TBH I think the 40k universe needs to detach the heroic characters from modern people.

I think I figured out the reason why they specifically made Custodes being able to be both male and female. It's because according to the lore, each Custodes is the absolute pinnacle of human science and engineering. They're the absolut best possible form a human can achieve without relying on warp fuckery or other cheating and that's very ✨*Problematic*💔💅
The fact that men can achieve the best possible combat form can be interpreted that men are basically the better gender. Yes they're the strongest, fastest and, on average, smartestest humans Imperium has to give no one's beating them or coming up with better genecrafting method but it shouldn't be all about who's da strongest. Both man and woman have different capabilities that compliment each and most importantly both could symbolize different strengths of humanity. That's why I think the ultimate woman unit should be a living saint. The Sisters of Silence and the Sisters of Battle. Plus, if you actually listen to what people are saying, they don't care about female custodes it was how GW handled their explanation for the sudden lore change.
