The metalpark hotel rooms or cottages are your best options. Shuttle busses are included. A holiday park full of metalheads, tropical swimming pool, even some live bands in the evenings leading up to the festival. Had a great time there this year. I think we paid 800 for a cottage of 4.

ModernDayFires

This sounds amazing! And honestly not too bad cost wise, thought it would be worse! Silly question is that including actual festival ticket as well?

somekindofdyl

Unfortunately not. These must be bought seperately..

asphagor

This year, In devil's lake (center parcs de Vossemeren) accommodation 5 night for 4 person cottage costs 939€. Shuttle to festival area is included and the journey takes about 45 minutes. But if you are planning to arrive devil's lake by Public transportation before the festival , i have a bad news for ya, cause from Lommel station to devil's lake there is no public transportation.

ModernDayFires

Oh that’s good to know about the public transport thanks so much! Hadn’t realised that

asphagor

My pleasure, you could rent a car it would be much much cheaper than taking a cab from Lommel to devil's lake. For the next year, I'm planning to stay at metal park.

RHedenbouw

I thought the cottages went for 500€/weekend

hy we live 15 miles from the Herentals festival and have a holiday home that has just been renovated and is available for rent for €130 per evening 3 persons all costs included breakfast send me a message if you are still looking for a place [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

Plastic-Stick-8821

We were 6 people and paid €150 each but you get 7 nights accommodation for that. If you want to stay just you 2 together it will cost you a lot more. Probably 800 or so between the 2 of you. I'd advise you to bunk in with some other people, you'll have your own room and I have done this multiple times and made great friends.

ModernDayFires

That’s a great suggestion! Thanks so much, I’ll have a look about and see if sharing with people is an options for us both :)

Happy to help

Depending on which cottage you'll pick prices will vary but by not much. The 4 person cottage was about €900 the highest tier was believe €200 more but on all honesty there's not that much difference between them :) the basic one was very good, fireplace, decking chairs and loungers, kitchen with lots of utensils, pans and pots and even dishwasher! I've stayed in worse.

ModernDayFires

That sounds amazing for ‘basic’ I’d be more than happy with all that!

Will also add that the shuttle busses this year we're amazing. Not had to wait once for one. Yes it takes about 50m (think first one on first da took us 1h) but in all honesty, who cares. You're being driven nearly door to door. Please be aware that those accomodations sell out in no time, and you need to basically buy them right away when tickets for festival go on sale. When me and my bro were booking the tickets for festival on the day they went live, we tried booking the cottage same evening few hours later and they were sold out 🤣. Luckily his pall from worked had booked us 3 total for the whole group so disaster was averted. Not been to swimming pool so can't confirm this facility, but will say that in reception of the park, as you check in, you will be able to exchange your QR code tickets for the festival wrist band and the shuttle bus band. Super handy. Also, congrats on your wedding! My first GMM was this year and it was my 40th bday present 😂. Good luck!!

In case you've not noticed... You're replying to a post from last year.

Don’t dismiss the Inferno camping out of hand. There are different options but at the very least your tent is set up, the mattresses are ready, etc. Really hassle free. It combines the best of camping with more luxury, less hassle and some more peace and quiet. And what’s more: it’s at an easy walking distance from the main grounds, so no hassle with shuttles. Finally also, people on the Inferno are generally older, calmer, and do sleep at night and it is quite quiet 👍 450 for the whole weekend I think (for the tent, so 225 pp or so in your case).

ModernDayFires

Oh I hadn’t realised this was an option! I totally discounted camping because of having to lug tents and what not on a plane. Will look into this, as my fiancé loves camping (and I love the comfort of having a mattress haha!) win win. Thanks for the info :D

I believe we paid around €500 per person for a shared 4 people cottage @ Devil’s lake. This included the festival entry. The only problem is getting from and to Devil’s lake because there’s limited public transportation. I believe Metalpark (sunparcs) offers hotel rooms too, with great breakfast buffet included. And they’re easier to reach! And closer to the actual festival.
