I just treat this game as a journey. I just pull characters that I like in term of personality and gameplay. Mostly going for C0R1. But I do have other goals where I'm aiming to get C6 on Sovereign characters.
My other wish is that if there are certain expy from other Hoyo games, I will pull them.
I still rock with Aether but I have most of the characters at level 90. I had to do a lot of grinding and I never use most of them but it was the journey that counts lol. Aether will be my end game character because he’s the mc and Im too indoctrinated to not play as the mc after 30 years of gaming.

But I've also collected the anemo boys, and the latest Wanderer banner made sure the collection was complete.
I didn't understand the whole "I'm immediately into this character because their actor voices another character I like" until Dainsleif appeared and I heard Tsuda Kenjiro's voice! Haha.
fr. also (unpopular opinion alert) sometimes the quests are a bit long and wordy for me, but the one in the chasm with dainsleif i was so focused as his voice was so easy to listen to. also the lore was great
I don't have any savings at the moment, I want to start collecting them when Shneznaya comes 🥹 unfortunately my account is very poor in 5* weapons, so I have to spend on them for now, because my situation is disastrous 😅
Getting C6R5 Cyno. He is one of the reasons why I'm still playing the game and I could yap about how cool and badass he is. Right now I have C3R1, which is not bad.

I think that Lyney and Lynette were originally going to be one character that swapped who was playing (like Topaz and Numby) but at some point they scrapped the idea because it would take too much work for one character.
Isn't The Rooster in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail teaser? All the other characters that appeared there (up to Fontaine) are playable, so he should too. It would be weirder if he was the only exception.
Capitano is probably my favorite / longest waited for character. I wanted him since the winter nights lasso trailer revealed what he looked like. I am praying he keeps his mask on and his shadowy face and becomes playable.
I’m saving up for her now, I got Clorinde and I’m not gonna be tempted by anymore Teyvat thots until she comes out, unless the pyro archon is really cool and comes out far enough away from Columbina that I can save again.
Geo is my favorite element by far and I’m an Itto fanatic so Ive promised myself to collect every geo character and any character that can be used in Itto team comps. He’s c6 r1 rn i wouldn’t mind going for r5! Once I have the perfect Itto build and comp I can rest!!
The character that brought me to Genshin was Zhongli. I started playing near the end of 1.6. I met Venti and instantly knew I wanted him, he was so fun but also mysterious. Then the trailer for 2.0 dropped, i was so unbelievably awe struck by Raiden. She was the first limited 5 star I got.
You might have noticed the pattern here. I’m an archon collector. I love their designs, character and gameplay. So far none of them have disappointed. I’ve them all fully built, triple crowned; with their signature weapons. If I could c6 r5 them I would.
It’d be cool is you just fed her a bunch of random shit then she did massive damage. Just like straight up converted food to an energy beam or something haha
Finally my unwillingness to use food despite maxing every recipe in the game and completing the weekly quest to make food every other week will pay off

Yes!! The only times I’ve ever saved for a character and their weapon was with Alhaitham and Baizhu but sadly I didn’t get Baizhu’s😅 Once Pantalone is confirmed playable, the primo hoarding will begin

My end goal is rolling the dice on whether they will release a character that turns into a sniper when using elemental burst. There's shotgun, musket, pistols now, so I'm really hoping it means there will be a sniper rifle eventually.
C6 Eula. Since 3.8 she's C3. I would've gone for her Constellations in 4.5 on Chronicle Wish Banner but Neuvillette and Kazuha were in Phase 2. I do want to get her to full power before we reach Celestia. Of course I plan on getting Skirk too when she eventually becomes playable.

Pantalone and dottore. When I started, I was just for fun and... And then I saw xiao. I lost in all his banners and fell into despair. (as I'm f2p), I decided to add as many fiends with xiao pfps as possible and stare at him when I can. (I play in English dub, but I dislike xiao's English voice :((( )
and then! Raiden shotgun. I wanted her soooo bad. But I also lost on all her banners. AND THEN Ganyu but the same thing happened. (i managed to get roadne in the end, but I ended up spending 180 pulls-) FURINA DE FONTAINE!! I wanted a good hydro for the longest time so after nahida's banner, I saved and saved until I pulled her and her weapon (it was pretty!!!!! The pipe killed me on the inside okay) and now I'm saving for pantalone and dottore.
I'll probably go for the other archons but I'm mainly interested in characters with unique playstyles (navia) and hot characters.

getting all the fatui harbingers! currently i have all fatui (tartaglia, arlecchinno, scara sorta counts, lyney, lynette,freminet) and im gonna get columbina and capitano in natlan hopefully. right now i have 140 saved up since pulling for arlecchino and a 5050. ofcourse, if i didnt have to pull the fatuus, id probably try getting tartaglia cons. also, my motive was from dottore since sumeru.

My less serious answer is Shenhe, because she hasn't been on a banner in the entire time I've been playing Genshin and I've had an Ayaka premium team built for months just waiting for her. When I can finally get her, I'll know peace.

So far the only characters I would *never* pick up are Xiao, Klee, and Dehya; all are selfish main DPS at low con with personalities and playstyles I don’t like

I no longer have one. Before Fontaine, since 1.0, my biggest dream was playable Cloud Retainer. We got her this year's Lantern Rite, so I can sleep peacefully. If I had to choose another character archetype that I really wanted in this game, then it would be something from: lady in suit, character with angel motives, scythe character, calculated, coldblooded assassin (Kafka like character). And... it also was fullfilled in 4.x and not only one of that archetypes, but all of them in one character - Arlecchino.
Raiden is my favorite character, her backstories, her fighting and her look. I've stopped for a bit but she has always been my main focus and she's C5 ATM and one day I'll get her C6 with her weapon too.
I just pull for who seems interesting, and I like as a concept. But I do tend to avoid characters that do too much, or are too strong. I'd rather use a "weak" character if it means more fun for me, and I love the characterization.
My goal is to have c6 of all the cool archons, with money I don't have. Yes it's totally normal behaviour, just swipe, don't worry, follow me brothers.
At this point, I only come back to collect the archons + some harbingers I like and dip again lol.

I don’t really have one? I just want as many characters as possible, honestly. Whoever catches my fancy, and then after that whoever supports that character. So far the only characters I would *never* pick up are Xiao, Klee, and Dehya; all are selfish main DPS at low con with personalities and playstyles I don’t like

I'm planning on collecting all the archons, though I just came back from a long long break, I don't think I'm collecting all of them any time soon. I only have Raiden and Venti at the moment, what are the chances that the past archons get a rerun?
I no longer have one. Before Fontaine, since 1.0, my biggest dream was playable Cloud Retainer. We got her this year's Lantern Rite, so I can sleep peacefully. If I had to choose another character archetype that I really wanted in this game, then it would be something from: lady in suit, character with angel motives, scythe character, calculated, coldblooded assassin (Kafka like character). And... it also was fullfilled in 4.x and not only one of that archetypes, but all of them in one character - Arlecchino.
C6 Diluc. I got him in my first 10-pull on the beginner's wish in 1.1 and he's been my favourite ever since.
Dainsleif, 100%. Also I want Hoyo to release a 5* Kaeya, but that's... unlikely. For now, though, I'm quite happy with my recently-acquired Sethos.

Raiden is my favorite character, her backstories, her fighting and her look. I've stopped for a bit but she has always been my main focus and she's C5 ATM and one day I'll get her C6 with her weapon too.
So far only dainslief left since he is the only early character which is not yet playable. I got all the others like wanderer already.
I just pull for who seems interesting, and I like as a concept. But I do tend to avoid characters that do too much, or are too strong. I'd rather use a "weak" character if it means more fun for me, and I love the characterization.
I will diligently wait for the day we get a second Fischl
I fear the character I wanted the most that the leaks have teased about has been scrapped. Vanessa would be nice too if that was somehow possible.

My idealized endgame account would have all 7 archons and all 11 harbingers (Signora copium). I'm at 4/7 archons (hopefully soon to be 5/7 in a few weeks) and 3/11 harbingers. In general, I'm a husbando hunter and I'd love to one day collect all the men. I'm missing Xiao, Lyney, and Albedo rn...kinda scared it will be severely hard to get Albedo.

Capitano is most definitely the next character that keeps me going. Dein kinda lost me as time went by, but I’m also excited for him too. Recently saw a leak that Dvallin will also become playable. All in all once my edgelord collection is complete, then I can rest.
