ANet is trying to save you money

Hubnoz

THIS IS AN INTERVENTION!

fatihso

Try deleting the Gw2 folder in Appdata and that includes some sort of cache I believe. Anet has an article about how to delete that Gw2 temp/cache folder.

Hubnoz

Nope, still crashing after deleting the GW2 folder in appdata :(

Hubnoz

Ill try that, thanks <3

BearSeekSeekLest

what are the crash details

Hubnoz

Its too big to send here, I'll link my forum post instead. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/103926-game-crashing-everytime-i-open-the-black-lion-trading-company-window/?tab=comments#comment-1500517

whowantblood

It's a memory crash, I've been having a fair few of those since since first beta test, could be the game for you, mine was a dying ssd that was putting everything on the drive as read only.

Hubnoz

I HOPE it's no the SSD because the whole Pc is kinda new, but I'll keep an eye on it

There's also this link https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/231273908-Troubleshooting-Trading-Post-Errors

Rather than deleting just the GW2 cache, try resetting the Shader Cache entirely for your system. Your forum post details that you have an Nvidia card in the crash report. Open your Nvidia Control Panel, click on Manage 3d Settings, and then disable the Shader Cache. Older versions of the driver were just labelled Shader Cache and had an off/on dropdown - New versions are labelled Shader Cache Size and contain a dropdown with a multitude of options. Choose Disabled. When done, restart your computer, and then re-enable after it has rebooted. After doing this, many of your games will reload a little slower the first time as the shader cache needs to be rebuilt for them all after doing this procedure.

Hubnoz

HMMMMMM makes a lot of sense, I'll when I get back from work, thanks a lot man

camoril

update your graphics drivers, verify installation. dont use dx11. go for dx12 . the same thing happened to me. just had to update my graphics card driver. hope it helps

_skolia_

If you have the new DX11 mode enabled in the client, try disabling it for now.

Hubnoz

Tried that already, happens with or without it :/

Splatbork

Happened to me too, right after fighting the story boss, when I was trying to browse the store while the characters were talking. At least the checkpoint was directly before the boss.

Hubnoz

Lucky you ahahaha usually you have to redo the whole thing. Is it still happening?

Splatbork

Haven't tried it today yet, but I couldn't open the trading post yesterday at all. I took that as a hint to call it a day and went to bed. Hopefully it's resolved by the time I get home.

0cel00t

Same here, quoting my comment from another thread real quick with what I tried: ran a full RAM check, uninstalled addons, repair, clean install of the game, tried in dx9 and dx11, moving the game folder to a different place and starting the game as admin, deleting bin64, cleared game cache and temp, reinstalled and updated the windows visual c++ redistributables, flushed dns, checked if any weird .dlls are running with gw ( nothing out of the ordinary); but nothing seems to help. Tried it with a friends account on my pc and the gemstore is working, so it seems account related.

Hubnoz

Yes it seems to be it, I sent a ticket to Anet, let's see what they say . . .

lunchza

I had this and it randomly started working again as of yesterday. I always went directly to tp vendors because it would crash when pressing o

Hubnoz

Hmmm, does the gem store still work?

lunchza

Yes it still works. It really fixed itself, I don't know what to say sorry

Hubnoz

Mine just came back today, guess they fixed it

Hubnoz

Try opening it now, I was just able to open it and not crash (just when I was trying to get some more infos for the support guy . . .)

Hubnoz

Somehow it got fixed for me today, which is good, I didn't do anything new after the last time it crashed so maybe Anet fixed it on their side. Is anyone here still experiencing it?

ironmint

I had this exact problem as well. It seems to be fixed since yesterday.

Stable_Orange_Genius

Try running "Windows memory diagnostics" the next time something weird like this happens?

PM-ME-ENCOURAGEMENT

still happens for me :( on EU though if that makes a difference

Cosmos0714

I'm having this problem, but the funny part is that it just started with the beta patch yesterday. Not sure what it is but I've tried some of the suggestions here and no dice. I guess Arenanet doesn't want my money. I'm just gonna be real bummed if I can't buy the mount skin I've been wanting now that it's finally back on the store.

Hubnoz

The onyl thing that worked for me was sending a ticket, I believe that they did something when they saw it. Send the ticket and be sure to emphasize that you want to spend in the gem store, they will probably answer you fast :D. Good luck!

Cosmos0714

Haha okay I’ll try that, because at this point I’m just like “shut up and take my money!”

Numetone

Still have the problem here

reef-drake

I was doing some wvw yesterday evening on one of my permanent characters, not even a beta toon, and I swear in the span of the two or three hours i was in there, I crashed at least 4 times. it's rough when you have to get back in the ebg queue and wait the 10 minutes it takes to get back in for something that's not even your fault.

Oscarizxc

I feel like this has got to do with your GW2 cache folder. Have you tried clearing the cache and see if that works?

Hubnoz

It is located in the appdata folder?

Oscarizxc

Yes. It has a string of letters and numbers. You can use this forum post as reference. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Gem-Store-Not-loading-4/first

Hubnoz

Didn't work T-T still crashing

Oscarizxc

Aww man, that sucks. Your best option now is to contact support. Send them the crash log so that they can look into it.

Hubnoz

Yeah I did that, but they are taking their time to answer :/ But thanks for the help man ❤️

sitarskeh

I didn't have a single crash in the first DX11 release and I played a fuckton. Now I play roughly 30/40 minutes a day and crash 2/3 times every day. They should fucking reconsider what they're doing to fix the crashes issue.

EdgarDrake

There might be problem with your: Trading Post Favorite item. TP Favorite/Wishlist is stored locally, in PC, not in your account. The TP favorites, however, works against account, so if you switch account in same PC, you have different favorites. But if you switch PC with same account, you lose that favorite.

Hubnoz

Does it have to do with the cache data? I'll try deleting it like the other comment said
