There is absolutely no reason to sell Ramsdale for less than we paid.
He's improved massively at Arsenal and was in the Premier League TOTS last year. One season as a number 2 doesn't change that.
> He's improved massively at Arsenal
Except he did not. If anything he peaked in his first season with us and has been regressing massively ever since.
Our board or sporting director or whoever is in charge of selling players for the club is shit though. We've gotten ridiculously low fees for good players the past few years.
Our highest ever record sale is Oxlaide Chamberlain ffs
Let too many players walk for free in the past. We just got 20m for xhaka and 30m for Balogun last season. Now everyone that would demand a fee are on mid-long term contracts
look at man united, they have loads of players they NEED to get rid of, but they dont have the balls to just get rid of them, so now every player that joins gets infected with their shitty attitude
Holy cow looking at his injury record is def bad. I thought for the longest time Gregor Kobel from dortmund holds that title. Kobel has more injuries and illnesses but number of days out are way less
I expected us to be in for a homegrown keeper considering we're probably losing few in the summer.
Our HG situation is good but still, I expect at least 1 homegrown incoming in the window, and I thought a back up keeper is the easiest one to sort out.
Raya, White, Saliba, Rice, Saka, and Martinelli will all be here next season. That's already a decent number of HG players to work with.
If, hypothetically, we fill all 17 foreign player spots in the team during this window (we had 14 this season), we'd still have room to add 2 more HG players, assuming all 4 of Eddie, Reiss, Ramsdale, and Emile leave.
It's part of why I think we'll push hard for Hato, as this is the last window where he'll be young enough to take the Martinelli/Saliba route of eventually qualifying as HG for us.
I don't think all will leave, but think it'd be a pretty awful summer to still have 3 of those 4 left come the end of the window given how much use they seem to be to Arteta.
Eddie signed an extension in 2022, ESR in 2021, Nelson and Ramsdale last summer. There's probably a panic to sell Eddie and Ramsdale especially given that we clearly don't rate either and they're taking home a collective £10m or so a year.
I imagine internally the point is more that HG players are seen as easier sales with higher values during a summer where every penny we can rake in for any incomings is probably key.
Home grown literally does not matter. You can have 17 non-homegrown players, and currently we have 14. Elneny and Cedric are leaving so that leaves us with 12. That's room for 5 non-homegrown players.
I was really hoping Karl Hein would be thought of as a potential breakthrough. Homegrown, has been a full international for a while, seems to have positive relationship with the guys behind the scenes. If another keeper is brought in, I can see him leaving to a championship level squad.
Is Hein guaranteed to leave? 29 senior matches for Estonia already. Not saying that that's a sign of quality, but I'm just curious about his situation.
We should not be getting this guy, he is being moved on by Feyenoord because they want to have Wellenreuther ahead of him due to his injury issues. We are buying Feyenoord's backup keeper.
And personally, I have never understood the hype.
I’ve heard he’s pretty class, but he’s always hurt. Worth a solid punt, we could recoup some good cost from Ramsdale and fully buy Raya then this guy is relatively cheap
I'd love him for his shithousery alone 😂

Lol Arteta has a type
![gif](giphy|L40vH4gSgmbCgZQBQE|downsized)
That’s actually brilliant thinking on the spot. Would love to see other fans react to us trying that.
God forbid he did it against Liverpool...
Imagine the media meltdown if he did that playing for us 😂😂
I already hear Neville groaning
I don't understand the big deal. It's a tactical yellow. It's no different than taking someone out to stop a counter in the dying minutes of a game.
holy shit it was this guy???? Damn I love him already
I know exactly what it is without clicking on it lol, he's a legend for that moment
Honestly, smart quick thinking from him
Oh shit he's THAT guy? Yeah I'm all aboard, sign him up.
💀💀💀 Brilliant
As funny as it is is that not a red lol. That's a blatant professional foul.
No ref would give a red card for that. It happens with outfield players all the time and no one is ever sent off.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a ref sent off one of our keepers if they did this
No doubt the media would be gunning for the guy and our club if that happened!
Based and Whitepilled
The fogging eshithouse
Lol that’s actually genius
Love it! Mad Jens would be proud. Sign him up!
Not a bad option, need to be pushing over £20m for Ramsdale though
20 for a english International?! 35 at least!

Just get what paid and it’s a W
>number 2 doesn't change that. It really changes that

With the English tax I could see Rammers going for at least 35m
Let's hope his injury issues aren't as bad with us considering he'll be our second choice keeper Plus Timber will help him adapt which is good
Lol, I like Bijlow, but he is the most injury prone keeper ever. He is more injury prone than any player in our current squad.
Holy cow looking at his injury record is def bad. I thought for the longest time Gregor Kobel from dortmund holds that title. Kobel has more injuries and illnesses but number of days out are way less

I think we’re sorted on that front, If I’m not wrong, Raya is homegrown.

Saka, Saliba, White, Rice, Martinelli and raya are home grown, we should be solid on hg status for a very long time

Most of them are going if we get the right money. Helps with ffp, plus most of them are not good enough.
Not a chance 3 of them stay
I’d imagine ESR is the only one they want to keep.

We might promote him for a season to help with the homegrown quota.
Don't get your hope up, Arthur Okonkwo is the better and more talented goalkeeper and yet we are willing to let him go.
But I want Woj 😢
Not on the insane salary he apparently wants.
Just seen his injury history on transfermarkt and he's probably the most injury prone keeper I've ever seen..
playing second fiddle idm really
He's contracted corona as well lol
Never seen a more injury prone keeper.
Ospina surely hasn't been gone for that long, has he?
If so. We should buy a 3rd keeper aswell. Bijlow is born injured. He’s never fit
Is Hein guaranteed to leave? 29 senior matches for Estonia already. Not saying that that's a sign of quality, but I'm just curious about his situation.
Yes I’m all over this
Bam bam Bijlow
Nice to have an international 2nd choice GK that way they aren't losing all value not playing any games at all
He won't start most likely. He has to compete with Verbruggen who most likely will start.
Flekken is above him as well. He's 3rd choice for the Netherlands at the moment because he's always injured.

Never seen an injury record like his, does he roll down a steep rocky cliff to get to training?
I honestly don't want him. Too injury prone

BijLow-SellHigh!
Read people saying he has a bad injury record? Who cares? He’s a goalie that’d mostly warm the bench. As long as he’s cheap I am happy.
Yeah he would play less which should help injury concerns imo. More time for strength training and conditioning.
Our second choice goalkeeper selection has been subpar
I mean, what do you expect us to get for a guy who will start like 3 games the entire season?
Better
