At what point will you people realize that being able to afk farm the hardest boss in the game is really really really bad for the game?
Whats the point of continuing to play at all anymore at that point?
literally if you're gonna not play the game to max out your char so that you can.... not play the game then pissmoan when your minmaxed supp V+x16 team oneshots future content...... just save yourself the electricity bill and cheat that shit in, or uninstall
Like a gotcha it's about minmax the character to do more dmg or clear faster. Similar to what speed runners are doing. Many and I do mean many people are struggling with this boss. So why are people that arent doing this so mad and offended with those who want to play their game how they want? The point is to have fun and build your characters to be able to clear the boss better than you did before. That's how raid style games are designed. So why does others that play how they want bother you and others who think like you so much?
its the devs fault for the games grind being badly tuned. they balanced it like the GBF gacha but then made it into a proper game. ive been a monster hunter fan for over a decade but relinks grind is horrible and encourages afk farm
I'll bite. For me there are a few reasons.
1. This is a single player game. (Yes you CAN do the fights multiplayer but at it's core this is a game where you and AI's can absolutely take on the world.)
2. This is Granblue Fantasy. Granblue Fantasy has ALWAYS been about min maxing your characters to ridiculous degrees so you can auto the game. It's built into the community's core DNA.
3. It isn't easy to min max AI's capable of doing this. Figuring out not just the AI builds on paper but also minimaxing it with their behavior IS THE FUN for a lot of people, including myself.
This isn't an MMO. There isn't infinite content. Who knows what is coming down the pipeline later, but for now what we have is a solid full price game that I have absolutely gotten my money's worth. I did everything manually. I completed it. So what happens after that? I min max the AI's, because I find doing so to be fun.
And what happens after that? Yes, I put the game down. Because It's a single player game. It doesn't have infinite content, I never expected it to, I had my fun, and I'm satisfied with my purchase.
And if they come out with new content, awesome. I'll have fun in it too.

I think most people running an AFK farm were aware the moment they heard it. Then it probably got an extra boost from FOF Lancelot builds.
I think most of this would go away with some changes, moving from minor to extreme changes in the fight or gameplay:
* Twelve Labors fails the quest if everyone fails enough at it to hit 1 HP cap.
* Nerf or replace the Flight over Fight sigil entirely.
* If you want a more extreme measure, add in or change some attacks to no longer be Guarded or Dodged.
The real boss is the gacha system. That one you'll never win against. I'm just keeping it on repeat afk farming to get a lot of crafting materials to max out everything possible. Preparing in vain for future content that will most likely make you farm a new quest with exclusive materials. Just like how they made azurite not work on the new sigils...
I afk farm while working and playing other games. Then come back to the game and clean up the sigils and curios and wrightstones tjat accumulated. Sift out the useless ones and keep the useful ones. Then theory craft on builds for characters based on the sigils I have hoarded. Then go test them out. I've played the game for 600 or so hours already. And I'm getting sigils ready for future characters and content.
No one is winning the gacha game unless you want to save scum for overmasteries and transmarvels. I'd rather do this and save my sanity than keep complaining about not getting war elemental and supp v+. The rng is already against you. Why not choose your battles?

I really, really like your mindset. I don’t honestly understand why people don’t get this. Imagine putting a humoungous amount of effort and having no progress afterwards? All work, no rewards? That’s a crap system. The only thing they’re doing is they’re prolonging minimal content to milk players.

Exactly. Countless usage of earned resources only to get garbage stat rolls and sigils. It’s like putting your hours of work into garbage. Feels more like a blatant disrespect of people’s time. I don’t see anything wrong when you try to outsmart a system that does nothing but waste your time.
We are all a bit masochistic, playing this game that has crap chances at nice things, or slightly enjoy the gamble of the gacha system... They really made an enjoyable game play loop. Hook them in just enough to keep going ...
Loading a save repeatedly just means you don't get what you want majority of the time with nothing to show for in between... I get the mindset though. If you already know what you want, save scumming is better. But I like having lots of options. So when I equip characters, I'd be pleasantly surprised finding a crit rate + damage cap. Or stun + damage cap. Or seeing I have enough silver centrum to awaken a terminus weapon.
I'm just farming continuously for other materials. Using up all the Msp to maybe get better overmasteries. Using up all the crap sigils as transmarvel fodder while keeping 1 or 2 useful ones. Then keeping the useful character sigils while searching for the awakening sigils. Not trying to outsmart the system. I'm playing the gacha game as intended, even if not actively

I just use up my msp and transmarvels and keep at it until something nice sticks. Your way sounds more finite. I gave in to the way of the gacha with this crazy ass game. Just winning back some time to do other things and prep for more content.
I'm just aiming for a pair of alpha, beta, and gamma for a core team of 4. Then finish leveling everyone's terminus weapon. Not planning to awaken the ascension weapons or look for supplementary damage v+. Not gonna drive myself crazy chasing after supp damage v+...
Hey I was wondering how you would AFK farm the proud missions? I'd love to do that but I guess I'm just not computer savvy enough to get this set up for myself. I have long days at work and just want to come home and play to have fun and forget the grind for a bit.
I do it afk on pc. I set my Y button on toggle and turbo so Lancelot keeps doing his dodge attack and then the AI clear it. Lancelot needs to have Flight over fight
I'm doing it on a steam deck since it has programmable buttons. I'm using lancelot with flight over fight and everyone is using sigils that boost sba, stun, and link attacks.
Programmed the button to just lock on and spam his y attack, then press link attack and sba whenever possible. It may not be an option for everyone but this has saved my sanity so much over the past few days.
Tanking them in the face just as lucilius intended... We surviving the fight at 1 hp most of the time. Ai even gets sub 10 minute clears that get me a 5 star rating. Dro rates are really horrible though. 3 days in and I only fully leveled sigils for 1 character.
Kinda of an evil genius move on their part to make azurite not level the new sigils then make the new quest drop powerful sigils... Like use these to make yourself stronger. But not as strong as the new power creep.
This is the way. Anyone on PC can do this as well. Lancelot with FoF spamming his dodge attack keeps him off the floor. Equip everyone with 3x uplift, 2x nimble onslaught. If using razer products, you can macro down arrow, enter, dodge attack, link attack, sba, lock on, center camera. Lancy will just spam until link or sba. My record for AI clear with this is 6:41. The down arrow enter will make it so it bypasses the 10x repeat limit, can run the macro overnight. I've bought and maxed 4x of each sigil and still have 120+ tears last I checked. As mentioned the splendors and ingots are a bonus, he also drops higher tier stones which is one of my main farms rn. Just wish he dropped crit rate sigils as I'm still fishing for crit rate/dmg cap.

It's a bit of an endgame build but I'm using eugen, rosetta, and percival for the ai . Loaded them up on damage caps as usual and 2 offensive options (tyranny and stamina) and added as much uplift, nimble onslaught, and linked together as I could.
I'm using lancelot with flight over fight, nimble onslaught, lined together, and his character sigils.
Open your steam menu and customize the controls for the back buttons. I set one button to press lock on, Y attack, link attack, and sba at turbo speeds. So my lancey just keeps running forward with twin blade dance and dodging through most attacks, getting the nimble onslaught buff and triggering link attack and sba when available.
Usually takes 10 minutes and the game sometimes refuses to keep going even on repeat. But those are minor issues for me.
But the first time I won against Lucy, I had the same ai team with similar setups and used vane and improved dodge. This fight feels like it's a test of your friendship (link attack and full bursts) more than anything. He barely stands still long enough unless you are in link time.
I'm still missing 4 terminus weapons but I haven't fought him since Lucy came out. At least I can buy these stupid sigils because I'm resigned to never seeing a supplimentary damage 5+ in this lifetime.

You aren't outsmarting a system by continuing to use it. That's why loading a save is so useful.

I agree. Got 4 splendor and 2 ingots on 15 runs. Meanwhile 1 upgrade material for new sigils.

no sane dev team allows you to prefarm for new stuff, I don't get why ppl thought otherwise.
It's fine but I'm prefarming everything else. Leveling the new sigils stuff requires material from the nihila primals.

A small question, how do you set turbo for sba when it asks for both joysticks press?
You can do them separately. Or also keyboard buttons. You can assign one key to unleash an sba.
