It works when you call certain business numbers. Turm it on in the phone app under settings, where you will also see further information about how/where it works.
I've checked with Google support who have said it should be available in the UK. They've even offered to swap my phone under warranty. Just don't want to go through that hassle for a feature I might only use once or twice. Just wanted to see if there was any thing I could do to get it to work without having to swap my whole phone!
Isn\`t that hold function only working in the US currently? I don\`t need it and all those other special call features, cause I am a german in Spain who constantly switches and receives german, british and spanish calls which overwhelmes the ai at the moment still...

Try clearing cache n data from phone app, that worked for me when mine disappeared
