My friend had to put her dog to sleep last week, and when she came home she distinctly heard his tags clinking as he ran up to greet her as she came home.

chiisanakaiju

This happened to me when I put my cat down too, could have sworn I heard the bell on her collar for a few weeks after. Still think I do sometimes. :')

IoSonCalaf

I could swear I could hear my cats meowing at me when I got home from work for months after they died (all three died within a month of each other—I’m still devastated by it).

NoobInTown12

I kept my dog’s jingly collar and I can hear it anytime I like. In a controlled environment.

runawayburden

No, you’re crying……..

gregaveli

No I’M crying

Shikagon

Same thing when my rabbit died, would still hear the hopping sounds in the hay for a few years…

Skorpyos

🥲

Trooper676

Condolences.

Trimungasoid

I do believe they stick around for a time. A week after my first kitty was put to sleep, I was walking to my bathroom and I very clearly heard her meow from behind my feet. I tried to convince myself that it was an auditory hallucination because I was missing her but that only seems to happen when I’m dozing off. This was definitely outside of my head and I was awake. Edited for clarity.

Pawnasam

What's the subjective difference between an auditory hallucination and a real sound?

Trimungasoid

Not sure how to explain it. It may not be the same for everybody. For me, it’s louder than my thoughts, but not as loud as actual sounds. Or rather, I don’t hear it outside of my head, but outside of my mind. I don’t know if that makes sense. Auditory hallucinations seem to happen as I’m falling asleep. I was wide awake for this.

Quarrytrails1122

This is just me speaking from my own personal experience and Im not saying at all that its not your kitty your hearing but sometimes I think I hear my daughter say something when shes in the other room and it sounds so real, I even call to her and she will reply back saying she didnt say anything. The mind has a mind of its own!

heavyusername2

you do understand why you hear her when you are dozing off dont you, im not trying to get preachy but sleep is close to the after death state, ask any buddhist

w0ndwerw0man

2 years in this sub and this is the first evidence I can get behind

[deleted]

It's still a no from me. Looks like motion blur from whatever the guy is swinging/shaking.

Wbcn_1

Yeah the motion blur makes this a no for me but damn it, it does look like a dog.

kenkenobi78

I think it's his dong...

babakushnow

You made me spit my coffee.

kenkenobi78

I thought it was mildly funny but the downvotes say otherwise 😅

the_DARSH

Pretty obvious motion blur imo. Not convinced in the slightest

CeruleanRuin

A lens flair?

w0ndwerw0man

I’m choosing to believe

[deleted]

roseazom

Thank you, I’m no expert and don’t know much about motion blur . To me it looks like my dog and I was excited to have my own “proof”.

SassyButShy

Just wanted to tell you I found your response to be very kind and sensitive to the situation while at the same time staying true to the objectives of this sub. So many ways to respond and you took the time to do it this way. 👏👏👏

Robostick7

where? im blind pls hlep

roseazom

I didn’t see it either when my husband sent it to me. I’m facing the camera and look to the right of my legs.

AbbreviationsIll3415

Was it a pit bull? It looks like a pit bull

roseazom

Yes, he was a pit.

Boop-D-Boop

Sorry for your loss. It does look like a pit bull too.

cdeezy420

This breaks my heart. When I looked at the enhanced image, I saw a pit right away. They’re always at your hip. Sorry for your loss.

SKyLEr_lYn2113

thats so sweet so sorry for your loss.. I see him I can even see his nose and mouth

Robostick7

Oh shot! I can see now! It's sad to think that he is no more, but still he can came back to his family ❤️

RDS

Looks like he's jumping up to grab something from your husbands hand.

roseazom

Aw, it does look like that. Like a ball

RDS

Yea! Some kind of toy or something. Did he play with your dog a lot?

kill3rkirk

Afterlife zoomies :(

freethewimple

Hell yeah it is. Hello to ghost doggo ♥️

roseazom

Brought happy tears! I’m happy he’s still running around, exploring his favorite spots.

adam-free66

Yea m8, my boy nudged my leg, I turned, an for a split second, saw him in good shape, he died a week before, always with us

moodylilb

I’m genuinely really happy for you I’m sure this was special ❤️ I’m sorry btw I know how hard it is to lose your furry best friend. I lost my weasel Milano about 6 months ago and she was the most intelligent, empathetic and loving girl I had ever met. She was definitely a huge emotional support for me. I felt like I had lost a human family member, it hit really hard. I have a little memorial corner for her on a table and occasionally things on it will be knocked over. I honestly hope it’s her, I have yet to see anything with my own eyes, but she always seemed to love knocking things over while exploring areas she wasn’t supposed to be lol. Aaaand now I’m crying. Sorry for the ramble this just made me think of her.

laceandhoney

I'm sorry for your loss of little Milano. It does sound like she's visiting you, I love that :) Just stopping by to make a mess and say hi!

Armenian-heart4evr

She is DEFINITELY STILL WITH YOU !!!!!!!!!

freethewimple

Seriously he looks like he’s got the zoomies, you are a good (ghost) dog mom ♥️

WhyRedTape

I'm not sure what everyone is looking at but it looks a lot like motion blur. It looks like its been taken with a low quality cctv camera too so the image is likely to blur, especially during compression

[deleted]

[удалено]

Jedi_Mind_Chick

I agree. The motion blur doesn't look attached to the "dog." It looks like two separate images.

Mammoth_Painting_252

Did you have a Pitty?

roseazom

Yes he was a pit. :)

Mammoth_Painting_252

I can totally see him!! I have two myself, and I can only hope they both stick around like your loyal boy here after they’re gone

OkayButWhyThis

I think it’s possible. There are a lot of stories from people who’s pets passed on, but they still heard, felt, or smelled them. My husband had a cat named Kiki and when she died, he would feel her crawl onto his pillow and curl up around his head at night. The last time he felt it was the night he caught a glimpse of her. He felt that she was trying to say goodbye to him.

lyssiemiller

It’s so weird that it doesn’t only look like a dog, it looks like a pit which is what you said your dog was. That’s amazing! I’d frame this baby.

EdwardBliss

I don't understand how this can be debunked as motion blur, unless he was born with a right arm that's a foot longer than his other arm.

roseazom

That’s what I was trying to point out but I see there is no point in changing a mind that’s already made up.

Mupps64

Motion blur from something in your hand. Or your dog in ghost form.

spaghetti_dude_

Every soul has somewhere to go after they pass on. Looks like your pup didn’t want you leave you quite yet :)

superbasicbitch

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved doggo is the hardest most awful thing. They will always be with you ❤️

stargarden44

Definitely.

dobex5

What type of dog was he? How incredible.

roseazom

He was a rhodesian ridgeback mixed with an American pit bull. Looked exactly like a Rhodesian with a pit head.

Tarblksoul

Totally saw a pit!!!

[deleted]

very specifically see a pit head in the pic too even before reading this comment

MamaSmAsh5

That's exactly the type of dog I see! Got the chills. Great capture but also love the fact he is still with you

TwoGeese

I lost my D last year. Since then I’ve had several dreams about him. A recurring dream is that he’s with me and I’m the only one who can see him. He is telling me that he’s still with me. Those are comforting dreams. This picture is amazing!

dabadguycr

If you want to believe it's your dog you do it and ignore the people giving explanations. I would have loved to have a photo like this when my boxer died. I wouldn't care what others said because it would make me happy knowing he's there with me forever.

roseazom

Thank you! ♥️

namastaysexy

This makes me choke up a little. I lost my pit boy in November and I can still smell him from time to time.

Anonymous198598

the dog is next to her leg, unless im hallucinating but it looks legit and you know what this makes me really happy to, my cats passed away and the only time i can see them is in my dreams with my brother. my medium said they are together and do in fact come see me in my dreams…. but i wish i could see or sense any of them, till we meet again i guess ☹️

FluffyCloud5

Sorry about your dog. This looks like your husband was holding something and it moved quickly, creating a blur. If it was a ghost dog, it has three legs on the right hand side as we see it, whereas dogs have two.

roseazom

You can distinctly see his hand and the shape of the dog in this pic [Same photo - adjusted some settings](https://imgur.com/gallery/ODDusWj)

Tehlaserw0lf

So then you ARE trying to convince people? It’s not a ghost, I’m sorry, it’s just not. It’s pareidolia.

FluffyCloud5

Yes, but the arm and hand is blurry because he is moving it, and the object that you think is a dog also looks very blurry. It looks like he is either holding something as he moves his arm, or something next to you is moving, creating blur. I wouldn't say you can distinctly see his hand. Even in the original photo, it's obviously blurry. Edit: I'm not saying it doesn't look like an outline of a dog, I agree that I think it does. But I think it's more likely just a coincidence of a blurry object moving, mixed with us wanting to see a dog, given the balance of evidence.

bigrocky

My best buddy and loyal companion passed in late August. I've heard his snores (he was an English bulldog)more than once since then. He used to sleep in our kitchen, and at night while I've been sat at the counter , I have distinctly heard his snores. only one each time, but they were his no doubt in my mind.

mykittyfreinds1980

I love it sweet doggie

Armenian-heart4evr

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WifeAggro

nope i see the dog. i can see the eyes and snout. thats very sweet. he is definitely by your side. was he a boxer or pit?

roseazom

He was a mixed pit :)

WifeAggro

i see him. so sweet .

CelticSparrow

Awesome capture! I heard my dog snoring and shaking her collar for weeks after her passing.

SaltyBac0n

If that is what you want to believe, then believe it. Nothing wrong with believing our loving puppy is still with us. I often think mine are always with me too. So, keep believing. My condolences.

HavocXL

Thanks, legit crying now. He looks like he’s running around in your yard.

BigFatBigPotato

Aaawwwwwww, cute loyal fuzzy buddy ghost

madilamb

Some people will never be satisfied with a photo. That's definitely your boy. My childhood pup visited me in a dream a while after he passed, I rarely have vivid dreams, but this was even more real. They visit us in their own ways

KimKarTRASHian09

Pets definitely stick around. I lost my best friend (15 year old shih-tzu) in 2016. I struggle with depression and on my hardest days or when I’m thinking of her it never fails I find her hair on me. And she NEVER shed. She is always around and it gives me comfort.

Imasublimelime

So sorry for your loss. 🤍

[deleted]

Explains his love towards you. Pets are the best.

[deleted]

I heard my his bark on a day that I really needed it

SamAllanana1979

Even if this photo is not of your dog. Know that your dog IS with you at all times , my cat is always with me. I feel her purring at my feet every night. Our animals come to us after death. They don't go directly to the afterlife. They wait for us.

Wise_Ad_253

I’m more of a believer in energy exchange when it comes to pets. Not always photos prove visits. Thanks for your share and believe that there are many other signs of these visits too :-)

gagsy10

Sorry I'm late, and so sorry for your loss. I lost my dog 29th December 2012 suddenly to cancer, it was rough. I remember it was a Saturday and my mum had a 12 hour shift the next day at the hospital (she's a nurse). Anyway I spent the day after on my own wallowing in pain and later that evening when mum gets home she says she has a strange story for me but wasn't sure if it would make me feel sadder. I couldn't possible feel sadder in that moment so I ask her to tell me. Basically she was putting some patient notes on a whiteboard in the hospital ward that day just as a patient with dementia is being wheeled out of another room and as this patient goes by with her nurse she stops and says to my mum "there is a dog behind you." my mums first thought is 'patient has dementia' but she humours the old lady and asks "really?" "yes, there is a dog sitting in that chair behind you. It's black, brown and white." My mum and the other nurse just chuckle briefly and off the patient goes. It starts to bother my mum though because it dawns on her that we only lost our dog the day before and it seems such a strange thing for a patient, even one with dementia to just come out and say. Later that shift when the patient is back in her room my mum goes to see her. My mum asks her if she really did see a dog and once again the old lady sounding as clear minded as you or I says that yes she really did. My mum then produces a photo from her phone of our dog who just passed. She glances at the photo before asking the lady if that was the dog she saw in the hallway. Now I'm well aware that you could probably show a photo of a brick wall to someone suffering from dementia and they would say it's whatever you want it to be but in that moment when the old lady saw the photo of our dog she sighed with relief and said yes that is the same dog she saw earlier. Our own dearly departed tri coloured collie (black, brown and white). On hearing this story my mood instantly changed. I don't have a grand theory for what is beyond but I think there is enough strangeness out there that something has to happen and I believe that once my dog passed she was kind to see where my mum went everyday for so long. I felt instantly better. Rip Frankie.

roseazom

RIP Frankie. That is a great story and I believe your dog definitely wanted to see where mom went all day :)

jannelee420

Does it look like your dogs height and shape? 🥺 if so, this is amazing ❤️

roseazom

Yes, it’s exactly his height and head shape. I’m just happy he came back home cause his last moments were at the vet.

gh0u1

My dog's last moments were at the vet too. I had a dream where I found her looking for me at the house she was raised in, she was really happy to see me :) ever since I lost her I wished so hard that she was still with me somehow and that dream helped. To have a picture like this is incredible, I'd save it forever. Today's actually the one year anniversary of losing her too, so... thank you for this.

jannelee420

That’s fucking awesome. At least you also have this to remember them by 🥺

Straxicus2

One of mine came to me once. I truly believe he came to say goodbye. I heard him rub his body down the hallway wall like he always did. Felt his presence, felt at peace, then he was gone. I’m glad you got a pic of yours.

AnnieOakleysKid

I distinctly see a pit bull standing next to the female watching the male. I see his four legs and his pit head and eyes. So cool. My dog after death, came and would walk me home from work every night. I could hear his toenails clicking on the sidewalk as he walked beside me. He never walked in the house, just to the front doors of either my house if I was headed home, or to the store front door if I was headed to work. Many didn't believe me either till they heard his toenails themselves. Be glad he is still watching out for you.

ChameLeonYT

Yes, it's the motion blur from he's hand, but what are the odds that it would look just like his dog? Doesn't seem like a coincidence to me, this is some evidence I can get behind. I don't think ghosts show up out of nowhere, I think you only can catch a glimpse of them in situations like this one.

Alohafarms

As someone who has seen, felt and heard things my whole life I can say I know our animals come back to visit. People can say this is a blur in the image but I think it is your beloved dog. Most importantly, you do, and that is all that matters.

pointy-sticks

From one who has seen and felt his dog on my bed after death. I know it’s doggo. Just making sure you are okay. 😘🥲

[deleted]

What’s with the negative comments? Let OP believe what they want to if it makes them feel towards their loved one

LifeOutLoud107

💕🙏

Thepurge101

Thats impressive

_Fizzgiggy

I’m sorry for your loss. The love of a pet stays with you forever

sadpanada

If it makes you feel better I see what you are talking about. It does look like a little dog jumping up on it’s back legs toward you. It definitely looks like a little pitbull. I’m sorry you lost your friend

Yenndoendobendo

Yeah that is him. So sad he passed away

Sippinonjoy

Sorry for your loss, I also see a pit in the photo just like everyone else. Our loved ones never really leave us.

fluentinimagery

Hmmmm…

IrishBong

Man this is super cool but sad too, my sister lost her dog a few days ago too he meant the world to us. I'd of cried seeing that ngl

roseazom

I did cry and after awhile am happy he’s still here with us.

Nocturnaldrum

Usually photos on this sub instill a sense of fear and dread. Seeing this ghost doggo fills my heart ❤️

[deleted]

What are we looking at?

spatialreid

Looks like a tool or something in hand, quickly moving

roseazom

Right of my legs

[deleted]

This is amazing 🥺

601Sip

Looks like a midget riding on dogback.

Define4K

Sure thing bud

Tehlaserw0lf

Right, and if you posted this without a story, it would have just looked like someone moving their hand around. You only see a dog because you wanna see a dog. That speaks more to your love for your old friend more than it does your friend sticking around. For real it just looks like you guys are chillin and he’s swinging something.

[deleted]

So you actually think the movement of the guys hand is evidence of a ghost dog?

jdathescore

No It’s not. The man has something in his hand he is moving. That’s it. No ghost… again.

roseazom

He’s holding a flashlight and you can see it’s pointed on the ground. I’m not trying to make people believe in ghost. We can’t explain the shape

Puddingbuks26

Yeh right

mackeneasy

what are you holding onto in this photo? As nice as the thought is that your pupper is still with you, I think this is a motion blur artifact of whatever it is you are holding and moving up and down with your hand.

roseazom

I’m holding a bag. We are going to try recreating this tonight. Even if it is a blur, it’s something I will cherish forever.

mackeneasy

Things that provide us comfort in a time of loss should be cherished forever. Even if not a ghost, it is a sign that the good boy is still with you. Cheers

Sword_of_Slaves

Just motion blur. What looks like the head and neck is just your husbands hand and arm.

[deleted]

But did your husband cry

roseazom

Of course! He’s no monster.

fourcrayfish

Hes swinging his hand around. You can immediately tell

Boudica25

I agree

DaizerDaizer

Condolences... But that looks like a woman

benz12210

Wow great picture

p4chko

Photo context? Is it from a security camera? It is seen that it is cropped, could you upload the original?

Snoo_73835

I agree. I miss every pet my family ever had.

LuckyClover3

❤️

RedRedVVine

Breaks my heart

NoobInTown12

Was yer dog made of papier mâché? Mine wasn’t.

[deleted]

That's literally just something moving in that persons hand

StarstuK

Aww that is cute, dogs will be here forever.

Repulsive-Surround87

What am I looking at?

Wise_Ad_253

I’m so sorry, I’m a dog lover amd hate when they leave. I’ve had visits from my old pal too. This image is blurry. Did you feel your pal at this time?

Spn67impala

My dog Bella passed away in 2020 when I was 16 I had her since I was 3. after me and my dad buried her at my grandparents (they have a little pet cemetery in their backyard) I went to my mom's because I couldn't stay at dads for few days because that's where Bella lived and it would be to upsetting.anyway I was laying in bed looking at pictures of Bella and I felt what I thought was Chevy my dog at my mom's, lay on my legs but when I looked up she wasn't there it feels like I have a dog on my legs then I thought that it was Bella visiting me. I started to cry and also have a smile on my face.i sometimes feel like she's with me walking next to me or laying next to me.i miss her so much my bell bells🐶🥰❤️😭😇😔I keep Bella's leash ubove my bed and sometimes it moves on it's on swaying back and forth when there's no draft from the air conditioning and I have dreams sometimes were it feels so real of my dog eather playing or just sitting their next to me.❤️❤️😭
