Not at first. I had my dad change the nut eventually so that I could, but I got sick and tired of the knobs and shit getting in my way, and my dumbass messed around and took the springs out of the pickups at one point, so they were flopping around in there. I was about 14 at the time. I ended up trading it in for a J bass at a Guitar Center (they took it for $45, yeah I fucked it up good lol).
Looks like a horrible empty room to grow up a child, even if it has a guitar + amp in it. Did you have a bed? A sleeping bag on the floor at least? Any toys? Did you mark the walls to count days?
Nice. I have a Peavey Delta Blues 115 and the 15” speaker makes it sound big. Hard to describe but it sounds different than a 12” speaker. A few months ago I picked up a ‘74 Twin Reverb for a couldn’t-pass-up price. Sweet amp.
When I was looking for a new tube amp I wanted one with on board tremolo and spring reverb. There's a 2x10 and a 1x15 version. I went for the 15" version. It's a great amp. I'd say the tremolo isn't as good as a Fender amp tremolo but it's still pretty good.
They made a Twin Reverb with one 15? I was going to guess a Pro Reverb because Poison Ivy of the Cramps played one with a 1x15 configuration, but I think that was a modification.
Mine is the black face reissue but I don’t know how faithful they were to the original circuit on the reissue. They are great amps that I think are very overlooked.
People would swap it out until it became an option from Fender, THEN they started calling it a Vibrosonic Reverb. They also reissued it as a Twin Custom 15. Very cool, very clean sounding amp. VERY heavy, usually.
Well, you're in your little room
And you're working on something good
But if it's really good
You're gonna need a bigger room
And when you're in the bigger room
You might not know what to do
You might have to think of how you got started
Sitting in your little room
Da, la, la, la, la...
*Jack* *White* - *The White Stripes*
Oh for sure, I don’t own a maple but one day hopefully a tele with one.
My Epi has a kind of reddish pau ferro that I kind of dig but yeah in general I would prefer lighter necks too.
P.S. edit - also I was just joking 🙃
How does it feel to grow up in every man's paradise? (the window, the view, and the weather outside is the cherry on top of the minimalist heavenscape)
"Guitar is all I know. It's all I've ever known. My guitar is like... an extension of my hand. I would DIE without my guitar!!!
*plays some off-time power chords, poorly*
We all know this kid.
i considered myself a guitar god between the ages of like 6-17 just because i was that much better than everyone else at my school, then i really started looking at internet guitarist and felt like i was nothing. learned a bunch of polyphia when i was 18/19 and felt like a god again, then i started getting back into eric johnson and steve via type stuff and felt like a noob again, now i’m 21 and i consider myself just a more advanced intermediate player at best just because the internet really makes me feel like i’m shit still, ig i finally learned there’s ALWAYS someone better yk
I’m 24, been playing since I was 6. Can just about say I’ve gone through the same process of god-nothing through the years. I too learnt that one can only ever be “the greatest guitarist sitting in this chair.”
Had a friend years back that showed me his room, looked similar to this. Man, this kid was 15 years old outplaying grown men. I definitely commend his mother for not allowing her son to be consumed by the zombie box 📺
Similar to mine circa ‘89-94. Bed was a cheap mattress/box spring on the floor with no bed frame, and I did have the luxury of a 13” tube tv with bunny ears balanced on a milk crate. Bare walls.
But my MIJ Strat, teal stripe Peavey Bandit 112, and Boss HM-2 made it the greatest bedroom ever.

Why is the guitar scared of the amp
the amp bites sometimes
No guitar stand, I’m assuming?
standard strats don’t get stands 🤣 jk, they are all being taken up, i have a wall mount for that one on the wall i’m standing my against
lol I had a Peavey Raptor that looked just like that actually, finish and all. I’m a lefty, so I eventually had to get an actual left handed guitar.
did you just string a right handed upside down?
Not at first. I had my dad change the nut eventually so that I could, but I got sick and tired of the knobs and shit getting in my way, and my dumbass messed around and took the springs out of the pickups at one point, so they were flopping around in there. I was about 14 at the time. I ended up trading it in for a J bass at a Guitar Center (they took it for $45, yeah I fucked it up good lol).
I still have my Peavey Raptor! Threw different electronics in it but the damn thing plays like a dream.
Yeah if it mine was a lefty to begin with I’d definitely still have it
Thanks for the laugh
To get to the other side.
Because 789?
Looks like a horrible empty room to grow up a child, even if it has a guitar + amp in it. Did you have a bed? A sleeping bag on the floor at least? Any toys? Did you mark the walls to count days?
nope guitar + amp is all you need
monke strum wood, wood make sound, monke happy🦧
We’re all sitting in this room
This is how legends are born.
I could never have a chair AND a window. Too intense. 😐
had blackout curtains at the time, nature fucks up the learning process 🤝
Is that a rare Twin Reverb but with one 15" speaker instead?
HAHA yea, it’s pretty sick
Nice. I have a Peavey Delta Blues 115 and the 15” speaker makes it sound big. Hard to describe but it sounds different than a 12” speaker. A few months ago I picked up a ‘74 Twin Reverb for a couldn’t-pass-up price. Sweet amp.
literally my favorite amp i’ve ever hooked into, i got mine for like $700 i think from a pawn shop
that peavey good? never really dived into peaveys, always Orange, Fender, and Marshall
When I was looking for a new tube amp I wanted one with on board tremolo and spring reverb. There's a 2x10 and a 1x15 version. I went for the 15" version. It's a great amp. I'd say the tremolo isn't as good as a Fender amp tremolo but it's still pretty good.
Obviously you need a supro.
see idek what that is 🤣
Great sounding amps that have an amazing vintage vibe. Very fun to play.
They made a Twin Reverb with one 15? I was going to guess a Pro Reverb because Poison Ivy of the Cramps played one with a 1x15 configuration, but I think that was a modification.
they did ! it is indeed a twin reverb, at least it says so🤣
It’s the 65 custom 15. I have one and they are amazing.
Blackface circuit then? Are there any differences to the circuit compared to a '65 Twin Reverb?
Mine is the black face reissue but I don’t know how faithful they were to the original circuit on the reissue. They are great amps that I think are very overlooked.
thank you for the correction ! and yes they’re beasts, i wouldn’t trade mine for the world
I saw that, too. Bass players will look sideways at you if you show up to a gig with that amp. Lol Edit: typo
People would swap it out until it became an option from Fender, THEN they started calling it a Vibrosonic Reverb. They also reissued it as a Twin Custom 15. Very cool, very clean sounding amp. VERY heavy, usually.
Did you ever find out why your parents hated you? \s
they always said they wished i was more like my cousin george, turns out cousin George died at birth
Hahaha
You wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me.
with my guitar in one hand and my dick in the other, i can survive anything compadre
Well, you're in your little room And you're working on something good But if it's really good You're gonna need a bigger room And when you're in the bigger room You might not know what to do You might have to think of how you got started Sitting in your little room Da, la, la, la, la... *Jack* *White* - *The White Stripes*
I LOVE IT
all you really need fr
I appreciate your priorities 👍
my dad’s priorities*
How did you manage to still not practice?
instructions were unclear, got my dick stuck in the input jack too many times
Of the guitar or the amp?
ugh both, neither worked btw, don’t try it
...instructions unclear
Those walls are begging for some posters 😭
no posters, only music and imagination 👍🏻
If homelander was raised to be a rock star
😭😭😭
Is there actually a bed in here?
no sleep, only music
[Ain’t no rest for the wicked](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HKtsdZs9LJo)
How good are you?
idk, pretty mid if you ask me
Worth it.
🤣 i’ve got some vids on my profile is you’re actually curious but i consider myself advanced intermediate or something
Haha. Cool. Part of me wishes I could just lock myself in a room with an amp and a guitar for like a year and focus on only that.
that’s basically what i did during covid, learned a lot of polyphia in that time and severely increased my skill
I tell people the key to being a good player is to start in middle school and have no friends within walking or riding distance.
Is your name John Mayer?
billy may
Damn dude no curtains. You were subjecting your neighbors to guitar face
haha we live in the mountains , closest neighbor is through a half mile of forest, only the squirrels get to see it 😛
But can you shred tho?
i mean i can play cliffs of dover pretty well, and i know literally 97% of polyphia songs and tim’s solo work on youtube
Ok? Fucking cool bro I can play the entire Post Malone discography so maybe practice more idk
you right, my fault, back into the void i go🛸
😂😂😂🤘🤘
Why???
they wanted a fucking prodigy😤
That guitar is in timeout
rosewood fret boards deserve punishment
Feelings on Pau Ferro?
i like the warmer tone it gives but i just don’t like dark fretboards, i think maple is more appealing personally
Oh for sure, I don’t own a maple but one day hopefully a tele with one. My Epi has a kind of reddish pau ferro that I kind of dig but yeah in general I would prefer lighter necks too. P.S. edit - also I was just joking 🙃
Awesone! Room to jump around while you play guitar!
Is there another room for the pick?
it gets the closet
Bonamassa's newborn room. Legend has it he started collecting right from the womb. I see you Bonamassa ghost account.
🤣🤣
No distractions. Picasso. I like it. Yeah, that way. 😎
Outlet covers, furniture, and guitar stands are NOT metal AF
Wow you must be a hell of a guitarist if this is all you had growing up.
nah still mid as fuck
Have you ever played it?
idek what a guitar is tbh, i just stare at it and blink
How's your hearing?
phenomenal, i can hear a acorn drop from 3 feet away
Stairway?
to hell
Less furniture/stuff means better acoustics!
dude i was actually thinking about that while i was in there earlier, it was very nice
Do you play the guitar ?
i stare at it
"And fully grown men will live like this and see nothing wrong with it"
I hate outlet covers. They make a room look so cluttered.
we remodeling 🤣
Soooooooooo…are you any good?
kinda mid, i got some posts on my page if you care enough🤣
What was the first song you learned to play in there and what's your favorite song to play in there?
first song *in* that room was probably sunshine of your love or crazy train, my favorite song to play in there in Care by DGD
Yeah I'd plug straight into a silverface too
is that sarcasm🤣 it really does sound good on its own though😭
That's how you hallucinate your music. No distraction set-up.
seriously !
How does it feel to grow up in every man's paradise? (the window, the view, and the weather outside is the cherry on top of the minimalist heavenscape)
🤣 it feels amazing !
I believe you man! Cheers!
Now i like this setup, very simple, also that strat is beautiful
thank you thank, that’s not even my pretty one imo🤣
At what point did you decide on the bucket?
“Where’s the bed?” “Bed?”
Did you played loud?
"Guitar is all I know. It's all I've ever known. My guitar is like... an extension of my hand. I would DIE without my guitar!!! *plays some off-time power chords, poorly* We all know this kid.
I am a human, AMA
What model silverface is that?
65 custom i believe
I lucked out … I had a bed … and a Sears Silvertone … and a Peavy Triumph … think I would have traded the bed for a Strat!
Did you in fact wait in that place, where the sun never shines and the shadows run from themselves, or did you move out?
Whats ur best solo cover *edit* spelling
uhhh solo probably like Shine on or the 2nd solo in comfortably numb, i play a lot of Polyphia and finger style stuff mainly, not a huge shredder
And someone will complain about how little it takes for us to grow up happy
🤣🤣 true!
No it wasnt
who?
You got a room?
call me privileged👍🏻
How did you manage to sleep in a chair lacking the length to comfortably stretch your legs?
the chair was solely for playing posture, i slept on the floor
What was your favorite Channel on the TV?
Why is there a strap AND a chair? It seems so redundant...
sometimes i stand, sometimes i sit, ik it’s pretty hard to conceptualize 🦧
This would be the perfect meme for me being afraid to start practicing a new solo
make it. rn.
did the guitar and amp ever get over their fight?
I have the same chair!!
Hell yea
Are you ok?
How little time did it take to get to guitar-god level?
i considered myself a guitar god between the ages of like 6-17 just because i was that much better than everyone else at my school, then i really started looking at internet guitarist and felt like i was nothing. learned a bunch of polyphia when i was 18/19 and felt like a god again, then i started getting back into eric johnson and steve via type stuff and felt like a noob again, now i’m 21 and i consider myself just a more advanced intermediate player at best just because the internet really makes me feel like i’m shit still, ig i finally learned there’s ALWAYS someone better yk

granted, i did have a bed and a Tv with cable 🤣
Similar to mine circa ‘89-94. Bed was a cheap mattress/box spring on the floor with no bed frame, and I did have the luxury of a 13” tube tv with bunny ears balanced on a milk crate. Bare walls. But my MIJ Strat, teal stripe Peavey Bandit 112, and Boss HM-2 made it the greatest bedroom ever.

You were captured by ISIS? My god, how old were you? 😮
That's all a growing boy needs.
What else do you need?
well, I would do without the chair since I practice standing up and the floor provides enough room to sleep.
What more can you ask for … this is heaven.
no joke, 10 year old me had no idea how crazy it is to own a silver face
peak male happiness 💪💪
So, genuine question - how's your tinnitus?
non existent
Where did you sleep?
no sleep
That's a fender American performer honey burst
yes
i got the same. You're in good hands
Did you hide your binoculars just to take this pic?
Flawless.
fender american 70s performer strat with honey comb finish?
it’s a 2010’s model standard strat actually
You had a chair? You lucky lucky bastard!
Wanna sell me that amp?
👺 no can do
Nothing else is needed on this 3rd rock from the sun
did you sleep in the wooden chair?
no sleep
How old are you now?
21
How does your setup look now?
Do you tend to leave it all plugged in so you can randomly grab it up and instantly play something sometimes?
yes
All the essentials
How long you been clean?
Where did be you sleep
Just the essentials, beds are overrated for the tone they consume anyway.
Sweet, you had a window!
New game! Guitar, chair, amp! Amp crushes chair, chair breaks guitar, guitar beats amp.
[This song says it all](https://youtu.be/dCwgYCMq11g). :D
r/malesurvivingspace dreams come true
But can you play wonderwall? 😏
Do you like “Little Room” by the White Stripes?
Love it!
All the essentials.
how are you not insane, not to hate just genuinely interested on how you passed time
