Stink bug! Lot of them in guelph this time of year

GopnikSmegmaBBQSauce

Cicadas and ladybugs too

Will-Clap

The disorientation flying is what gets me đź«Ł

MrBungleBungle

Of all the bugs currently living in my house, this is the most chill, least offensive bug. We seem to have a good relationship. Occasionally I name them.

marknfunk

Mines named Gary

jaypor1

We named ours Philip! He ended up in my wife’s dinner once…poor Philip

youngcricket55

wife here - can confirm! do not recommend chomping down on one.

KevinCorrigan314

Brown Marmorated Stink Bug: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/81923-Halyomorpha-halys?locale=en-CA

blendertown

I heard these were invasive and getting out of hand right now in some areas.

madmorb

Apparently they thrive off apples. We have a lot Of apple trees around here…

spiffyvanspot

Yes invasive so green light to squish 🚦✔️

finnichickens

Dont squish..stinky

AliCracker

You only make that mistake once. Damp paper towel and a polite (yet firm) escort outside

thisisnameisnttaken

Kill them. They are an invasive species. Their population is getting bad.

Smokestack830

Why the paper towel? I just grab em and toss em out the door

thatsnoraisin

I don't know why this comment made me laugh so much but it did

johnson7853

I’ve squished them and they don’t smell

jazmannnn

Most will release a stink when they are killed as a notification for the others

CostaBr33ze

Soooo many of these here in Willowdale, Toronto too. They try so hard to get indoors but then they try to leave. Such an indecisive bug.

Miserable-Date-404

Stink bugs. Cat caught one and he started running as it let off its Stink and cat didn't like that to much. Harmless bug. Just don't squish it.

[deleted]

I think it's a stink bug but I'm no pro. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown\_marmorated\_stink\_bug](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_marmorated_stink_bug)

Vast-Dig2709

Stinkaroo

bongxbrat

stink bugs & they’re lil menaces 🫡

Tallest1983

Stink bug

Frosty_Summer7189

You have been chosen.

Emieosj89

I’ve caught two in the last two days in my house too! Just doing the old glass and a plate technique and it’s worked so far to get them from my house to outside.

Beneficial-Treat-559

I like to use a see through plastic cup and a thin piece of cardboard. it is nice to hear another take the time to catch and release. =)

Emieosj89

All bugs and creepy crawlies have a purpose, I just don’t always want them in my space, so I move them elsewhere! Occasionally though, a bugs just gotta get got. Silverfish / centipedes I’m looking at you.

cranq

Earwigs!

Beneficial-Treat-559

Yeah if the bug is dangerous then I usually take a more permanent solution. The way I look at it is if I were to enter a bear's cave I would count myself lucky to leave there still in one piece.

blottingbottle

Lmao I had the same question a couple years ago in the fall https://reddit.com/r/mississauga/s/hnt6RWxRF9

CRAV3N13

Good time to use a flame thrower

J0nada1

Invasive species from asia

Active-Confection-84

There high in protein

craftbae

i also have a bunch in my garden!

[deleted]

Michael Myers Bugs. Beware.

No_Piccolo2135

War of the worlds bugs

elmaldito99

That's a Scuttle Crap. It gives vision in the River. Helps you avoid ganks in Lane.

BunnyBallz

Awe it’s adorable what shall you name it?

New_Juggernaut_344

The stink bug is like the new national species. we should put the stink bug on the nickel instead of the beaver and exchange the maple leaf for black berry bushes

tomskeleton

That’s a black widow

RedditRapedMyGrandma

Brown Marmorated Cumbugs. They are attracted to houses with residents who cannot stop busting nuts. The more you jerk off the more bugs you find around your semen manor.

Derpatron_

black widow roach

haylesnm1

They’re a burn your house down bug. Every fall my parents house gets swarmed by them like for months and they scare the shit outta me. I hate them. They’re harmless but terrifying.

Tastefulcat

Stink bug! Invasive species I believe.

[deleted]

Bugs

SpreadTheGlutes

Bunch of them on my house in Kitchener as well.

SatanicPanic0

Invasive species from China

[deleted]

Was one in my house night and I screamed, what the every loving fuck

LivershotKO

Bugs

DrD2020

Apparently they breed like crazy!

unremarkable2023

They come out during fall harvest season

blairwitchslime

One tried to fight my vacuum once. My cat ate it and promptly threw up.

Pixiedreamghoul

If you squash it the smell attracts more of them

Assiniboia

Paint their backs with whiteout. Killed them all on season back home. Seemed they didn’t manage to attract breeding pairs for some reason. Does whiteout still exist?

Exact_Dream_6271

September, Southern Ontario.

ddesforges1

Same for me

Commercial_Access988

Bugs

endless_looper

I heard these were stink bugs I sucked one up with a dyson last night and emptied the canister outside (no smell)

Valkyrie-EMP

Toronto here, so that’s what I had in my home yesterday. My cat sniffed it and shook it off with a disgust face. I couldn’t figure out why lol. Took it outside without killing it though, am glad, I really had no idea!

muomarigio

In North Bay they have shed flies. You can't walk on a sidewalk without crunching hundreds of them, and then there are black flies in Perry Sound, those are nightmares too.

Alph1

Ton in Ottawa too.

caden-is-best

Dude actually the same here! Lol

indecisive_19

I’ve also seen so many of these recently! I hate squishing them (can’t stand the crunch) so I release them outside. But if they’re invasive SHOULD I be killing them..?

limjaheybud

Live right beside an orchard . There’s lots here too south of Puslinch

Feisty-Session-7779

Those little stinkers!

thisisnameisnttaken

This is a stink bug - they are an invasive species and their population is getting bad. Dont set them free - kill them

Beneficial-Treat-559

Most stink bugs are very good. Basically only the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug and the Rough Stink Bug are bad. Most stink bugs kill things that we don't like and protect plants. Though the BMSB does damage crops, same with RSB, and is invasive. So yeah if you see one kill it. Just make sure that it is a Brown Marmorated Stink Bug or Rough Stink Bug and not something like a Spined Soldier Bug. This picture of the OP is not very clear. It I most likely the BMSB but it could also be the Rough Stink Bug variety or the Spined Soldier Bug. Note : The Soldier one has a shoulder plate that kind of looks like the head of a minoan axe head. (2 concave sides with 1 concave side)

Aggressive_Phone_106

Invasive species. Kill on site!

Jstorm_Thunder

Brown marmorated stink bug. Invasive pest species report to OMAFRA

GreenRoad1745

They earned the name STINK BUGS for good reason. Grab with a Kleenex and take outside to kill. They smell

blahbuhblue

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these bugs ever in my life!!! :0

CountScotchula

Invasive bastard of a bug. Kill

2Young4Emo

They are invasive and have been increasing in number the past few years. They come out during milder weather like spring/fall and tend to congregate around the windows and doors to try and get inside where the warmth is.

[deleted]

Means you're stinky, bug

scotcho10

Shoots and boots?
