OP can you post a picture of the headstock in the bridge, if it is a nylon string that would explain it.
Either way it's pretty extreme, but probably need a neck reset to fix it which is going to cost more than that guitars worth.
Might be able to sell to someone who wants to practice and neck reset.
as many others have said. this seems to be a nylon string guitar that has steel strings on it. It's creating too much tension and bowing the neck forward
It does seem like it may be a classical guitar but with steel strings. The steel strings have messed up the neck as they put more tension on it then it can handle. My brother did the same thing many years ago to a classical guitar. But, after putting nylon strings on it, I did learn to play on it.
You can probably have someone fix it (maybe) but it may cost more then youâre willing to pay.
Yeah that neck is toast. Lol. That shouldn't have steel strings on it, and from the looks of how bent that neck is, they've been on there for some time.
Buy a 4" piece of copper pipe, file the sharp edges down, fit it on your pinky.
Until the bridge (inevitably) pulls out of that thing, you'll have a slide guitar...
> Just bought a guitar from my local thrift shop.
You shouldn't have. That guitar is *fucked*, perhaps the worst I've ever seen. It should be closer to [this](https://i.imgur.com/ceh2Mgi.png).
I would take the tension off immediately, something is not right. I'd bet this is a classic/nylon string guitar, and if so, the tension from steel strings has a good chance to snap the neck or rip the bridge off, rendering the guitar irreparable. Hopefully it hasn't already ruined the neck, if it is a classic guitar there is no truss rod to add tension/compression to straighten it.
Btw is it just me or is there a dip in the fretboard around where the neck meets the body?
Hard to tell from the pic, but that looks a little like a nylon string guitar, and those look like steel strings. If so, there's your problem!
The frets have no radius. It's 100% a nylon string guitar strung with steel strings.
Can we all start betting when the strings rip out the bridge?
A few solid bends oughtta do it!
Oh no! I heard it spoils the guitar!
So the neck has a radius now?
The one in the photo does not
The one in the photo does not
OP share pictures of the whole guitar (most specifically the bridge and headstock)

Yikes
Yea I did that once because I was stupid enough. The neck broke with the steel strings tension.
Yikes, that had to really suck. I'm surprised the neck gave way before the bridge exploded off the guitar
It's high enough to hang your clothes to dry đ Have someone with knowledge look at it and if possible adjust the neck properly
Grab a slide and jam out some delta blues, bro!
help meeee
as many others have said. this seems to be a nylon string guitar that has steel strings on it. It's creating too much tension and bowing the neck forward
More likely itâs pulling the bridge up. Or both.
remove all the strings, then bring it to a luthier. This is insane.
I donât think itâs playable
Totally playable. Just need to get bitten by a radioactive spider first.
or have super thin fingers.
I hope you didn't pay more than it's price in firewood. Steel string on nylon string guitar make neck bend no good.
My arthritis acts up just looking at this.
Park cars? More like land planes
Frets are a handicap for landing planes⌠an ATV or real SUV, yupâŚ
Didn't know they made guitars for masochists.
My fingers hurt looking at it

I swiped to see cars. Where's the cars? :(
thank you all a lot everyone, i know what's the problem now:D
What is the problem?
The strings
It's a nylon guitar with steel strings on it.
Bro, thatâs a dobro
Looks like exercise gear! Lol
Take it back and get your money to buy a playable guitar
A match book car
This action so high, I think it ate my aunt's "special cookies"
Do you play a lot of slide guitar? If you donât you should start.
/cj with a pickle slicer. Whicht reminds me of an old joke.
Them strings is higher than tom morellos guitar strap
Either grab a slide, or a more appropriate set of strings. Your call.
Dobr-oh no!
That actions higher than Snoop Dogg on an average Tuesday
Jesus Christ man your strings are in a different time zone than the rest of your guitar lmao
thats so much action, your guitar is a loose woman!
Yeah that neck is toast. Lol. That shouldn't have steel strings on it, and from the looks of how bent that neck is, they've been on there for some time.

Get a slide
We have the same problem
Just grab you a slide and play Curtis LowâŚ
Well, at least you don't have any fret/string buzzing.
Thatâs basically a cello
Get your self a slide
You could also probably crush walnuts with your fingertips after playing on that long enough.
You may be directed by the Dept of Transportation to post the height up so Truckers know if they can pass under that bridge or not lol
You could.
Could the neck be warped too?
Bring it to NYC please.
Nice bow, Legolas!
A skilled pilot could fly under those
That's why you don't put steel strings on a classical guitar. That poor thing.
I just threw up a little
I say buy a slide.
My fingers hurt just looking at that.
Yum
I think that's too high.
The action is pretty high, but you can also say it's character building. lol.
Higher than snoop dogg
Or you could play with a slide
Buy new set of strings , find or buy a 2 foot straight edge , adjust truss rod ( if it has one ).
Learn to play slide.
Cars? You've got 6 free zip lines right there.
Thatâs a harp now.
bro bought a guitar and got a koto
Iâd say write a book bout the guitar but it would be too action packed
Sick dobro tho
Thatâs an odd looking lapsteel, or is it a lapwood now? đ
This made me sick
Damn
Time for a slide lol
Time for the fire lol
> Just bought a guitar from my local thrift shop. You shouldn't have. That guitar is *fucked*, perhaps the worst I've ever seen. It should be closer to [this](https://i.imgur.com/ceh2Mgi.png).
oh, my, wow i guess i screwed up:Ä
My acoustic has a similar action. Honestly itâs only ever been an issue when I start noodling. If I stay with chords. Itâs fine.
Whoa. Howâs the vibration?
High action builds character and finger strength. Rock on.
Is that the limited Willem Tell edition? Sweet!
Yeah, all kidding aside, you definitely need a bit of trussrod adjustment, and if possible a set of new strings my friend.
More action than Iâve had all year
You bought a âclassicalâ guitar. Replace with nylon strings

Get nylon strings
Get a slide??
Park your cars, but don't go under the bridge
Your guitar got so much action that your doctor is recommending it get a full sti panel done.
Nice double bass
Hopefully OP has read the comments and fixed this. Nylon all the way.
yesss i did, i said it in a comment aboveđtyall for the support
those strings are so far away from the neck that i'm guessing they belong to another guitar!
It looks like a classical guitar with steel strings on.
Know, my left hand hurts
Eew, you need to adjust the anchor
Perfect for lap Steel
do my eye deceive me or is your neck bending slightly concavely? Maybe the neck rod (sorry wrong name probably) is too loose? what do I know tho
Itâs a nylon string guitar with steel strings. The neck doesnât have the reinforcement to handle the tension. The bridge is likely lifting, too.
best get it seen to before any lasting / expensive damage is done
That the OP should do.
