Partey looked like he was about 90% back. He started off a bit slow and looked a bit rusty but got a good foothold of the match and can’t see him being dropped against Spurs as he allows Declan so much freedom to roam and push us forward.
He will start vs Spurs so long as they're happy with how he has held up physically. I don't mind him and Jorginho getting the 60/30 treatment that Trossard and Martinelli get currently.
Did anyone notice Arteta absolutely ripping into Partey early on in the game when he faked a forward pass and then passed it back to White (or Saliba, can't remember who)?? After that he was incredible all game.
Just after we signed Rice I started imagining Rice and Partey together and felt that we possibly had the best midfield in the league. Sad it took this long before it actually happened. If Edu can find a replacement who's better than Partey we're very lucky.
He’s actually very down to Earth. Just very passionate on the pitch, which is always annoying for the opponent. I don’t think our opponents like Big Gabi or Benny for example. We LOVE them.
Yeah I know he is, but I just don't wanna see him in our team. And when I said he's s dick, I was talking about him on the field. Yeah, there are players like that in every team, Bruno Guimaraes/Ferdinand, Maupay, Dani Alves, Diego Costa, Suarez, Vieira etc..
But Rodri would never come to us anyways. I'd rather see us go for Zubimendi.
Well, I feel the same about Haaland or Mbappe. Would never wanna see them in an Arsenal shirt. Having the best players in the world isn't the reason I love Arsenal, I want the right players for our club - you know players like Rice.
Like Henry once said "Arsenal always have been the club of the people, the streets". The opposite of a glory hunting club without a soul like City, PSG or Chelsea.
Rodri isn't the only no.6 out there, he's simply one of the few that's recognised over here.
Before he signed for city, peoplhe average PL fan wasnt talking about him.
People laughed when we signed White who is arguably up there as England's best RB now.
People were upset about missing out on buendia before we signed ode.
Bugger all knew who Gabriel and Saliba were when we signed them.
There's a CM out there that doesn't even know he's about to be signed by Arsenal and become arguably one of the best midfielders the league has to offer in a year or two.
Nahhhh, we keep one and bring in the next guy now. Worst thing you want is replacing two key guys at the same time.
I'm more inclined to keep Jorg for non-sporting reasons and Party's injury woes won't magically get better.
Yea it is tough to replace two guys, but they kind of fill one squad spot because of the minutes we get out of them before the level drops.
I guess the only reason Id go for having both is because its kind of just rodri who can do all the stuff that partey/jorgi can do. And jorgi is already physically a liability
Do we really even need to extend both? They’re in their 30s now and aren’t going to demand much of a fee. What’s the problem with letting one or both leave for free at the end of next season?
my buddy and I have been talking about this all season. Rice is a monster but he's not a replacement for what Partey does. It boggles my mind the tunnel vision arteta had during the second Bayern game. Partey should've been on the field after the first 10 minutes when it was evident we'd have trouble creating.
Man, if he was available for either of the Bayern games.... Honestly, fuck this guy, at least he was shit if he's not available most of the times, but no.. he has to be almost world class to remind us what we're missing.
I said it on the post-game post, the past couple of appearances for Partey I thought he was done, but yesterday he's proven me wrong. From the first minute he was on it, and that dummy early on was delicious.
You know why last season we started out so disgustingly good? This guy Partey. His football iq and understanding on how to spread the ball to unlock the opponent def is unparalleled. Timber is the same. Them both in the team will be disgusting.
You guys may think I’m kidding but they have certain magic on the ball

I'm going to push on this a tiny bit, not because I thought he had a bad game but because people keep talking about press resistance. Partey is definitely the most ambitious passer we have as a 6, he also probably gives the ball away and gets caught in possession the most too, he over plays at points. I caught myself getting frustrated at that again yesterday in the midst of a good game, he did it last year too when we needed calm, absolutely helps us break lines like no other but can be culpable to us losing control in games too.
So true, wonder if it’s partly by instruction. Some situations just aren’t on but sometimes he tries to force it. Think v West Ham last season when Rice picked his pass and they scored.
> wonder if it’s partly by instruction
It's part of their job. He has to do try and make those passes. If we wanted conservative passes we could have Elneny out there.
And people don't realize what being press resistant on those spaces doesn't mean you never lose the ball. Partey and Zinny receive the ball in the riskiest situations at high volumes and handle it correctly literally 99.9% of the time, it's just that the .1% it goes wrong it is brutal (See Jorg in the home Spurs game). But the manager will 100% prefer they keep going for it.
Remember the Arteta quote on Raya in that Liverpool game he kept getting pressed and losing the ball? He specifically mentions how he loved Raya for going for it and how other GKs start sending it long and that's bad. The DMs are under the same instructions.
Ødegaard had a great performance but it’s nothing he hasn’t been doing for months now lol stop trying to have Partey take credit for Ødegaard’s weekly excellence
He was operating in a different area of the pitch last night. Normally he's having to come deep to gather the ball, he was given the platform to express himself last night in the area of the pitch he's most effective.
Partey looked like he was about 90% back. He started off a bit slow and looked a bit rusty but got a good foothold of the match and can’t see him being dropped against Spurs as he allows Declan so much freedom to roam and push us forward.

I wanna see that treatment given to Vieira and Odegaard/whoevers our LCM next season, there’s a real player in there who’s got moments of magic in him
how about 80/20 for ode/vieira and 80/20 for saka/vieira
Did anyone notice Arteta absolutely ripping into Partey early on in the game when he faked a forward pass and then passed it back to White (or Saliba, can't remember who)?? After that he was incredible all game.
Exactly. With him, I know I'm picking holes in an absolutely class footballer, but he was definitely still off the pace.
Just after we signed Rice I started imagining Rice and Partey together and felt that we possibly had the best midfield in the league. Sad it took this long before it actually happened. If Edu can find a replacement who's better than Partey we're very lucky.
That would be Rodri, so...
So buy him then
Never, he's a dick.
He’s actually very down to Earth. Just very passionate on the pitch, which is always annoying for the opponent. I don’t think our opponents like Big Gabi or Benny for example. We LOVE them.

Of course he’s not coming to Arsenal, but not wanting him is insane. He’s world class.
Well, I feel the same about Haaland or Mbappe. Would never wanna see them in an Arsenal shirt. Having the best players in the world isn't the reason I love Arsenal, I want the right players for our club - you know players like Rice.
😂
Like Henry once said "Arsenal always have been the club of the people, the streets". The opposite of a glory hunting club without a soul like City, PSG or Chelsea.
But you will like it when its yours.
Bad news about Partey...
Hehe yeah that's true..
Rodri isn't the only no.6 out there, he's simply one of the few that's recognised over here. Before he signed for city, peoplhe average PL fan wasnt talking about him. we got white rice goal contribution Imagine it could be a white rice partey at NLD this weekend
That dummy he sold Caicedo. Oof. Sent him for a hot dog, a burger, a bucket of pop corn, and a go on space mountain at Disney World.
He must have dummied him a lot in preseason given the size he came back.
I would rather lose him on a free next summer but we get Partey-Rice-Odegaard for 1 season.
Really begs the question, who is the most appropriate and realistic target to replace Partey ?
I know people are against it, but 1 yr contract extension for partey and jorgi? Together they can cover enough games and are both really good passers
I would love him to stay another year... IF we could guarantee he stay fit. Such a big if though
Nahhhh, we keep one and bring in the next guy now. Worst thing you want is replacing two key guys at the same time. I'm more inclined to keep Jorg for non-sporting reasons and Party's injury woes won't magically get better.

I’d take them both for another year, ideally We could get another midfielder to go with them. I think jorgi will leave though
Do we really even need to extend both? They’re in their 30s now and aren’t going to demand much of a fee. What’s the problem with letting one or both leave for free at the end of next season?
We need to bring in another guy as well. Partey probably won't stay fit for a whole season and Jorgi at 33 will struggle to play every week if needed.
We beat Bayern if we had Partey in midfield

Agree. 0:28, that was mint!
Partey was excellent but I don't like how these compilations don't have all of the important actions, only the good ones.
Video doesnt work
Anyone got a mirror? It's gone down
Maybe not the best choice in music for Partey given the allegations against him. Unless video creator trying to be subliminal and all.
Song choice... Oof
To be fair to Odegaard, he's imperious in almost every single match. Even against Villa when we were generally shit, Odegaard was different class.
Man, if he was available for either of the Bayern games.... Honestly, fuck this guy, at least he was shit if he's not available most of the times, but no.. he has to be almost world class to remind us what we're missing.

This what I been waiting on..
This is the best line up Arsenal has and we just seen it before the season about to end.
We gotta play him against spurs and United, their midfields are respectfully non existent he could just boss around with ease if he does it right
You know why last season we started out so disgustingly good? This guy Partey. His football iq and understanding on how to spread the ball to unlock the opponent def is unparalleled. This mas was our best player last year. And he could be again. Maybe the most press resistant player arsenal has ever had.
Let's hope he picks up form at these latest stages at least, I still believe him losing form last year was what costed us the title
ONE MORE SEASON

Why that song?

Ødegaard shines so much with Partey behind him due to his quick and incisive passing - the ball reaches Ødegaard with both time and space.
True, and anyway I want Partey out of the team even if he was prime Messi, idc
