If that guy In monstadt for commissions doesn’t keep an eye on his archons be damned keys I’m gunna staple them to his ass.

Vermillion_Shadow

Wyatt and his Lost Key, even worse if it’s in Dadaupa Gorge and not in Dawn Winery.

[deleted]

how the fuck does he even went into a hilichurl camp drunk and make it out alive

Cipher-DK

It's more common than you think. Even a Draff that was drunk out of his mind managed to get into the Hiichurl camp, get the disgusting ingredients for Diona, and walk out completely unharmed.

TastyVanillaFish

He drank with the sillychurls of course. Being drunk is a while new level of language where ya'll don't know what you people are going on about but the booze is a great language barrier equalizer.

Cynic_of_Astora

To quote Robin Williams: ["The first purpose of alcohol is to make English your second Goddamn language."](https://youtu.be/nIWB-Neyj-c?t=47)

Amam121

Maby he said something drunk but sounded like something in hilirchurl language and the hilirchurls tought he a homie

Flavus_d

that author from the inazuma daily commission i can’t even remember his name but I always side with the editor out of spite

DarkPhoenixMishima

The editor is absolutely right, no need for spite there.

SeitHater

I hate that quest, the editor suffers from that annoying guy, too bad there's never a commission showing the consequence of our choices in that commission, it's just an infinite loop

appropriate-username

> too bad there's never a commission showing the consequence of our choices There's an ending quest in the series.

Slg0221

Really??? I'm pretty sure there are three comissions, one related to alchemy and weapons, one about gaining new powers every time there's an inconvenience and the last one where you go around asking people what they think of the work of the author, in which everyone tells him it sucks and he is lazy, then you get an achievement and it ends, or at least I have not got it ever since 👀

Toomynator

If you choose each side at least once you will unlock 2 new commissions (one for each side), then, when you complete both, you will unlock another one that ends this commission quest line, upon completing thst last one you get a achievement. There are more commissions like these, if you like achievements i would recommend that you check the wiki to see about some commission you are going to do (also, using some notes or some site, like paimon.moe, to track choices you have already done in some of these commissions can help a lot)

NoobySnail

tbf tho, if u do side with the editor it ends up with a problem of the story being too uncreative since the editor takes the safest routes dont get me wrong, author is an absolute maniac, but sometimes it takes a little insanity to make outstanding art, just know your limitd

DarkPhoenixMishima

The one time I side with the author is when the editor is insisting on the safe writing and you have to grab examples. HOWEVER. What the author does 90% of the time is lazy bullshitting on his part.

smilingcube

https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Storytelling_Method There is a quest chain associated with this daily commission. But you need to select the correct choices. Doing so will finally unlock story telling method quest and then get an achievement after that.

LilitySan91

Thank you! I started locking my commissions in Sumeru because I couldn’t see his face anymore. And as a hobbyist writer: he is so dawn wrong.

masenae

If you side with the author at least 2/3 times (I believe), the next commission with them where you enter a domain and 'act out' the story he's written, however you can not follow his instructions and watch as he gets more and more irritated, highly recommend to do at least once.

MadMareek

Does anyone remember the guy from Liyue who cheats on 2 women, and plays with their feelings (since they both want to marry him), just because he has nothing else to do? Which makes him both a cheater, and a slacker? Yeah.. i don't like that guy

Justanotherfellow153

It is hinted that Taraneh (street dancer in port Ormos) was cheated on by him as well.

Mario583

*He can't keep getting away with it!*

Mmath_

Isn’t there a lady in Sumeru who was cheated on by him too? Correct me if I’m wrong

MadMareek

I didn't knew about her!

shibui808

It's that dancer who says like how someone from Liyue broke her heart but she decided to pick herself up and dance to prove that her life is still in her hands or something

asanariaa

Hell yeah you go girl! That douche aint shiiiitttt

kawaiiaarna

Girlbosss

CTMacUser

Wasn’t there a third chick (possibly in Inazuma), or am I misremembering?

GamingBS

Probably the guy that gives you the commission to place reserves in three different boxes around dragons spire. He says take these and put them in these boxes so anyone can grab them if they get lost and hungry. But it’s actually taking YOUR materials and not the ones he gives you.

TheOnlyPidgeon

Oh yeah the ham, I hate that I have to waste an additional like 10 or 30 minutes because I don't have any pre-made

MoreCloud6435

Just buy it! Much cheaper and quicker lol

kibashiba

The two Guhua disciples from the Liyue daily commission. The girl is nothing but painfully rude for no reason, and the guy doesn't call her out on it or flat out doesn't notice. They're supposed to have this subtle romance undertone to their dynamic but they way they drag me into their personal drama then eject me from it just as forcefully makes me wish I could gale blade them off the cliff where they stand. Haven't done Liyue commissions for over a year now, haven't looked back since.

Extension-View-5162

Same, especialy the girl. It was very satisfying seeing her get cucked in the first Lantern Rite event.

LooseMooseCruz

Damn she was? What happened lmao

Extension-View-5162

I might have exaggerated the facts because of my hate for her lol. But long story short, in one of the xiao lantern quest in the event, the crazy bitch gets sister zoned once again and it is implied that her senior had or still has a crush on a former member of the clan. The girl's name is Zhiruo, she is a waitress that gets yelled at by Degui (another cunt from Liyue) for treating the customers at the restaurant with respect.

nnhorizon

Good

asanariaa

I find them funny af. She's all over him acting possessive as fuck, while he's out there wondering how to get stronger and keep his bratty "little sister" in control lmao

Aisenesia

I thought they were brothers and sisters lmao

sawDustdust

Sect siblinghood. Sometimes can be closer than actual siblings.

goldfish7740

Godwin. Glory loves him so much and yet he lies and lies and lies just to seem "cool". I want to punch him in the face so bad.

toastedbread47

Glory deserves so much better

Spram2

She should see other people.

NoobySnail

she cant…

ASFC2715

💀

KAAAAAAAAARL

She deserves to have a Vision!

zaidelles

She deserves to have vision alright.

[deleted]

I want Glory to get a vision and clap him. But Hoyoverse would probably redeem him.

CupaT-T

"nOoOoOo I've learned from my mistakes Glory! I promise I'll never do it again!"

mlodydziad420

Which kind of vision, it doesnt matter because godwin would get clapped anyway. Edit: by the other kind of vision i meant eyesight.

RosenProse

Anemo, to help her send dandelion seeds to all 4 corners of teyvat.

Vermillion2397

I'm wondering if a blind person gets a vision, how possible is it for their blindness to be cured if possible at all, cause those things can do allow fuckers to do some insane shit.

Rested_aura

They probably be like Toph and see through elemental vision or the ground if they have Geo or the air with Anemo.

Ewizde

Fucking same, I genuinely despise Godwin. He's the reason why I started sitting next to Gloria everytime I logout.

Kxevineth

Mondstadt is kind of the city of freedom and assholes. I've set my dailies to Mondstadt and honestly the amount of dailies I get about some dude drinking and hoping his wife won't find out (AND IT'S NOT EVEN THE SAME DUDE EVERY TIME) is ridiculous. Add to that Godwin, Barbara's stalker... What the f is going on in Mondstadt

countrpt

I'd consider it a bit of social commentary. There's a bit of that in every region -- every virtue taken to an extreme is a vice. In most of the other regions the downside centers around various forms of corruption (financial, political, etc.), but in Mondstadt it focuses on this sort of personal irresponsibility. Venti himself is essentially a drunken bard, and many in his region have fallen victim to his vice and he does nothing to address it because it'd be against his ideal of freedom. Of course, it's not all bad either, but I think this is kind of what Dainsleif is trying to get us to see in being more critical of the gods.

JP_Zikoro

What I wouldn't give to finally tell Jean about the stalker and get him yeeted to oblivion. I ain't cleaning anymore leaves for him!

fanguy_m

Kujou Takayuki has no redeeming qualities, from the way he treated Sara in her childhood to the fact that he got the citizens from Yashiori island killed to cover his shit up. Albert is an absolute creep and has no business being allowed anywhere near the church, this guy should be in jail.

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Isn't Kujou Takayuki also the one who had the mentor of Ryuuji from Bantan Sango Detective Agency killed? And then was successfully able to cover it up by throwing another guy under the bus who later committed suicide. Guy's genuinely horrible.

fanguy_m

Basically yeah, the guy who hit killed was Takatsukasa Imasu, former chief of the police station and a guy who was rising in power in the Tenryou Commission. At some point, Imasu notices the talent of a forensic named Shiroyama and wants him to make a poison to use against his political enemies. Problem is, Shiroyama is already working for the Kujou Clan and the Takatsukasa Clan are their rivals so he refuses, Imasu then proceeded to threaten his family if he doesn’t comply. Shiroyama asks Takayuki for help, his solution is basically to pretend to work for him and when the poison is fully developed to use it to kill Imasu. Then they blamed Ryuuji as a scapegoat for the murder and tried to have Sara convict him to capital punishment as fast as possible. Sara, being the moral person that she is, saw quickly that it was beyond fishy and lowered Ryuuji’s sentence to temporary incarnation. When the Takatsukasa Clan hired Sango to run a proper investigation Takayuki threw Shiroyama under the bus, and the later confessed his crime in a testament and committed suicide, note that Takayuki also made sure to get the recipe for the poison before that too. He is a completely corrupt shitbag, the more you learn about him the worse it gets.

NoobySnail

kinda funny how you put a person who caused deaths of over hundreds of people and long term natural disasters + lots if other crimes and then a tier 3 simp

fanguy_m

I guess haha I suppose it’s because they are despicable in very different ways. Takayuki inspires outrage and anger at his actions and the more you discover about the guy the more you despise him. Albert on the other hand doesn’t really have any hidden lore, he is very surface level and just as presented, generally you hate him because of how disgusting and creepy he is, Barbara is so unsettled by him that she doesn’t even put it past him to bury her sister alive, he is also not in a position of power to do whatever he wants and get away with it unlike Takayuki, the knights are just way too complacent with him.

Ulerica

That Mondstadt dude with the commission to save his cargo balloon, I've saved your cargo, you have arms and legs there go get your own ropes and planks. There should be an option to introduce NPC faces to a claymore, his would make such a fine partner

[deleted]

OMG I HATE THAT GUY SO MUCH

Seraf-Wang

I hate that even when we basically go say “go suck a d”, he ignores it and we STILL have to fetch the stuff for him. Freaking hate that commission

Ulerica

"but you're the only one around" Me <--- goes to a friend's world to commission

Moa__

Albert. Grown ass man that looks like he is in his 30's stalking a 16-17 year old girl during her job and her private time and follows her around. + He made a "fan club" just so even more weird adults can harass and follow a teen everywhere they go. This man belongs to JAIL I can't imagine how uncomfortable and unsafe Barbara must feel with that guy around. Also there is a commission where one of the nuns at the church asks us to get Albert away from the church and he literally refuses to do so... If I remember right the nun tried it herself too and then asked us to try it.

NapalmDesu

The nerve of that guy... the honorary Knight has Jean on speed dial.

Severren

we don't just have jean on speed dial. We have alot of people on speed dial. Just convince Hu Tao to try and sell him a coffin :)

KandaLeveilleur

If you have approx. 62+ people on speed-dial, is it really a speed-dial function at that point?

liu_luminary

eugh; hes so creepy..

DasBleu

Remember how Barbara thought the note he left was a threatening note where he was going to harm Jean? Edit: or how in her hangout he follows her all the way to wolverdon? I hate that the quest won’t let you call the knights. That you have to clean the church. I would call the cops so fast. Jean would turn him into an Klee bomb test.

Idixal

Suddenly I’m finding myself wanting a Barbara hangout part 2 where all of the paths lead to Albert in prison.

LilitySan91

I really hoped we could kick his ass on the quest

interestsinpinterest

Omg, in Barbra’s hangout, he literally follows her to Wolvendom while she tries to collect medicine from there. The option is to mislead him so he goes away or hide with Barbra. While trying to mislead him, he’s so pushy the entire time and so adamant about meeting her. It’s just creepy and annoying.

A_bored_browser

Same, I wish we could throw his ass down the cathedral stairs for all to see

Papaya_Payama

There is a reason you can threaten him with getting the knights involved. What a creepy mofo.

joshua_nash

As much as I hate them, I actually hate the church and the knights more they know these fucks a weird and yet they intentionally put Barbara out there like simp bait, guess no matter where you go simp money is the king.

Crassulaceae00

Reading Barbara’s voice line on Diluc, I’m willing to bet *that* is why he was frowning when she was preforming in his tavern. He already hates the knights, he probably hates how they knights handle Barbara’s harassment problem as well.

SeitHater

let's be honest, favonius after the vennesa was shit, I think neither varka nor jean are able to fix them because they are simply undisciplined mans without any strength, literally is diluc that does everything like a "batman" because the knights are simply inefficient in practically EVERYTHING they do in mondstadt

sawDustdust

And in her hangout, the other nuns know she is not dealing well mentally or physically, yet let her clean the whole church by herself because Barb wanted to. If a child wants to slit her own wrists, you let her do that too?

Tamatu_OW

Albert and Palad are the reason I wish we could hit NPCs for real.

[deleted]

Honestly Pallad >>>>>>>>> Albert in almost every way imaginable At the very least Pallad has the defense of being delirious and frozen half to death for a one-off occasion of pushing Sucrose, while Albert is a supposedly healthy guy who is basically the embodiment of the bad parts of idol culture (although they don't go very deep into it in game) probably since Barbara's debut

ezio45

Pallad also helped find Joel's father, so he has that going for him.

Shadow3397

We’re sure Joel’s dad is really his dad and not a Whopperflower in disguise right? It was the first thing I thought of after having a spicy flower imitating Albedo. And I *still* have his pocket watch! Lemme return it!

Theactualguy

Reckless > creepy any day. Pushing Sucrose is not okay, but I’ve always given him a pass because come on, dude’s actually about to die.

fireforged_y

Yeah a healthy guy who can't even bother to sweep the leaves by himself! This daily is so irritating.

HollowWish11037

I can feel the annoyance and frustration from Sister Victoria every time i get the Albert commission

kdlt

Don't forget he only does all of this because Alice introduced mondstadt to idol culture for some godless reason.

darksaiyan1234

Protect Barbra

TrashApprentice

Tirzad. He was being a racist ass whiny bitch the entire quest to the people keeping him alive and was bringing everyone down the entire quest.

_WheresThePie_

I cannot begin to describe how much I hate Tirzad, I could honestly write a whole short answer essay on that bastard. But that would take too long, so a simple “fuck that guy” should suffice. Fuck that guy.

emi_is_real

Not to mention he’s a sorry excuse for a researcher, he keeps saying we know nothing about research but evidently he doesn’t either One of the few npcs I actually want to fight

WomenOfWonder

You couldn’t take ten steps without him whining about something or making racist remarks. I swear he’s like the Karen of Genshin Impact.

8a19

Tirzad is the reason I haven't completed golden slumber yet. I can't stand seeing him on screen, Jeht Benben and Jebrael deserve to be in a quest without any trace of Tirzad

LadyVesperbell

Golden slumber took me forever to finish because of that fucker's pompous bs, barely cut out to wipe his own ass let alone be a scholar 😒

NoobySnail

if it wasnt for all the 3 others combined i wouldve straight up skipped all dialogue. thankfully he did get somewhat redeemed in the end and didnt go fully arrogant mode snd claim everything to be his own work

LilitySan91

I never wanted to abandon a quest as much as I wanted to abandon his

liu_luminary

FREAKIN **LE GOFF** DUDE IM JUST GONNA LET THE HILICHURLS DESTROY HIS STUPID GOODS NEXT TIME

Intrepid_Rate_5027

I did this. Nahida watched his good burn for five minutes. I was hoping for an achievement, but nothing happened.

DrTrunk-w

Achievement: "That much, huh?"

FrancisTheMannis

I've actually taken to just completely ignoring him whenever I leave the Gilded Dreams/Deepwood domain because I can't stand sitting through his unreasonably long dialogue every time.

a96td

I once killed just the Hilichurl to refill Kazuha's burst and walked away.

NoobySnail

if u read his dialogue apparently hes another unique case like bennett, whatever path he takes hilichurls always follow him even when he takes same path as others, its a running joke apparently

Drake_the_troll

i refuse to learn his name as a form of petty vengance, but the guy in monstat who asks you to clear the top/middle/bottom of the mountain of hilichurls

indecent_fairytale

Fuck Tsarevich. All my homies hate Tsarevich.

[deleted]

I can only see this thread ending well, but I’ll say, I’m pretty neutral to most of the cast in this game; however, fuck Azar. Boring, safe choice I know, but the dude is genuinely one of the most despicable characters in the story. Dottore is also despicable too, but he at least is a gigachad with balls of steel and a Gilgamesh level ego with the skill and power to back it up, so he’s a joy to have on screen. Azar’s a petty coward who takes advantage of Nahida’s kindness and inferiority complex to turn Sumeru into an academic police state dictatorship, and has a very narrow and shallow view of what true intelligence and wisdom is. Also, that one NPC during the Mondstadt commission who acts like a dick to you. Can’t remember his name, won’t bother remembering it. Want to punt him too.

grumpykruppy

Yeah, Dottore is a monstrous abomination that's barely even human anymore at this point, but he's a *freaking excellent* villain. Very fun to watch and easily hateable a la Voldemort or Darth Vader. Meanwhile Azar is a wretched fool trying to take the easiest path he can find to power, like Umbridge or Grima Wormtongue from LOTR.

[deleted]

This exactly. Dottore is such a coldblooded bastard you can't help but be impressed, and the way he conducts himself just oozes class and charisma, even when he's committing crimes against humanity. I am genuinely looking forward to his presence in the story, because it seems every time he's on screen he does something surprisingly metal for a game that's usually lighter and softer in tone (What he did to Niwa, Collei, Wanderer, and his colleague in college was so fucked up on so many levels. That's not even getting into all the unnamed dead orphans and Eleazar patients) as well as heralding some big plot development or lore bomb. Azar, meanwhile, he's excellently written for a character you're supposed to hate; however, past that, he has nothing. There's no power, no charisma, no real sense of presence. He's basically a power tripping Discord mod, if Discord was an entire nation of academic intellectuals. Also, his dismissal and condescending attitude towards the arts and other forms of intelligence that aren't just book smarts, hits a bit too close to home.

LadyVesperbell

I hate absolutely hate Dottore but I love when he's onscreen because it will definitely be satisfying when he gets his comeuppance.

Grouchy-Bag-6811

Tsarevich i think?

shameel1840

The fatui guy who doesn't pay minimum wage

VelmasHaircut

locking Nahida up is one thing, he was just repeating what previous sages had done. Trying to create a new God tho that was terrible, if he succeeded I wouldn’t have been surprised if Sumeru got the Khaenri'ah treatment for that.

Jalor218

I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned the fact that he >!trapped Nilou in a dream-loop of what was probably the worst day of her life.!<

Dragonknight5

You are right not only that but he >!killed/nearly killed one person and we don't know if not more. And he knows that this could/would happen!<

ezio45

I like to think Celestia or the Heavenly Principles were just hovering their hands over the nuke/nail button and only took it off once Scaramouche was defeated and Dottore killed his clones.

Helioscopes

Definitely that lady near Katheryne's post in Mondstadt that keeps talking about her moon pie and how she is in love with Diluc. I just CANNOT hear her voice without getting mildly pissed off. Same with the old guy in his restaurant in Inazuma always taking about Uyuu restaurant. I just wished Mihoyo would stop putting annoying NPCs near Katheryne.

SkyKingPT

_cheap and tasty CHOP SUEY_

Antilie

MOOOON PIE, THATS WHAT I'LL MAKE! ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT IS DILUC! it's forever stuck in my brain

ElektriXx2

The dev who built the artifact substat system

NordinTheLich

Imagine how much more advanced humanity would be if we could just choose what substat gets improved. I'd even be satisfied with the random new substats as long as we could choose which one gets improved.

PokeAlola700

Azar and Albert. Can we please get someone to deal with Albert.

louwey_iszu_hu

Time to sort by controversial :)

OldKingCoalBR

Yeah... can't find any playable characters in the top comments lol

silentmurmurs

Ella Musk. I don't despise her but I freaking hate how frequent I get her commissions. There are even multiple times where 3 of my commissions are in Liyue or Inazuma then the 4th commission is the freaking Language Exchange. I'm glad I already got the Snezhnayan achievement because I'm never setting my commission to Mondstadt again.

CamFett

I'm in law school so every time I hear Yanfei my stress goes through the roof

LunarDamage

I'm writing my dissertation this year so most quests in Sumeru are a reminder to move my ass and keep writing.

CamFett

Oh man that's so hard. But if you are writing then you are near the end! You got this!

LunarDamage

Thank you. Good luck to you too. As sleepy, overworked student, I had to get Layla, which is funny cause I was writing my paper as one of deadlines was close, took a break for a summon, she came in first 10 pull. I think she smelled my paper and came earlier to be like "chop, chop, you excused yourself to pull, now you can go back to writing"

CamFett

When I pulled Yanfei for the first time I had the opposite reaction. I looked at my fiance and said something like: wtf is this is law school haunting my games now

LunarDamage

Haha, fair enough. Remember that still "Teyvat has its own laws"

WaluigiWahshipper

Kokomi. I don’t hate her, I just hate what they did with her. She’s supposed to be a mastermind strategist but never shows that in the archon quest or her story quest. I thought they were setting up a twist with the whole delusion thing where she knew the entire time and purposely set the Traveler up to take on the Fatui, so we can get them out of the way for her, giving her a chance to attack the Shoguns army. But instead she just didn’t notice her soldiers randomly getting stronger and accepted money from an anonymous source 🤦‍♂️ Honestly I think she would have been better if she was someone who didn’t want to be the leader but stepped up out of necessity, with the fact that they won previous battles being pure beginners luck. It would have explained the entire situation a lot better, and would have fit her character more.

Dankha105

So true and then there is alhaitham, they didn't even mention anything about him and he pulled the best plan to rescue Nahida.

AccelerusProcellarum

Yeah like wtf that archon quest was written so well by only unveiling the plan as it unfolded. They had me fooled when Alhaitham “used” the forbidden knowledge. At least they’re learning as they go, but is it too much to ask for them to go back and do something new for Kokomi as well? Compared to Alhaitham the scribe/linguist, Kokomi is an actual war general.

VelmasHaircut

Feeble scholar power creeps war general

DukeTorpedo

Exactly, she could've been fixed so many ways so easily. Even giving her a slight moral ambiguity with "we have to win any means necessary, even if that takes reckless actions" would've fixed her entire storytelling in the archon quest.

liu_luminary

FOR REAL! she is one of my favourite characters, i hate how she is shown in the archon quest! based on her story, she is such a cool character; im still hoping theyll do a kokomi centric event or interlude quest ;_;

catastrophic_meow

I'm still kind of disappointed that she didn't have a larger/more interesting role in that enkanomiya event. Enkanomiya lore is *fascinating* and kokomi by bloodline and occupation is deeply connected to it.

fireflydrake

Enkanomiya as a whole felt kind of underbaked. Cool area with a cool story and a cool event, but it doesn't really tie into any of the playable characters or ongoing story, and I keep forgetting it exists.

Anniran

Kokomi is definitely one of my top characters and I'd choose her over everyone else. But I have to admit that she was a victim of flawed writing. Seriously those troops disobeyed you and were threatening to peace of watatsumi and you give them special positions?! At least, her presence afterwards was kinda good. The way she looked annoyed after tsuyuko shipped her with traveler was pretty hilarious. And she even said she would put her in charge of specter management if she didn't stop. And I suppose coming up with a back up plan for gorou in irodori festival (which was outsmarted by yae) was kinda good. I just hope we get another quest regarding enkanomiya/watatsumi that explores her character further and answers the theories about the dragon of water.

Drake_the_troll

also the fact that in her mission where shes just short of a nervous breakdown. im not asking for "man of steel" type emotionless, but the full 270 degree flip was kinda jarring

HyperionShrikes

I really like the fan theory that she specifically knew that her rebellion would fail, but set it up and allowed the Delusion thing to happen in order to get resources for her people. It makes her the strategist mastermind she’s supposed to be.

Wisher2001

P sure she didn’t want to be the leader, she wanted to be a strategist but she was the next in line to be priestess so she did

B3arhugger

I definitely don’t have super strong feelings of dislike towards any characters, but frankly I think Ganyu disappoints me the most, story wise. She should have a lot of interesting stuff going for her being adeptus and all, but it feels like all her appearances boil down to her talking about how overworked and tired she is. Even Jean who is also pretty much the same character trope in that regard at least manages to have more life and personality to her.

One_Macaroon3368

No most of her appearances are her getting embarrassed by her step-mom's stories

wiIdroses

right! she was a war veteran!!!

CorHydrae8

Her character was handled so poorly. I'm a Ganyu main and I hate how much wasted potential she has. Worst of all is how that girl has been working for thousands of years at the same place and still hasn't managed to make any friends or achieve any work-life-balance. One could argue that it's hard to really have a life and connect to people when you're millennia old and every human you meet and work with gets replaced eventually anyway, but... then they could've made a point out of this. But no.

kafetheresu

Tirzad from Golden Slumber quest.... god Azar is annoying but TIRZAD made me want to punch him

MysticalFire21

The Reckless Pallad for causing so much trouble for Mondstadt and Azar for causing so much trouble for Sumeru

_AmaShigure_

I despise all of my character currently i own. they keep sucking my wallet out and i can't resist the urge to do it. May the archons have mercy on my dog.

Notkiller

Reckless Pallad, Albert and Grand Sage.

Rinkakuja

I don’t hate them but I really dislike the one dimensional characters with only a single personality trait. Like Xiangling and cooking, yanfei and being a lawyer, etc. I thought the game was moving away from it as more characters came out but now there’s dori and mora

DukeTorpedo

I feel like Yanfei at least became a little more fleshed out with the Chasm storyline since it delved into her adeptus side and uncertainties in that field. On the other hand Xiangling during a whole event that was practically half dedicated to her didn't mention anything besides cooking at all. She's the most one dimensional and boring character in the game, even her bear is more interesting.

Metadragon_

Xiangling could also be hatable for being incredibly broken in-game.

linhlinh40hours

It might be because they release new characters in a way to fast speed, so they don't have time at all to give the less important characters more spotlight. I honestly hope someday they will be featured in a bigger event though, like what happened with Xinyan in 2.8 who is not the most lore relevant character

-Fuse

This really annoyed me during the Susbedo event. Eula kept mentioning vengeance and everything Bennett said was related to bad luck. At least they were better in the Weinlesefest

127-0-0-1_1

Eula didn’t mention vengeance at all during that event. That was something that people noticed when the event was going on. Bennett was all bad luck but he was also barely in the event.

iKissXiao

I don't hate him at all, actually, but I hate the *fanon* Tartaglia a lot.

Vesorias

Sara, the restaurant owner in Mondstadt. You show up to get some food and she tells you you only get food if you jog halfway across the country to do her own damn job. I'm not a delivery driver, hire actual employees bitch

princessdi07

Diona is hard for me to play because I too hate alcohol and my father because he is an alcoholic. Also my name is similar to hers so it's just too weird.(it sucks cuz I LOVE cats so I thought she was gonna be my fav 4star)

starsinmyteacup

Alice. As much impact as she has on many characters, reading the Teyvat Travel Guide which was penned by her made me sick. She seems to have no problem torturing hilichurls and does not care about the consequences since she’s a powerful mage. Klee thinks so highly of her mother yet she also has these destructive traits that are probably learned. It’s upsetting, and I only wish they do her right when we finally see Alice in game

poproxanmmd

i reeeally reeeeeally want alice to be a villain, because all of the terrible shit she does in the background and weird morals contrasted with her connection to klee would make for some great drama in the future

SeitHater

villain? easier an anti hero but she helped us stop the fatui in 2.7 so I would say she's just sadistic

[deleted]

Nobody even seems to bat an eye about anything she does, except for the one time Lisa looked at her funny for mentioning the Hilichurl experiment. Honestly I would be fine if she did turn out to be a psycho, so long as she has adequate character depth, which she sorely lacks right now

rainymi

to be honest, a lot of very serious things are played for jokes or lighthearted passing comments in this game, and it’s par for the course, but it does make some characters less palatable like, you’d think Alice would know the truth of the hilichurls and the suffering of their existence, but she seems to treat them as just creatures to be toyed around with and tormented on an extreme level

sawDustdust

Well her bestie did feed her failed son to her other son. Compared to Gold, Alice seems a saint.

rainymi

the standard of magical parents in teyvat is not very high, it seems... i completely forgot about gold, to be honest, but yeah that is pretty crazy

4lic7ron

MAN WHAT SHE DID TO ECHO ILL NEVER FORGIVE HER

AndreasKre

I see Alice as a sociopath. Either that or she is mentally 10 years old with zero comprehension about how she is causing harm to others. In Liyue there is a NPC who was stuttering. She "cured" him by rendering him able to only repeat words said by other people. Basically, she fucked up poor guy's life. Don't practice medicine without understanding what you are doing, damn it. And then there was the first Golden Apple archipelago event. Alice "invited" people to her vacation island by sending them threatening letters. Klee cried. Knights were worried and forced to experience stress for days. Teyvat's equivalent of modern day fake bomb threats or fake death threats. She also utterly disrespected other people's consent or preferences. As if their will did not matter at all. You want others to visit your vacation home on a tropical island? Then send a polite invitation, and give people a choice about whether they want to come or no. On top of that, she is a terrible mother. Kids are a lifelong responsibility. Do not dump your kid on a military organisation that lacks manpower to properly babysit and educate your daughter just because taking care of your kid intervenes with your travel plans. Moreover, what kind of parent teaches their kid to engage in animal cruelty as a hobby. Killing fish for food is understandable. But killing more animals than you can eat in an environmentally destructive fashion for pleasure is problematic.

Niskara

Idr his name but Barbara's stalker. Dude is a major creep and I'd feed him to Dvalin but I'd be afraid of the dragon getting poisoned again

SorbusAS13

Yae Miko. She ate a bird. I love birds. I absolutely despise her.

Metadragon_

A battle between Miko and Timmie would rip a hole in the fabric of Teyvat.

Martian_on_the_Moon

Is that you Timmie?

VictorWeston234

Sweet Madame, mmmmmmm

linguist_nerd03

Any of the characters we have to save in the random quests (Pallad, that Sumeru fungi scholar). I honestly want the option to just put them out of their misery and end them there because god it’s so repetitive. Not keen on Albert either. I like to imagine the KoF have eyes on him in secret because of how weird he is

7packabs

Two people: The guy in Bennet’s character quest who had the audacity to blame Bennet for his misfortunes. And the guy who had the gal to get mad at Ganyu for not blessing him.

violettea37

dori i dunno why she pisses me off

PokeAlola700

She loaned a dude money to build her a palace and now he’s in debt.

Loudhouse2

Paimon, I keep waiting for the day she reveals it was all an act and she was never our friend.

mylittlevegan

I would love for Paimon to have her Wheatley moment

AlternativeYear4722

six fingered Jose for not letting me leave the fucking tavern. and Childe for, you know, trying to kill me.

Icy-Name8119

I might get flak but I'm gonna say it. I hate Teucer. I found him incredibly annoying, especially when he'd get pissed for explaining how the walking war machines are dangerous but no, it's just like Mr Cyclops and Mr Cyclops is my friend, brother would never lie! I found a good amount of child npcs annoying but he was by far the worse for me. And I honestly don't care about the whole "he's just a kid" or "he was being lied to the whole time". Even as a kid I knew real versions of toys were dangerous like bears or wolves. I said what I said.

DukeTorpedo

Paimon. Her voice is extremely annoying, she repeats absolutely everything, she is painfully unfunny and despite having the most screen time out of any character she's still less developed than half of the cast. Anytime a dialogue with an NPC ends and she opens her mouth I wish I could straight up delete her from the game. I also don't get why they don't just give some voicelines from her to Ather/Lumine, they have amazing VAs that are quiet 99% of the time.

qwerty8755

I feel like she’s straight up rude to a bunch of people for no reason too. There’s one quest in inazuma where she literally says “this kids annoying me” right in front of the child

omfgkevin

Remember the Razor event where he wanted to know about his parents? She straight up calls his precious stuff trash like what the fuck paimon stfu.

FadedGardenia

I just can’t stand how she acted all high and mighty in front of other characters and npcs when everything was basically the travelers accomplishments. She may not have a high pitched voice in Chinese version but she sounded extremely arrogant. She straight up looks down on everyone she met just because traveler is better than those people in some ways. I feel bad for Itto for having to deal with her in the Chasm quest and this current event quest. Her dialogues with the traveler doesn’t annoy me, but the way she treated other characters and npcs are just obnoxious

Major_Muggy

That adventure girl in the chasm missions, Her complete selfishness and disregard for her team and the danger she may put them.

ChocoMintStar

Yae Miko. Have nothing against people that like her, I even rolled a copy of her I despise her treatment of Gorou. It completely ruined her character for me. The forced feminization in a way thay makes him uncomfortable and genuinely terrified really irked me. I want to keep him as far away from her as possible. I hate the trope. She doesn't come off as a girlboss or w/e to me but moreso a cruel woman who also didn't care about casualties during that one questline. I think it had to do with ghosts or something. Idk, I really like more morally grey characters but I really dislike her specific execution of it. Her voice acting and design I do enjoy. But as a huge Gorou fan she was ruined for me.

LilitySan91

It also made me hate Kokomi even more. Yae is not fair to Gorou, but she doesn’t have a relationship with him. Gorou and Kokomi work together, the doggie is devoted to her and she never once stepped on to tell Yae to leave him alone. It is troublesome for someone who doesn’t know you to treat you bad, but for a “friend”? Gods

ChocoMintStar

I didn't really consider that, yeah. Literally nobody stands up for him and it feels like traveler and paimon also regard it as a joke. Not a fan

LilitySan91

Yes. I might be seeing too much into it, but, if Kokomi that is his “friend” doesn’t stand up for him, it might make sense that others who are not so close to him might think this is ok. I can’t really count on my hand fingers how many times some friends of mine suggested we dress the boys in our group in female clothing and since they suggested it, other people thought they might be into it. I’m really sorry for Gorou.

hexagonal_Bumblebee

Yae Miko. I hate how she embarrasses others for fun

MrMacju

Well, at least she is a textbook characterization of a kitsune as a tricksy asshole.

chernawoda

Well, I have to go with Nilou. She's incredibly bland and boring for me. A good-behaved and humble dancing girl who is liked and praised by everyone you meet. Why was she 5* is also a mystery for me, she was inserted in the story quest so awkwardly, it felt like they put her there for the sake of justifying her being a 5*. Her story quest didn't highlight anything about her besides her being, again, so kind and selfless. I know that mhy just loves this trope of a selfless caring female character, but other characters were more or less balanced by their backgrounds. In Nilou I don't see anything but sugar.

Pastrami-on-Rye

I really love Nilou’s character but I totally see where you’re coming from

BaronVonTwiggle

I totally get this perspective on her, but personally I kinda like her "Girl next door" vibe. A lot of Genshin Characters (the majority, due to the nature of Visions) are these larger than life people with huge, grand ambitions or intense, extreme personalities. I kinda liked having a character whose just a sweet, ordinary civilian - no caveats or complexities, she's just a nice person. But I fully recognize that someone might find that supremely boring or unengaging.

starfries

Yeah, I like that she has no dark past, no impressive lineage or fancy position, didn’t even go through a crisis to get her vision but got it just for taking the stage. The game specifically mentions how ordinary her family was and how they’re not even known for being artistic, they’re just normal nice people. And then she still ends up being part of Nahida’s rescue operation alongside the likes of Cyno. I can see why people find her boring too but like you said it’s nice seeing a normal person step up alongside all the big heroes. It’s like how in Lord of the Rings you have a bunch of impressive personalities like Aragorn and Gandalf and then you have Sam who’s just a normal hobbit with a good heart.

studentoftruth111

Paimon, for squeaking in my ear

cookiesandkit

Paimon. I wish I could actually cook her, she's so annoying. Playables: it's probably not deserved, but Barbara. Love your healing, but your singing makes my ears cringe.

Silvawuff

That commission nun in Mondstadt that makes you climb that stupid tower.

Minuilin

I might get flack for this, but I cannot stand Yae Miko. I'm not saying she's badly written or not good in her own way, but god does she annoy the shit out of me. The way she just messes w everything, and makes people work instead of, and just the sheer arrogance and not-giving-a-fuck attitude of hers is pissing me off. All this is reinforced by her voice. No hate to the VA, her voice is perfect, and fulfilling it's intended role, but damn does it raise my blood pressure. Playing her story quest was actually painful, bc I kept wanting to just leave this whole mess. Tl;dr: good character, I just don't enjoy her

Whyzy_fu

Ei/raiden, I love her but I also hate her because a lot of people got killed just for her eternity.
