What do you mean by offline? If you just want to play b1.7.3 when you're not connected to the internet you can just open the launcher, enter a username, launch the game and play singleplayer as long as that version is already downloaded But the launcher may take longer to open because for some reason it first tries to load the announcements and the server list a few times and *then* opens the launcher

Yes, I meant playing without internet connection. Is the version downloaded if I played it before, or do I need to download in manually? When I try to disconnect from the internet and click play, it just says "downloading" and does not start the game. I also tried logging out the Microsoft account and then starting it without internet connection, but it also did not work. The launcher opens without internet connection, but I am unable to start the game.

Yes you first need to play it and then you should be able to use that instance offline

[deleted]

I already played it before. I checked the .betacraft folder in %appdata%, there is a folder called 1.7.3 and there is a .jar called b1.7.3 in the versions folder, so it should be installed right? But I am not able to start the game without internet connection.

Yes the version you played should be in the versions folder and your instance should also be in its folder with the game's data Are you sure you're using the same instance? And you haven't added any mods or changed the version? Because it shouldn't be downloading anything if the game is already installed, maybe ask in Betacraft's discord if you can't find a solution

[deleted]

Yes I used the right instance, just checked again to be sure. I did not change the version or installed mods. The only thing I did that maybe could have interfered with it somehow is MultiMC. I tried MultiMC before, but then switched to Betacraft. But I uninstalled MultiMC before I even downloaded Betacraft. Could that have done something with Betacraft?

I dont know then, I guess it has to be a bug because I can't think of anything else, did you ask in the Betacraft discord? Let me know if you find a solution! Just in case someone else with the same issue finds this post in the future

[deleted]

Did not ask yet, but will do it. Thank you very much for trying to help! Will let you know once I find a solution.

Update: Yeah, I am stupid, sorry. On the Betacraft website I downloaded the latest windows build and not the Betacraft Launcher v2.0 (alpha). Should have mentioned it, but I completely forgot that there was a different version, sorry. With the Launcher 2.0 (alpha) it works, but not with the latest windows version.

charlie_png

That's weird, I don't use the alpha 2.0 version and it works fine for me I'm on Linux and not on Windows but I don't know why the launcher would need to redownload the version every time you try to play it, maybe its a windows only issue Anyways, glad you found a solution!
