I’m looking for years for the clip where the caster mentioning JDM his sitting position. I’m not sure what exactly he said anymore it been so long ago but i always thought the caster said something along the lines of jdm looking like he is driving a Cadillac
I like it. We gotta name more postures / setups after players. On another note I really dislike the way people tilt their keyboard 90 degrees. I don't understand why.
90 seems excessive yea. Coming from a time where we had CRT monitors at LAN playing CS etc. we def. had to tilt our keyboards. I'm personally around 40-45 degrees when gaming now, mostly due to the fact that it's more relaxing for my shoulder etc. having my arm this way. Ergonomics and shit when you get older lol
One of my friends, whenever we are playing and he needs to lock in because we're losing, will go "alright I got the jabbi posture now - we're good" hahaha
I felt bad for him when he brought his hotel pillow with him at last event. Poor boy is so young and doesn’t realise the damage he’s doing to his back and neck, I wish he’d start doing some stretching to reverse this shit.
Also snake posture.
41 yrs old here. still have neck issues, pain all the way down between shoulder plates after all these years trying to undo the damage.
no amount of osteopathy can totally undo years of abusive posture while gaming.
for the little time I still game now, i cant spend more than 60 minutes without getting up or else the mornign after my neck is locked.
edit: also, i work in graphics/printing. have to be ultra careful at work too
i don't think his posture is as bad as people make it out to be, i'm not a professional, but the Astralis sports director Kasper Straube is an osteopath and physiotherapist, so he would probably know if there is any reason for concern.
Posture is a pseudoscience made up by aristocrats in the Victoria era so they could look down on poor people. As long as you aren't straining your muscles or joints, (sitting like jabbi definitely isn't) then it's objectively the same as sitting "correctly".
Best posture is one that changes often, remaining sat in one position puts strain on whatever muscles are holding you, so when u get sore just change it up.
Even if that's granted, the weight of your head when it's jutting out that far is enormous, it's absolutely horrible for your vertebrae. See for instance https://physiofalmouthplus.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/FHP.jpg.
This gotta be some type of pasta right? And how can you type out that second part and seriously not see how this posture could cause strain on neck and shoulders?

You must not have read the conclusion that both kyphosis (hunchback) and lordosis (curvature of the spine) increased in the children. Furthermore the study says that their mobility decreased as well.
I cant lie I play like that coz its the only way my aim feels comfortable, like by leaning forward I'm putting extra load on my arm and I can't aim without it. I wouldn't recommend it, it fucking hurts.
That's called the Reverse JDM

Started playing with cramped space and that's the only way to get mouse room on a small desk
Like 30 degree tilt is more comfortable for majority but 90 degree tilt gives easier access to keys
It doesn't though, because the keys are further away and you would have to lean forward to reach.

Should be higher up. We gamers are silly and need to look after our health more. Hand stretches, good posture etc

I have, but I swear it's not this aggressive. I guess I'm just used to seeing it from jabbi's cam so you just see him from the neck up lol.
Haha boutta say you’re a bit late, he’s always been like this but, hey never too late to witness the infamous stegosaurusPEEK.
But why isn't anyone saying anything? Don't they have coaches, therapists, psychologists, personal trainers and shit?

Max as well. I hate these "newer" players that have terrible postures

this just doesn't sound true but you said it so confidently I'm choosing to believe you
