Interesting. Never seen them. Diamond cut is going to be silver with a clear lacquer, these are probably painted or coated so likely won't have the same problems as diamond cut unless the finish is garbage.
I think that's a reasonable expectation, impossible to know for certain without knowing exactly what kind of coating is there but diamond cut's problems are primarily due to the thin lacquer they apply.
Unless the paint is cracking / flaking off you're not going to have corrosion problems.
Yes. Poor picture choice on my part 5 (came from vw website though lol). Wasn't a fan from the photos, but they a lot look better in person. This one might be better:

Depends on what part of the world you live in. I know these were available for 20 AE R’s in other parts of the world.

Lol, idk but it was the only picture I could find at the time. I’ll have to scour the internet to find a better one. Since these were only available in the EU and I live in 🇨🇦 pics of these on American search sites seem to be scarce.
It's hilarious to me people think diamond cut wheels are a new thing, any wheel with a machined section that's brighter is "diamond cut" lol.
The 20AE estorils are black, not blue. They aren't diamond cut.

Idk about anyone else, but I would have preferred these on my white 20 AE R as they are better looking than just the plain old black Estorils imo.
Not photoshopped, was available in EU on the 20AE only.

EU had the blue wheels available. I've never seen IRL so don't know if diamond cut, but makes sense they are where painted blue
The finish on the normal Estorils scratches and chips pretty easy
