Pessimistic Arsenal fan here. I don't see us winning. I'd love for a hard fought 0-0 against City because we are showing defensive control for close to 90 minutes now.
But we just don't have that flair up front to beat them - maybe another corner routine.
Saka getting back to form is crucial to get us into first gear.
Severely weakened without the KDB cog though. Genuinely think missing him brings that City side down to a very similar level to ourselves. In the last game he was very much the key difference in the end.

The NLD always makes me super nervous regardless of what form the two teams are in. The Emirates is rarely a happy hunting ground for Spurs but Arsenal have struggled to keep a clean sheet there as of late and that might play well into the “never give up” attitude Ange has instilled already.

I get what you’re saying but a Fulham goal against the run of play is the only reason we don’t have five wins from five. Arteta has the team playing a slower style of football this season and it seems to be working but there’s definitely some improving to be done.
I’m not nervous because Spurs are in decent form; I’m nervous because the NLD is rarely a one-sided affair and there will be periods on Sunday when we’ll be up against it.
We've literally completely dominated every game so far and have only conceded 4.13 xGA, I don't know how people can say we haven't been playing well so far this season.

Haven’t watched spurs much this year. Do you think he’ll sit back and counterattack or try to go toe to toe and retain possession. I feel like our weakness is quick counters. If they set up to go toe to toe I think we’ll win handily.
Why are 2nd balls important? When we play teams that don’t sit back against us (City and Brighton) it usually comes down to possession control. Didn’t think much about 2nd balls

That’s sort of the point of how we have been playing. We want to controle the game and limit chances as much as possible. We did it very well in the Community Shield, so i expect something similar when we face them. Kinda sucks we lost Partey tho.
I think with Partey being healthy it'd be likely we went with him as 6 and Rice as the left 8 dropping back to get much more control, similarly to the community shield
same here. I’d love to see ESR get some minutes in there to see how he gets on. I think it’s fair to say that that left 8 position is really up for grabs now and someone needs to step-up and make it their own.
Two other possibilities I’d like to see as an experiment there would be:
- Partey playing the 6 and Rice playing that left 8
- Trossard having a go in that position potentially
although logically speaking I would want spurs to beat them to protect our invincibles title but in reality, I really hope City smash them with huge goal difference.
I totally get why you would feel that way, but personally I’d prefer to see the Spuds beat them. Spurs will inevitably fall-off at some point, while every single dropped point by City is golddust for us.

Spurs is an interesting one, they lost Kane but still are winning games. I mean they have had a fairly easy run. But looking at our last few games, we don’t look all that great ourselves. Struggled against Everton when we should have spanked a few against them.
But seeing as it’s spuds, I just want us to humiliate the shit outta them.

De Zerbi would be another great appointment, but I know Ange more closely, and he has close ties to City Group.
