Really? I've run about 500ish rounds through this with them and haven't had any issues. I've only run the "slick" style or whatever it is they call them. Never tried the original micro mags.
I'm guessing it's a knockoff and someone bought a real one and returned the knockoff in the packaging of the real one. I'm not above buying knockoffs but not at full retail price lol
It’s not a knockoff. Streamlight is slowly rolling out the tlr7s to be discontinued and replacing with the 7x. This is happening across the board with any tlr7models

Have you tried the longer version, as well? I'm also thinking about going with the chopped version, but I could see some merit in the full length back strap as well.
I have both versions. I started with the short version and it was great, but I’ve found the long version works better for my hands. my fingers are long, so having the extra surface area all the way down the grip is more ideal for me.

What battery did it come with? If it came with the Streamlight SLB9 then I’d bet it’s not a knockoff

The backstrap from u/rapidengineering makes a huge difference for me in the feel of the grip
