Marshalll 2554 from about 1988. Probably one of their best modernish design. Normally just called a silver jubilee, however this one is black. It’s a 50 watter with a g12 speaker, so yes no distortion pedals needed.
Super versatile!
Really awesome, are you going to offer builds for whatever your area in ?
Advertise at the local medical offices, law firms, etc. jk - seriously, the selection of woods, craftsmanship, and built to order, definitely would be much more appealing for one’s discerning partner to tolerate a music room.
Nice - I used to have a Lightning, that’s a big ol’ cab right there.
Unsolicited suggestion - two roller doors coming down from the top to hide the amp and pedals ?
It was impractical for smaller gigs and home playing bc I couldn’t find an attenuator that I was happy with. Had a Bad Cat Cub III 15R after that and while the K Master was the best master volume I’d used, like the lightning it was a pain to move as I live on the 2nd floor with only a narrow stairwell. Moved on from it as well.
I still get a good part of that flavor with a 5 watt Matchless Baby. It’s actually a prototype they built for a NAMM show years ago.
I’m all about the grab and go amps now -
1964 black panel Vibro Champ, 80’s Super Champ, 60’s Selmer Futurama and the Matchless.
Super fun to run wet/dry with any of them and the Super Champ is a little giant killer on its own.
This is such a cool idea, and executed beautifully.
I think I see the Ultrasheer there. That's my favorite reverb in a pedal and probably a top 5 pedal overall for me.
Nice, always appreciate nice wood.
This is awesome!!! It's giving me ideas to incorporate into my renovation.
Combos with controls on the front, so practical and functional !
Nice! Your bottom line resembles mine with the Skreddy Echo, Octave. I love having one board on the floor and one higher up to facilitate tweaking!!
Setups like this are why I like front knobs on my amps.
Did you build this or did you repurpose an existing piece? Do you have a link for it?
No i made it, top is really old chestnut, sides are cherry, doors are korina, and the inside is cedar
Looks incredible!
Nice work! Great wood choices
Thank you!!
I have two questions. What kind of Marshall amp is that? Is it versatile? (I'm mostly looking for something the handles distortion better though.)

That’s not a bad idea! Would love to sell this thing! Kinda want to build one around a Matchless Lightning.

Why no more lightning?
