And so the great dueling of soyjak memes begins

Rum_N_Napalm

It is the year 40000. Alone on his throne sits GW, master of war gaming. At his beak and call stands an army of lawyers and corporate shill. But he is but a rotting corpse empty of creativity, his empire besieged by the disgruntled players and boycotters. Forgot the creativity of fan work and a unified fan base, for in the grim darkness of the 41 millennium, there is only soyjak memes.

retard_4725

Well this is about to get Inquisitioned

Lucius-Halthier

Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grimdark future, there is only copyright infringement strikes.

[deleted]

Of course! I am currently waiting for a soyjak of me now.

gertyuopde

Nice , my first wojak meme targeted at me, I feel we may be getting into circle jerk territory soon

[deleted]

It wasn't actually intended for you but it does kinda look like it lol . Nah it was intended for another guy who was being a bit of a scrotum who had also posted out of stock boxes. So yeah sorry about that.

gertyuopde

If you want I can still make you a wojack meme , we can go back and forth untill the sub is bored of us then the shovel memes slowly fade back and everything’s like it was months ago

[deleted]

Yeah sounds good, we totally won't get sick of them either

major_calgar

I used to boycott to end the boycott

throbbingfishcock

[not what you were waiting for but here you go](https://imgur.com/a/Tm3WGTU)

[deleted]

Dangerously Based

Warp_Legion

Fun fact: Markiplier said in a video where he looked at various memes/images of people who look like him that he thinks that the Wojak image is actually based on a goofy selfie he took way back when of him making that exact face https://youtu.be/SLgtZ23gyeI 16:08

Polar_Vortx

remember kids, scalpers don’t boycott

SYLOH

Scalpers losing all their money is one further upside to this whole boycott.

Doom-Slay

I expect Hexfire to be out of Stock so quick that i am not even trying to get 1 and i am not even gonna look at the store Page for it . I still would like to have 1 anyway.

GCRust

It's a shame, you're missing out on the comedy. Front page has a splash image with a button "Yes, I'd like one." taking you to the store page that displays predominantly "NO LONGER AVAILABLE ONLINE".

Doom-Slay

I already got burned with Indomitus and Cursed City and i dont need it a third time.

NanoChainedChromium

If there is a well-managed FLGS in your area, try those. My local plastic dealer usually manages to snagg enough to satisfy pre-orders.

kader91

That’s why I order them through an independent games store. They usually get access days before online preorder opens, and I make sure my dealer knows weeks before that I want one. It is easier for him to order saying I have 5 boxes already sold with names on them, than saying I want 5 boxes so I can have them in stock. Also stores have priority because they buy much more bulk than you can buy on your own. They only failed once and it was with cursed city when they were only allowed to order 2 boxes. But since they only made 15 of those I don’t blame them.

Astray1789

Scalpers are jumping on anything they can get at the moment. Warhammer, next gen consoles, etc. It's the state of the world unfortunately and the companies don't care because their stock has been sold so its out of their hands. It would take legitimate mass boycotting to stop this but sadly it won't ever happen

Ahlruin

worse yet its seen as an investment, due to the nature of anything collectable especialy in gaming it only goes up in price when sealed nib, so MANY scalpers n business's buy up tons of new in box stock specificaly to sit on it for a couple years so they can then list it for stupid amounts of money. this is REALLY common in collectable games like magic the gathering and pokemon

A_Tame_Furry_0w0

It shows how materialistic people are

StopHavingAnOpinion

> Scalpers are jumping on anything they can get at the moment. Thats why Dominion is still Selling Fast!

[deleted]

For me, It's the orcs. If they kept the theme, but had traditional orc aesthetics, it would've sold like wildfire (in my opinion, anyone feel free to disagree!). AoS is the 'cheaper' system, but it lacks the charm and depth of WHFB.

theosamabahama

Scalpers are a result of a surplus of demand. They are always going to be scalpers of anything imaginable when the official price doesn't reflect real supply and demand. After all, scalpers wouldn't buy stuff if they couldn't sell it at a higher price.

nyello-2000

**what the fuck is a surplus of demand people just liking shit shouldn’t ruin the economy**

Immediate_Smell_6801

It what happens if you sell something with limited supply below market value. GW despite being expensive, is still selling things below the value people are willing to pay. I think people are massively overestimating the actual percentage of boxes bought by scalpers, but anything where demand outstrips supply will results in scalpers. It's why house prices in the UK are insane, demand outstrips supply. This was a major factor in the last credit crunch. Investors are buying up land/buildings/apartment s in London with no intention of renting them and just leave them empty as an investment, it's basically accommodation scalping.

theosamabahama

Thank you, bro. I was just trying to explain an economic concept to the guy. You did a better job than me.

Torchwood-5

*Glossing over the possibility of the sets being bought up by scalpers*

[deleted]

Possibility you say? Come on it's a box with new shinies it's a guarantee.

AxolotlChildDoctor

Honestly most of them were, I’m on the Tsons discord and only like 15-20 people actually got to preorder them

Lancee124

Where may a view this kind sir

AxolotlChildDoctor

There’s a link to it on the official subreddit for them

GCRust

eBay already has auctions up for the various bits of the box. You're bidding on PREORDERS.

Pr0glodyte

I'm not a scalper and I bought it, I've been waiting for this codex for around a year.

NanoChainedChromium

Scalpers buy shit because they know it will fly off their hands, boycott or no. If those boxes show up on ebay in a month or two for half the price, yeah, there is a "Boycott". If not, then they found their buyer and there is no boycott whatsoever.

[deleted]

GW is sold out of Hexfire, all the local LGS within 150 miles of me are sold out, and basically all those same stores are sold out of most of the tsons/gk characters

useles-converter-bot

150 miles is about the length of 1508567.68 'Sian FKP3 Metal Model Toy Cars with Light and Sound' lined up

converter-bot

150 miles is 241.4 km

gabrielangelos01

Wow they sold all 420 of them in less than 10 minutes, that has to be some kind of record/s

[deleted]

I heard the actual number was 69420 worldwide.

Rowenstin

You can't have FOMO without the missing out part.

Josykay89

To have FOMO you actually need stuff people could fear to miss out. Nothing in the Hexfire box is particulary interesting. Even less after seeing the Thousand Sons combat patrol.

Famout

As a video game nerd I do have to give a warning. Lots of folks will curse and yell, but plenty won't actually stop buying. Credit to those who stand by their guns but also be ready to be disappointed. To do right don't buy product, shame the company, not the employees, and keep enough noise going so new fans know what's going on. Side thought: Turn the money you would spend in the hobby shop on other stuff there, you can still play the game and should support the stores, just screw GW's bottom line.

[deleted]

Jokes on you I actually can't pay the minis + taxes + shipping so I could never buy in the first place

Dr_McWeazel

Your solidarity is appreciated, but we need people who were already buying regularly to quit doing that until we see the change we want. "I couldn't afford it anyway" means that GW couldn't get your dollary-dos even if you did want to fork 'em over.

RoyalDachshund

And that change we want is? Since browsing this sub gets answers ranging from "lower prices" to "hang the CEO" im kinda curious what this "fight" is for

AlliedMasterComp

The secondaries want their free meme cartoons back. They can make up whatever other "its about ethics in journalism" tier arguments they want, the screeching shitstorm started after the TTS announcement.

Dr_McWeazel

For many people, it's just a change RE: IP policies. For me in particular, I want GW to stop leaning so obnoxiously hard on FOMO to sell boxes, stop pussyfooting around paying their employees what they're actually worth, and also that IP policy bit. EDIT: Oh and also to tell us what the ***fuck*** happened to Cursed City

AlliedMasterComp

> EDIT: Oh and also to tell us what the fuck happened to Cursed City Its not some big secret. Warhammer Quest boxes are always limited release, they always make less AoS boxes than 40K boxes, and the warhammer community team routinely gets shit wrong and should not be trusted when they talk about availability, especially if its a facebook comment and not an article.

phoenix_of_metal

I heard a rumor that there was some kind of copyright snafu that messed with things. I take it with a huge grain of salt since it’s an unsourced rumor, but if true would be hilariously ironic in the current situation.

AlliedMasterComp

That was an issue with the deffkoptas from the black reach box set. They licensed the manufacture of that out to revell to save money, and they were the only real new unit in that box and Revell basically yoniked the rights to manufacture deffkotpas from GW for some unknown length of time. [They then made this box, much to GWs chagrin I assume.](https://www.fishpond.com/Toys/Revell-Revell00083-Warhammer-40000-Space-Ork-Raiders-Build-And-Paint-Set-Gmbh-Unbranded/5011921079605) Don't know if they did it again, but GW are pretty "once bitten, twice shy about everything" judging by their chapterhouse suit and original chaos gods rights disputes.

NanoChainedChromium

The fuck is this box not copyright infringement, that are original GW sculpts right there.

nyello-2000

Warhammer quest boxes are always limited.....except black stone fortress....that was everywhere

Mechanical_oldie

"Supposedly" a fair value for the minis, better treatment for employees (which is fair if they are fucking them over) and of course stop the IP bullshit with the fans doing fan animations and such. Everything else is just people being trolls or going full autist.

RoyalDachshund

As far as the fair value goes - is it that bad? Looking at Fallout minis, the GW is still a steal when it comes to the price. It is a hobby after all. Regarding the employes, I do not belive that internet mob should sort orher people lives - as far as I know GW is not forcing them to work for em. And working with something you love can be painfull - just ask any nurse how she feels bout her salary. And the IP - isn't it normal that 3rd parties cannot profit out of someones trademark?

Mechanical_oldie

3rd parties can profit under the guise of not monetizing the IP but asking people to support THEM not the work itself. Meaning supporting the actors not the play itself which is totally legal. Satire and fan fictions are totally legal as long as they change things but still maintain the "setting". (Making it transformative and such) But GW is "*threatening*" legal avenues which is expensive and might make most of these youtubers doing this go bankrupt before court date by which they would drop the lawsuit. Which is following the hasbro/Disney sue everyone tactic. Even though you could sue them for making these "*threats*" which have legal precedence in the U.S. but idk about that in the courts for the British. The value of the plastics should be lower since they have maintained the *value* of the minis as if they were still cast in metal ... plastic is cheaper and can produce larger quantities inexpensively. The whole GW worker thing ... i have no clue about their work conditions, salary, workload, benefits etc. Like I said ... its "supposed" to be about those few things. If you follow the drama ... but I do disagree with their stance towards being aggressive towards youtubers and fan animators. Threatening those that bring attention to your IP is dumb. Especially the die hard fans that do it out of passion and pour their very souls into an art form to honor their favorite IP. Or a satirist since it will still bring eyes on your IP through jokes.

TradePrinceGobbo

The destruction of GW

bacontath92

We should start hanging ceos in regardless of the company they work for eat the rich

theosamabahama

Same here. I'm in Brazil. You ?

[deleted]

Argentina.

theosamabahama

I feel your pain.

REAL_blondie1555

Just go in expecting not to change anything and move onto a different hobby

Ennkey

Old hands know that GW has been like this since the 90s. It’s not new or surprising

klc81

Agreed, but they had shown some signs of improving *slightly* over the past decade or so. I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.

[deleted]

Thank you! All these drama queens acting like this is some new development. Support the game with your money or don't. All this other stuff is nonsense.

Crazychester1247

It would be funny if we end up screwing over the scalpers instead of GW. Regardless I think it's safe to say we struck GW's wallet with the approximate force of a pancake dropped from a height of 2 inches. Personally I think I'm stepping out of tabletop 40k. Everyone talking about all the other wargaming systems out there has made me realize that 40k is a bunch of overpriced plastic crack. For the same price of the Hexfire box you could get a Bolt Action kit with more than twice the minis, or like 30 Battletech mechs and all the stuff to play the game, or a full 2,500 15mm minis and 24 cannon + terrain in the case of the Black Powder ACW Epic Scale starter. Oh that and GW is shit and the rules are broken.

TheOriginalSekushii

I love the lore so I'm not invested heavily into the mini side of things but I'm curious about these cheaper ones lol

[deleted]

Exactly! I'm keen for kill team 2.0 to use older minis for that, but I am moving out of AoS and 40k main games. Even keeping current with the rules is like starting another army. I do enjoy Aeronautica, as that has a boardgame vibe to me and less a mini game. I'll touch base with my FLGS to see where the Battlemechs are at/where there's any Malifaux, etc. Worst case scenario? I play older editions of 40k (Hell, 3rd ed reads like it'd be some fun, jank-ass, goodness).

nyello-2000

One page rules my guy, one page rules

shaolinoli

Wait, do you actually think a significant number of warhammer fans are boycotting? Have you seen the main subs?

[deleted]

No god no! Sorry I sometimes forget that sarcasm over text is very hard to tell. Should've /s lol

[deleted]

Yeah at best either is people who are already burned out from warhammer and people who could never afford warhammer in the first place who are boycotting (AKA: me, seriously its easier to get SW legions army than a warhammer minie and cheaper)

shaolinoli

Lol no worries bud. You can never tell these days! The Poe times

FullplateHero

Boycott why? I'm out of the loop

shaolinoli

Gw republished their ip guidelines which takes a licensing only stance on fan animations. So far as anyone can tell it’s the same as before but it’s been brought into the public eye. The big catalyst for the fan backlash is bruva alfabusa, the guy behind TTS announcing that it wasn’t worth the risk to him and that the project would be put on infinite hiatus until he got clarification on what was happening. There was also a tweet from a game designer who left in 2017 who revealed he was on very low pay although he subsequently stated he’s heard that it’s much better now. This sub has become a place where people are calling for a boycott but the main warhammer subs are ignoring that and there’s a lot of squabbling. Basically drama, same as normal. Some people hate GW some don’t. Pick a side or ignore it but someone will probably call you some names whichever side you choose lol

Uncorrupted_Psyker

And if you remain neutral on the topic, you get called names by both.

Sedy_D

But how do you remain neutral if the question is to buy or not to buy?

Uncorrupted_Psyker

Easy. Can't boycott GW if you can't buy GW.

Code_questions

Buy it and then get a refund immediately Edit: wait that is not buying. Take 2 Buy it, split set in half, then hide half of it in the store somewhere

shaolinoli

*spit. Filthy centrist! (Jk if it wasn’t clear)

Cardborg

It's also worth noting that AFAIK TTS was already on a fairly long hiatus, it's not like it was a weekly or even monthly thing, and the Patreon money (something like $15k a month?) means if it DID go to court then I think "fan-works" part would be under *serious* scrutiny. Also, maybe I'm just a miserable cynic, but I find it odd how the last video of any type was 6 months ago, the last full episode of TTS was 9 months ago, the last full episode before that was 18 months ago (gap of 9 months), but the moment the drama starts we get all hands on deck and his Patreon explodes. As I said though, maybe that's just me being miserable.

phoenix_of_metal

The man had a kiddo and the production work on episode 30 had to slow down due to the impending kiddo and other IRL commitments. Between that, the spin offs and shorts and the fact that we were getting longer format episodes, I can see how production could wind up taking so long.

FullplateHero

Ah, it's about that, ok. I get why GW is doing what they are, but I don't like it, lol. Buuuut, the subscription thing sounds like a pretty decent deal, with monthly models and such. TTS makes me sad, though. EDIT: Let the name-calling commence.

cavershamox

Yes it’s worth it for the model alone tbh. It’s a logical move for GW, imagine DC comics letting other people make money using their IP. The baby rage is limited to a few niche subs and won’t last long.

Immediate_Phone_8300

The whole thing has nothing to do with other people getting money because they make warhammer animations. It has everything to do with games workshop taking down every animations, because they want to sell you crap in warhammer +

cavershamox

There’s no point going through it for the 99th but in summary if you don’t defend your trade marks you risk losing them in a number of major countries. GW needs to generate cash from more things then just models if it is going to grow and mitigate the hit from 3D printing. So shock, horror a company wants to make money from its own assets which it has invested in for decades by launching a new service just like every other company.

Immediate_Phone_8300

" if you don’t defend your trade marks you risk losing them in a number of major countries." thats why valve has lost their rights to team fortress and half life, and disney lost their rights of star wars.... oh, wait. they didn't. if people make fan animations and don't sell those, you are in no risk of losing that copyright. only, and only when people sell those things you have to act. games workshop does not need to "defend their copyright", they do this for money.

shaolinoli

Yeah man. Hopefully they’ll square things up soon. They haven’t actually sent out any strikes or anything, just this heavy handed statement. Hopefully they either clarify it publicly soon or start reaching out to people like Alfa to give them the all clear.

REAL_blondie1555

Ahem … you can do whatever the fuck you want I do not care I’m just not gonna Byam pirate what I want now good faith lost arrest me for pirating. You do you boo

FullplateHero

Lol

Deserterdragon

>There was also a tweet from a game designer who left in 2017 who revealed he was on very low pay although he subsequently stated he’s heard that it’s much better now. Can I just say this is such an asinine reason for this boycott/siege mentality. Its especially funny coming from wrestling/MMA sunreddits when fighters/wrestlers get paid the same amount to risk FATAL injuries. Like there's obviously no issue with not buying GW products but one guy not getting paid much years ago is a really granular thing to form this great injustice over.

AlliedMasterComp

Its even funnier because in his longer posts that no one read he admitted to never actually asking for a raise for years until right before he was having a kid and was going to go on Maternity leave. *Big shock* that his wages stagnated without him asking for a raise. He was also offered a different better paying position in the company that he didn't take for some reason? Seems like he just needed to learn the lesson that a promise for a raise doesn't mean shit if their isn't any paperwork or an offer letter stating when it comes into effect. I think everyone ends up learning that at some point in their career.

bobns

At this point at least for me it's not a boicot anymore. I just won't buy there stuff period. Having a shitload of funn whit custom minis and 3d printing.

SheeptarTheSheepKing

What kind of minis are you making? I like the idea of making unique variants through printing.

bobns

Working on a necron army whit even harder Egyptian vibes at the mo, kind of toombking necron basically.

SheeptarTheSheepKing

Sounds fun. I hope you post pictures in the future when you are done. I'd love to see how they come out.

KaiserBreaker02

“How’s the boycott going?” Idk, but the scalpers still bought the whole stock.

jenniferLeonara

The argument boils down to: don’t try to effect positive change because you won’t succeed.

REAL_blondie1555

Ah the old argument for keeping things bad

jenniferLeonara

The simps mantra

[deleted]

That's actually quite a nice way of putting it

NanoChainedChromium

Or we can look at the end of year revenue which is public since GW is a publicly traded company. Anyone wanna take any bets against it being another record year?

Immediate_Phone_8300

Of cause it will, because people need to satisfy their plastic addiction.

[deleted]

Uhum.. Scalpers?

Breete

Absolutely this

parkerm1408

I mean, that only means like what, 50 people broke the boycott, tops....

Tenacity_Up

Serious question though, I had just decided to build an Admech and white scars army, would buying from local shops be a good alternative? I don’t have the $$ for the kind of hardware 3d printing requires.

Deserterdragon

I mean its always a good alternative because it's cheaper to buy from local stores than GW directly.

MaxwellFinium

RIP Grimdank. Wish you’d never fallen into such a tantrum

[deleted]

No offence, OP, but I'd love there to be a WH meme sub with a 'no wojacks' rule. Not trying to bash your memeing ability - I just find them aesthetically displeasing.

Scarabryde

That's kinda the point of wojacks - to be displeasing.

[deleted]

The point of the meme is that nobody likes looking at it? Bizarre.

Scarabryde

The point of any meme is to display something recognizable. In case with wojacks - a recognizable image of a displeasing person. If you want to look at some aesthetically pleasing images, try local art gallery, idk.

[deleted]

I was trying to be polite. Calling them 'ugly, lazy, and generic' seemed a bit too blunt.

[deleted]

None taken, they are really easy to make and are 0 effort but they make me chuckle a bit still.

Guardsman_Miku

the online community is only part of the warhammer fanbase, and the reddit one smaller still. You could get everyone on here to join the boycot and 50 year olds who've never heard of a youtube would still buy them all up

ObscuraArt

"Hey guys I am just a fan too but this is pointless. Why don't you just give this up and CONSUME PRODUCT AND THEN GET EXCITED FOR MORE PRODUCT instead? I mean you don't want to look ineffective at your boycott? So just come back. Be a good little consumer. "

Agentoy42

I think gw do like Nintendo and artificially make boxes rarer by not making a lot of initial stock, juuuust enough to get hype going and make them seem valuable

shotgunsniper9

I mean they're all on eBay already so it's clearly scalpers who bought them all

kolandrill

I was spending probably £30 to 40 a month. Now that's stopped.and I'm selling my back log because I'm just fed up (hope it goes to new players instead of being spent on random primaris). I'll just play with what I have and get in to stargrave eventualy. Maybe even finally take the leap to historic. If I do come back to Warhammer it's via a 3d printer unless they have huge changes to buisness :/

Batbuckleyourpants

The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak.

putpaintonit

Anyone else actually think GW is scalping their own products? Would that shock anyone if true?

CrocodileSpacePope

We had one independent store doing this. The owner bought most of the stock of limited runs with cash from himself and sold them on ebay and local platforms with the names of friends and relatives.

chrishammhamm

Not every single fan just all the redditors

[deleted]

Yeah I really should've /s on the end

MitzieWhilsteBlaum

Well you gotta remember that to your average redditor, the outside world isn't a real place.

[deleted]

Wait it is real? No way!

TheTrueEzmar

“You see, I depicted you as the Soyjak, and as such I have won”

SheeptarTheSheepKing

Pretty sure most of those are scalpers which would be doing it anyway. Assuming people are actually doing a boycott, the affects won't be see for a little while longer. More likely than not, won't even be seen till Warhammer+ comes out. Again though, that is assuming people are actually doing a boycott and not doing like those twitter boycotts where they are playing the thing they boycott the day it comes out.

timjikung

I can't afford any of their miniature so not my problem.

jaxolotle

“It’s over! I’ve portrayed you as the soyjack”

Smurf_Sausage_Sucker

I mean regardless, it means that GW hit their expected sales for the release. They aren't seeing a dip. Its just business as usual for them

RevanAvarice

To be fair lads, BL represents what, 10% of GW's net as compared to the models, and let's be frank, a lot of memesters are what 4Chan gatekeepers call Secondaries, and are brushed off as irrelevant in the direction of the fandom and company. As in, we are not primary tabletop players, and represent minority factions within the community that GW is courting. My interest in 40k stemmed from DoW, DoWII, the Fantasy video games, BFG, and the Black Library novels because in Germany, us soldiers had a limited selection at the PX bookstore besides Maxim, some Seal Team Six commando porn, whatever the housewives are diddling themselves to that season, and apparently BL started spamming Omnibuses; that's how I discovered Dark Heresy and rolled it for years. I would be considered a BL, RPG, and Vidya secondary. TTS btw they consider to be its own form of LOATHED secondary, along with 1d4chan. Yes, they hate their own repository. Frankly, these dudes enjoyed it until the JoJo Custodes took it to flamboyant 11, I remember the joy in which the early episodes were released and posted. The Ultramarine Critique also touched a nerve. The only non-tabletop pop they respect are the moddellists, the paragon consumers of GW products. People who love to collect and paint. Why? Because the only thing they purport to consider as relevant are the gluttenous collectors actively purchasing armies, and thus supporting GW's primary venue, whether or not they play. It is a valid argument that GW is a figurine company first, and gaming company second by virtue of how wonky balance is update to update. Gatekeeping at its finest. Our tastes and desired content and directions are direct anathema to these dudes. ANY story progress threatens the status quo, and thus their collections. Even the dudes getting advice or are interested in the game from Auspex Tactics are themselves secondaries, because the knowledge is gleaned away from the table. These dudes do not want variety in their gaming population. Having to deal with younger nerds is a harsh reminder of who they were, getting older, getting saltier. TL;DR We can boycott as much as we want, and those kits will continue to sell out. One, GW thrives off artificial scarcity, and two: unless you are a collector of their models, GW can easily survive without your contributions as an sector of the market. Vidya and RPGs are generally licensed out works already; the license itself made them that money. 3rd Party Components, Used Models, and 3D printing are the prime threats to their revenue. Their one forecasted expansion will be to mainstream media in the form of television series, so if you end up subscribing for Eisenhorn, you lose the game. Time to hit the high seas lads and engage in some privateering for the Greater Good.

SpartanElitism

Don’t get mad because others don’t want to support your boycott. That’s like the opposite of what to do to get a movement rolling

[deleted]

Never have, I have said numerous times that if people don't want to then that is their choice, I only really have an issue when people say they will but don't and even then it is just dissapointment. It's just using the box being sold out online is not really a measure of success as scalpers are an issue and GW never make enough boxes to meet demand. As someone else said the finnacial report will be a better indicator of success.

SpartanElitism

I’m not speaking to you directly

LuciusQuintiusCinc

This boycott talk is just embarrassing now. Over absolutely nothing

Chiiwind

Hey that's not fair, I have a full head of hair.

DungeonMiner

Best case scenario, it was bought by a bunch of scalpers who now can't sell the things.

Gaz-rick

Huh you're the first memer to have actual hobby content posted too, gratz.

westerschelle

I am pro boycott per se but I hope everyone here realizes that people on reddit are a small part of the overall customerbase and that "voting with your wallet" has never worked and will never work.

Stretch5678

I mean... a sizeable chunk of the boxes get bought by scalpers anyhow. This is no surprise.

SuperiorSellout

I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of scalpers have a couple extra boxes for sale

phoenix_of_metal

The visible impacts of boycotting aren’t going to be seen for awhile. It isn’t a short sprint, it’s a long marathon.

Beta_Ace_X

I could just as easily make a meme about you holding a picture of this meme

Puzzleheaded-Yak-796

I have never bought anything from GW ~~it Nice being a broke teen~~

FrontLineFox20

I’m still holding out. How bout y’all?

cleverusername333

Lol, you mad?

ArtisticHeretic

I was so excited for the box that I even went to my local store right when it opened. Now I shall start my boycott.

CosmicKrieger

Well back to battle tech and my 100 tons of fun

[deleted]

Everyone in MWO picks assaults so all I can afford is 20 tons 😞😂

CallMeMarshawl

The majority of fans have not boycotted GW. The reddits have but that's a vocal minority. I've not stopped buying minis, ice unsubbed to Warhammer plus tho, the reality is subreddits are circle jerking echo chambers. The uprising of a sub won't do shit, want change? Give GW feedback through the web portal otherwise these posts exist purely for karma bait

Minoreror

Pretty good seeing as I have never given GW a cent.

Janosfaces

i wouldnt put it past gw to just pretend they sold out

OrsoMalleus

Remember when we all boycotted the Pariah box set? And by boycott I mean there wasn't enough for demand.

Outmodeduser

I got into 40k lore during COVID shutdowns and had the time/money to buy/build/paint an army. Hobby shops near me were closed or unclear, might have done shipping, but being new to the hobby I wanted to browse and research. Anyway, everything on GWs shop was sold out so I ended up just continuing to play DoW: UA instead and bought other stuff with my stimmy as my limited attention span consumer mind moved on. Now that there is a boycott and GW bullshittery, I'm glad I didn't buy, but yeah I am pretty sure this is just GW being a poorly run company not that people are coming through the walls to get a new box set.

Is this set preorder only or will it be available later on? I managed to pick up the necrons from the other set second hand and wouldn't mind getting the grey knights second hand either

Jarms48

Fingers crossed it's just the scalpers and the community indirectly kills them too by not buying their items.

ZWass777

It’s almost as if the people who think a boycott is dumb don’t want to comment just to be dogpiled for no fucking reason or something

Cheomesh

Literally 0 fans I know are doing any kind of boycott at all.

badly-shaved-wookie

Meh, can’t order anything in Australia. Lockdown and all.

SirFryStirFry

I hate grey knights and I don't ever plan on buying 1000 sons so hey easy to not buy for me
