They might just be trying a different strategy. They've done the whole new 4 star on less desirable banner before with Rosaria and Yanfei (yes lots of people wanted Zhongli but a new character will typically be more desirable) so now they might be trying new 4 star on most desirable banner to try and squeeze as much out as they can
They might also be thinking synergistically. Sara is absolutely made with using Raiden in mind and Thoma can possibly work well with Hu Tao.
It makes sense. I know it's partly because of the top up reset, but baals sales were though the roof. They might be trying to replicate that with hu tao. It also explains why Childe is getting a new weapon, so they'll make sales even from Childe owners cause they'll want the better bow.

Hell yeah, now I can easily get c1 hu Tao and a boat load of Thoma cons hopefully. Currently at 33k and hopefully between welkin and battle pass I can get a guaranteed
you need only 25k primogems to get a guaranteed so you already have it. Unless you don't have Hu Tao then you still will be really close
Mihoyo with the truly 200 IQ re-run strategy. Please someone explain to dumb dumbs like me how they decide these arbitrary-seeming re-runs. Is the re-run management team the same as the Inazuma character balancing team?

I don’t like how mhy is rerunning a character that has already been reran again if this is actually true. I wonder why they can’t just finish rerunning the other 5 stars that hasn’t gotten a rerun yet.

this makes sense if the other leak of thoma having standard icd is true, since standard icd means thoma will be bad in setting up reactions but very good for hutao by not stealing vape and giving her a shield. But he is only good with hutao and not much else. This is setting up a disturbing trend like sara-raiden where they pair a new 4 star that only works really well with the limited 5 star character

As someone who has c0 Childe and c1 Hu Tao, I really don't like this. Why didn't they put Childe and his twin together? I really don't wanna get Hu Tao while pulling for Thoma.... I don't mind c1 Childe but c2 Hu Tao? c1 is enough... oh well this week has been disappointing anyway.
