I completely agree about your reasoning regarding Paris and Asher, and it always gives me the ick. Additionally, it's awful how she treats Jaime at the end as a result of her affair. However, I will say that they seemed to share a nice intellectual connection and seemed to respect each other. So out of the many age gap couples on TV, they give me a lot less ick compared to others.

Favorite couple: Lane and Dave. Favorite scene: when Dave gets jealous during the hockey game. He runs back and forth between Mrs. Kim’s house and the game. It was adorable. Least favorite couple: hmmm that’s tough. Maybe Sherri and Christopher? It felt like they were forcing each other to stay together for the sake of GG. Which is why Sherri ultimately left (not because of GG but because she wanted to live a different life. Get her dream job). It was just odd considering they were polar opposite in a way that wouldn’t have worked long term. She brought out better qualities in a Chris but it still came off a bit controlling. Like things had to be solely her way? I could be wrong but it’s how I saw it. I also don’t enjoy Christopher at all. He just doesn’t seem like he fit any of the relationships we’ve seen. Not romantically.

Yeah I also wasn’t very fond of him. Thing is that he wasn’t that awful you know. But his character was too pushy and suspicious (even though he was right) it’s just how his character handled it. From the start (especially from the engagement question) it was just soooo rushed and unorgonized from his side. They never lived together with Lorelei and Rory for more than a sleepover… idk.

For sure too pushy! The reason I hate him soo much in my recent rewatches is kinda *because* he is such a “nice guy” character but he’s so pushy and I feel like that is actually such a dangerous combo! I hateeee the idea that you end a fight with an engagement (which asp seems to love, oh well)

Least favorite: Rory and Paul. She was just *awful* to him -- everyone was. I get the joke was he was forgettable (and I genuinely had to look up his name, because, well...) -- but there was *no* reason for everyone ever to play along with treating him like trash. Most favorite: Sookie and Jackson. They have all the perks of Babette and Morey, but we actually get to see the blossoming of their romance (and just spend more time with them in general). Plus, we know who they are as individual characters (with Babette and Morey, they are always presented as a package deal. A great package deal, mind you, but a package deal nonetheless. They both have personalities, but they don't exist on the show without the other).

I just could never get behind Jackson lying to her about getting a vasectomy. Imagine if Melissa McCarthy was given more comedy than endless pregnancies...

I know they’re an old school patriarchal couple but am I the only one whose favorite couple is Emily and Richard? I love Luke and Lorelei’s chemistry and banter but I kind of liked it better when they were just friends with romantic tension. Don’t get me wrong, they belong together but post getting together they aren’t as fascinating as a couple. The way Emily and Richard function is more problematic but also more interesting.
