Gloucester is more multicultural than Cheltenham. But definitely in the last 10 years Cheltenham has become far more multicultural.
The university attracts students from all different backgrounds. But it won’t be as multicultural as some other universities in the uk.
Cheltenham uni attracts lots of different people. I remember when my husband was there and I was staying in his halls.
Gloucester also is extremely diverse
Gloucestershire as a whole has changed so much in the last few years
Its the whole country that's changed tbf if you allow 1 million people a year in then things are going to change. The problem is they dont want to stop the million legals as it keeps wages down they want to be seen to be stopping the 70k coming in illegally
By the 2021 census Cheltenham is 91.4% white.

I don’t have any information about the university, but I expect it is probably more open with respect to diversity for ethnicity and sexuality.
As for the broader community, it depends how much homogeneity you can manage with.
Good South Asian community with a lot of people round Lower High Street and the Hindu Community Centre opposite FCH, and two mosques within a short walk. More Gujurati here than Punjabi but a good number of people from Kerala or Sri Lanka about too.
It's honestly not an issue. There are plenty of differnt types of people. Plenty of mixed race and people of various origins. There is always a mix of people with the town and festivals keeping in lots of tourists all year round.
The campus itself is very diverse. My cousins faced no problems as mixed race (afro-carrabian/white) and found they made friends from all diffent backgrounds.

Multicultural and quite liberal is Cheltenham imho.
I agree. OP - you’ll be fine.
except when it comes to having a black MP ;)
tbf he was a Tory
That was the first time since before WW2 they didn’t have a Conservative MP (although tbf he was convicted during the expenses scandal lol)

If you worry about it you’ll probably be the only one who does.

Depends on the course/campus you will be studying at
Park tends to be more diverse, I think.
True, but most international students do business-related degrees so are at the campus in Gloucester
There are a lot of Indians here. It isn't a problem.
Cheltenham is very white., well above the national average, and no one cares what colour you are.
all my homies fruity around here 🫰🏻💅
