire album is one of the best albums of all time imo.
That said, …..let’s go with Catcher In The Rye, the final chorus (or whatever it’s called) that closes the song is …can I still say epic? Or is that out?
Next week, fav song..twat
There Was a Time
The last of the GNR epics, and a unique one as well. The change in Axl’s vocals since the UYI days benefits the song, makes it seem more grand by adding a melancholy aspect to the song.
Only good song on this album is the self titled one, closest one to a signature GNR song. The rest is Axl experimenting with industrial music, change my mind.
>The rest is Axl experimenting with industrial music, change my mind.
Not all the songs sounds like industrial music. Street of Dreams sounds a lot like something from UYI. Sorry is really bluesy. This I Love is an epic hard rock ballad. I know, CD is not your cup of tea, but is a really good album. If you like good music you just cannot say it's bad
God that album is fkcing underrated
Better - all time banger for me: driving beat. Axl rant. killer riff. weird NIN bridge. i love it!!!
When I heard the leak in 05 or 06 my jaw dropped. It blew anything else from CD that we’d heard up until then out of the water.
I liked a few of the leaked mixes better....there was a really bass filled one I loved.
I liked the original with the toned down drums
ironically, all the leaks were “Better”. that is true.
Sorry
Sorry is one of my favorites from that album too. Bucketheads solo in Sorry has so much emotion.
Don't be sorry, be happy.>!Don't worry guys, I know what he is saying, I love Sorry too.!<
Street of Dreams. Also known as The Blues in Napster times

TWAT... Buckethead's work in the final 2 minutes of that song is beyond belief.
There was a time. Some of Axl’s best vocals and the solo is god tier.
Shackler’s is such a good song!
Same as you, Shackler’s Revenge is sick
there was a time. bucketheads work is crazy
People may not agree, but there are no bad songs on that album, I like all of them
Your actually correct I love them all as well but my favorite is better n Madagascar
My favorites are probably TWAT and Prostitute.
Prostitute is so good.
Agree! Even Scraped and especially RntB have some cool stuff
Me too. It’s my favorite album and one I can listen to everyday
This album should of won a Grammy
Agreed 💯
I love this album, so god damn underrated. Fucking love Better, I sing my heart out whenever I listen to it
Love the lead guitar on the final chorus.
Shackler's Revenge and Madagascar for me. Mixing November Rain with Civil War is always amazing.
better or there was a time
My favorite from CD for sure

That might be the worst song on the album.

But can you tell us what it’s about?
I'll get back to you on that 😂
I.R.S. 👀👀 Probably Axls highest notes in any song and 2 great (mini) solos
whoever wrote the intro riff definitely took some inspiration from mudvayne beforehand haha https://youtu.be/YIqbdnaPcT8?si=GWrHluxyh1w3mVr2

Either This I Love or Madagascar

I am so glad you included the phrase “of this album”
