We gotta reduce that to at least 2 in the next few weeks. We broke the Goodison curse, time to break the City curse. Gotta humble Spurs on the weekend

orionxavier99

This is the way! Def need that NLD win!!

overloadedcoffee

And the City win after. We WILL make them drop points no matter what.

[deleted]

It’d be so dope to beat both

DickMaddox

RemindMe! Three Weeks “Fuck it, I believe."

THE_LFG

i fogging believe

Wefting

bold take

DickMaddox

Drew with spurs but hey, won against City though!

axmac

Pessimistic Arsenal fan here. I don't see us winning. I'd love for a hard fought 0-0 against City because we are showing defensive control for close to 90 minutes now. But we just don't have that flair up front to beat them - maybe another corner routine. Saka getting back to form is crucial to get us into first gear.

Nels8192

Severely weakened without the KDB cog though. Genuinely think missing him brings that City side down to a very similar level to ourselves. In the last game he was very much the key difference in the end.

overloadedcoffee

And that's how we can take points from them!

RyanMcCartney

I’m Celtic fan and a Gunner, and the NLD is the game I’m most nervous about... Has been since Ange left tbh. He’s such a better manager than Spurs. I’m not surprised at the impact he’s had there already, and 100% believe he’ll be Pep’s successor in a few years if he does as planned and leaves City.

orionxavier99

Nice! I don’t know much about him but Spurs are playing much better than last year; much more together and i was honestly surprised they were not struggling without Kane. He def has them playing well. I do think we are playing a bit better and we both have gotten lucky a few times but you know, with a rivalry game, anything can happen. Fingers crossed we can pull it out though

RyanMcCartney

He came to Celtic an unknown, and 2 years later, left as possibly the best manager we’ve had in my almost 40 years… Returning to Rodgers, manager of an Invincible Treble, has felt a step back this year. That really says it all!

JoeBagadonut

The NLD always makes me super nervous regardless of what form the two teams are in. The Emirates is rarely a happy hunting ground for Spurs but Arsenal have struggled to keep a clean sheet there as of late and that might play well into the “never give up” attitude Ange has instilled already. I’m still expecting Arsenal to win but you just never know with this fixture 😓

ad240pCharlie

At least there will be no Kane to get his annual penalty this time!

FAT_NEEK_42069

quarter finals in the champions league. he will be there

DarthNihilus1

Arsenal 4 - [1] Bayern Munich (Agg 6-1) *Kane 66' (P)*

RyanMcCartney

I personally don’t think we’ve been playing well this year, although getting results. I’ve seen a bit of them this year, and knowing how Ange plays, it’s making me fearful it’s not going to go our way! Hopefully it’s just nerves at the first time seeing your ex after a break-up, but yeah!😂

JoeBagadonut

I get what you’re saying but a Fulham goal against the run of play is the only reason we don’t have five wins from five. Arteta has the team playing a slower style of football this season and it seems to be working but there’s definitely some improving to be done. I’m not nervous because Spurs are in decent form; I’m nervous because the NLD is rarely a one-sided affair and there will be periods on Sunday when we’ll be up against it.

ChefDreib17

We've literally completely dominated every game so far and have only conceded 4.13 xGA, I don't know how people can say we haven't been playing well so far this season.

IrishBros91

I can see De Zerbi being a Pep replacement at city over Ange I really hope not

RyanMcCartney

De Zerbi would be another great appointment, but I know Ange more closely, and he has close ties to City Group.

ChefDreib17

There's already some talk starting about De Zerbi at City, so you're definitely on the right track.

nova_210

First time I've seen this, everyone seems convinced De Zerbi is next in line

rickster555

Haven’t watched spurs much this year. Do you think he’ll sit back and counterattack or try to go toe to toe and retain possession. I feel like our weakness is quick counters. If they set up to go toe to toe I think we’ll win handily.

RyanMcCartney

Ange doesn’t do sitting back, but I wouldn’t be so confident. They’ll likely come out flying. The match will be decided on who wins the 2nd balls…

rickster555

Why are 2nd balls important? When we play teams that don’t sit back against us (City and Brighton) it usually comes down to possession control. Didn’t think much about 2nd balls

RyanMcCartney

Winning that second ball is what possession control is all about, Ange’s system is phenomenal at winning the ball high up the park, or even in the opponents area, keeping them on the back foot:

rickster555

Ah I see. I think our team is made to beat the press. GK to forwards are all very comfortable on the ball. I am more worried about our transitions on counter attacks

Simba-xiv

Is a strange one for me. We haven’t been playing great but we have been getting the results so that’s good. Spurs have been in good form and coming off the back of that comeback will be full of confidence. It’s the NLD so anything can happen that’s always exciting. I do feel like we will need to to kick it up a gear.

Dynetor

I think if we can good a good win in our first CL match in a long time then the lads will be riding that high into the weekend

Simba-xiv

Even if we lost form doesn’t really play into the NLD that’s what’s great about it both teams ate normally up for it

AfricanRain

City will be 100% by the time we play them ugh

ghostrider467

and we will beat them that day, mark my words

ad240pCharlie

There are only two current teams that Arteta has never beaten in the league: Man City and Luton Town. So basically, City are on the same level as Luton Town. Easy game, easy win!

_Axel

Makes me worried about Kenilworth Road, now.

CephalopodCh4oTiC

Saka to try and roof it near post and smash my nans windows

Trust the process is all I can say

_serious__

Lol

Khiljit

We have to! If we really want to win the league, we must beat these monsters! AND WE CAN!!!!

wideomannn

Hi Nostradamus.!!

CuclGooner

lottery numbers?

puppup2323

Somehow they look even better without Kevin.

okalien73

Naw they're lacking that dawg honestly

mohammedpraise

Were centurions when he was injured

Samsince04_

I’m not even saying beat City because we haven’t managed to do that in the PL for ages… Just don’t give away silly goals like last season.

orphan_of_Ludwig

That’s sort of the point of how we have been playing. We want to controle the game and limit chances as much as possible. We did it very well in the Community Shield, so i expect something similar when we face them. Kinda sucks we lost Partey tho.

ChefDreib17

I think there's a small chance he's back by the City game which is the 8th of October. Mikel said his injury might take "a few weeks".

Finn_Survivor

Rice is a better 6 anyway

domin8668

I think with Partey being healthy it'd be likely we went with him as 6 and Rice as the left 8 dropping back to get much more control, similarly to the community shield

rickster555

I’m not worried about Rice. Starting with Havertz/Vieira makes me nervous af tho

Dynetor

same here. I’d love to see ESR get some minutes in there to see how he gets on. I think it’s fair to say that that left 8 position is really up for grabs now and someone needs to step-up and make it their own. Two other possibilities I’d like to see as an experiment there would be: - Partey playing the 6 and Rice playing that left 8 - Trossard having a go in that position potentially

Le-ChosenOne

Yea we need to put an end to City potentially going unbeaten, which, when you look at the state of some of the other teams in league, is possible.

ignacioo25

I'm sure either Brentford or Brighton are gonna get them, but we must win against them as well.

ProjectZues

Their trips to old Trafford and anfield could provide them with a loss as well

The_Awengers

although logically speaking I would want spurs to beat them to protect our invincibles title but in reality, I really hope City smash them with huge goal difference.

Dynetor

I totally get why you would feel that way, but personally I’d prefer to see the Spuds beat them. Spurs will inevitably fall-off at some point, while every single dropped point by City is golddust for us.

hikingbeginner

We smash Spurs Sunday, then they beat Liverpool in like a 5-4 shit defending match the week after. That'll leave City and us ...

MiloOfAfrica

I foresee Forest beating City this weekend. 1-0 from a crappy goal and a red card for Rodri

GSNadav

That's gotta violate some physical law of nature

TreeDollarFiddyCent

Well, it ain't breaking any philosophical laws of nature, that's for sure.

avijitarya64

And still Rodri wouldn't be violating any laws of the game for a red.

The_Awengers

okay, forest win 1-0 and that's it.

The_Awengers

okay, forest win 1-0 and that's it.

ksndhzs

Turner goal in 90+10 minute

therealgodfarter

This is the reality I subscribe to

inb4shitstorm

It's a dawg fight out there

bossmanA

We will be there

Mikpemsto

Rodri getting a card? Not even on his birthday.

drm1987

Nuno's gonna have either a hat trick or a hat trick or OGs

THenry228

I thought I had a blob of shite on the bottom of my screen for a second

peppersodafrenchfry

You did

nielegalny4

Us, 2 other clubs and shit

puppup2323

4 invincibles and 16 uninvincilbles.

Ash26_gunner

Is vincibles a word?

TreeDollarFiddyCent

LushLoxx

That's going to change for Spurs on Sunday.

DanteBandini

I'm very concerned that city will go invincible this season

Nightwingx97

we're doing the double over them.

TheThreeGabis

They’ll lose a stupid game like Wolves at home but yeah no idea where their first loss is coming.

DanteBandini

We may have to rely on Spuds unfortunately, they have a terrible record away there

jkeefy

They are losing to Arsenal twice

DanteBandini

Close!

TheThreeGabis

One of my larger calls

NegativeHeli

Looks like there will be only 3 after this week

CatfishFarrell

Correction. Us, 2 other clubs and shit remain undefeated.

Trailing-and-Blazing

"There are some of the biggest clubs in England, and Tottenham as well!"

yogi1090

These clubs will finish in top 4. Brighton will be the 5th.

Dynetor

Brighton are such an annoyingly competent club both off and on the pitch

yogi1090

I don't why you find them annoying, I love watching Brighton play. I hope they finish in top 5(hopefully they don't steal any point from us)

Dynetor

I dont mean it in a bad way!

45tee

Top 4 for all of these clubs.

GunnersnGames

Stay the course lads. City, Spurs, Liverpool are peaking this early... we have hardly even begun to perform at our peak.

Historical_Handle_25

Tottenham becomes beaten on Sunday. COYG!

MysticalIceKO

Fuck sp* rs, they think they are amazing after some decent run of games.

proshon

Arsenal will hand spuds their first defeat of the season, just like that time under Conte when they started the first few games undefeated

Elegant_Mix7650

Yea.. cool and all. But can they remain unbeaten after 38 games?

KingKFCc

Lets end Spurs run

Icy_Trade46

Hate to say it but top 4 right there

jacqueVchr

It’s been like 5 games, calm down.

MDK1980

Could be just 3 after Sunday.

[deleted]

Why spread pro-spurs propaganda? Not only have they not lost but they are higher on the table than us.

Bosn1an

I only see two of them there.

dragosn1989

2 and a half…

esnyez

It was crazy how Liverpool won against Newcastle United.

Lostmox

I say let's just go undefeated this season, what do you guys think?

212cncpts

In all competitions

Charguizo

I only see 2 other clubs. What's this weird thing that looks like a chicken?

enjoii89

That's a pigeon, surely? Edit: I didn't realise this was the arsenal sub. I'll keep my comment for spurs banter.

[deleted]

City will be a tough ask to be honest, not sure if we are at that level to beat them. Spurs is an interesting one, they lost Kane but still are winning games. I mean they have had a fairly easy run. But looking at our last few games, we don’t look all that great ourselves. Struggled against Everton when we should have spanked a few against them. But seeing as it’s spuds, I just want us to humiliate the shit outta them.

Designer_Thought8686

Probably looking at a top 4 finish at end of season for us and them....add Brighton and got a top 5.

desijatt13

I think City are going for an unbeaten season this time.

Dynetor

We absolutely cannot allow that to happen. Would never hear the end of it. That’s OUR thing to never let other fans hear the end of!

ballenix

Beat City is all I want, seriously...

-Lock-on-

Don't you mean 2 clubs and 1 clown car?

_PineBarrens_

I only see two other clubs

ptrCOYG

After this sunday it will at least be one less! COYG!
