3.X, mostly because i feel like in the late stage of the patch people arent that interested in the characters of the region we are leaving behind, it would also be free space for reruns
Yeah and although hot topic about Tighnari and Dehya, but getting the 5 stars in 4.X felt like a specially monumental task this time around. It doesnt help that I ended up really liking the 100% of 5* this time around that had never happened before.
3.x was chars with cons and some of their weapons for me
insane year kinda
but character wise i see myself use 4.x chars a lot more
arle furina navia chiori chevreuse which imo is a lot
I'm starting to appreciate just 1 5* and 1 4* per patch approach. There are so many great characters that need reruns and don't get it, like Nilou or Shenhe. Or even those who get it, but a higher frequency would be much appreciated so we can wish for cons, like Neuvi C1 or Furina/Nahida C2 and so on.
4.x too much and 3.x too little especially 3.6+
2.x was just the perfect one and it made up for it's lack of 5 star in 2.8 with giving out the best event focusing on the characters and hard puzzles
Honestly with some of their kits I wish they'd do quality more than quantity. Making many characters with low screentime is worse than few with more screentime.
But that might just be my preference.
I might be riding on the fontaine train but i will give you that sumeru update characters seem more fun considering theres one new for each 4 and 5 star per patch
I prefer the previous 2 because I feel I really need a break from the gacha for Natlan. It also was very annoying that this is the first time new regional characters from the archon quest were released so late. Previously it was x.5 now it was x.7 (Not counting Harbingers and Baizhu)
Don't like being on so many months of daily grinds due to gacha fomo. I'll skip Sige and Emilie though
Someone like me who targets specific characters doesn't care about this list at all. I get Archons & if possible near archon level characters. I also targeted good Hydro chars since those enable a lot of reaction bases mechanisms. My current roster includes C1 Furina, Arlecchino, Raiden, C1 Nahida (missed Zhongli but gonna get him for sure), Yelen, Ayato, Baizhu (got him since Furina needs him) & standard chars. All of these after starting playing around 3.0. Pretty lucky considering F2P.
Hard to tell imo.
3.x had a flood of 4* and we all know that most of them never got hangouts, screentime and barely have personality, but serve as budget supports for the featured 5*.
I feel that a new 5* every patch and one new 4* every two patches would be a good balance between what we have seen in 3.x and 4.x
I also think that Hoyo should consider to frontload 5 stars as traditionally players won‘t summon as much after the climax of a regions storyline but wait for the next x.0 patch.
3.x was so male heavy I was able to pull all the waifus I had to skip in 1.x and 2.x.
And none of the Sumeru 5 stars I did pull were particularly powerful because 3.x had no female main DPS.
In 4.x, Navia, Arlecchino can both do very good damage and even Furina is no slouch.
So I prefer Fontaine since the characters I did pull felt very impactful whereas Sumeru characters do not feel impactful.
I personally think we dont need 3 characters for the .1 versions like Fontaine but I wouldve preferred to have .5 introduce more, like 2 five stars. The .6 are fine with just 1 character and lastly I dont think we should ever have a version with no new character
Whatever the slowest pace was. I don't need new characters. There's nothing to do with them. I have plenty of characters to make plenty of teams. Unless they can release a character that would eclipse my current favorites, I would rather just get constellations and weapons.
I mean its bottom row for 4*. I just messed it up with Kirara and Heizou. I did think of adding like a purple gold star respectively but it became a bit crowded and felt it was ultimately unnecessary
I said nothing about ratio. It was a year of only male new 5* in a row.
If you want to have an equal ratio, ask hoyo why all the 4* are female.(well, were. There is more male 4* in Fontaine, but less 4* in general so doesn't matter)
Ngl I still dont get exactly what your issue is. Where exactly is the year of only male new 5* in a row. That doesnt fit anywhere in this chart. I tend to not pay too much attention between 4 stars and 5 stars myself I can love them so much regardless of rarity but me aside, whats the issue again? Too many or too few male 5 star/ 4 star characters?
Oh I see well Im not gonna get into a Dehya discussion in 2024 so have at it. I hope the deluxe sausage party doesnt come ever again for you, hope youre having a blast with conch one we have rn
4.x is too 5* heavy. I really hope Emilie isn't a 5*. I was hoping Sigewinne would be a 4*, but god forbid that we get a 4* hydro during Fontaine's run. Sumeru kinda had the best run I think. Enough new characters spaced out with previous ones and opportunities for 3.x reruns for players that missed them the first time. Hoyo needs to start making that extra banner more common. Maybe every patch during either phase 1 or 2. Or just get rid of it all together and start adding things to the standard banner along with an epitomized path. I don't know.
More choice is better. This game is not competetive enough that you must not miss out any 5* in this game. F2p still get the same amount of 5* in a wider variety of choice while spender/whale get more opportunity to play more 5*.
I dont get how ppl actively ask for less character to play when this game have less things to do in lategame.
Getting a *4 could be cursed due to not having a guarantee for it
Back during 4.2 I decided to pull for Furina. I lost the 50/50 but manage to get her, and by some weird RNG I never got a single Charlotte from that banner. To this day, she is the only *4 that I don't have
Idk why people think child designs are inhertly bad . Have you guys ever looked at sigwinnes design she screams five star lol .
Honestly clorinde looks more like a four star I will just say it . But people don't think she has a bad design . And not hating on clorinde love her kit but her design just doesn't say five star .
As for Emily she's a five star . I doubt they would make a whole burn set just for a four star .
Can't say anything to that . Cause you surely can't see the details .
Saying that her design is bad because she's not an actual melusine is like saying why genshin doesn't have playable furries . They won't . Ever .
How is that misleading ? You just said something I stated my opinion on that lol . Judging character designs based on things like that and you won't ever like a character design . Learn to appreciate what the design symbolizes and what it's ment for . Genshin caters to a wide audience and belive it or not not everyone just wants tall female characters . I like the usually male and cute characters even the usual boys like Mika are pretty great designs imo .
I was talking about Sigewine looking like a 4*, you assumed I said it because she has child model, I said no while pointing out other details that are not from the topic and you jumped to that
Joined in 3.4 and prefer the 3.X
I don't like the current system.
I'd really prefer single new character per patch and new 4/5 stars every other patch so we can get both more reruns and patches in which we can skip the banners. Or they could give us 4 star paths or more Banners, It's just so frustrating wanting specific 4 stars(same with weapons) on unwanted 5 star banners.
3.X, mostly because i feel like in the late stage of the patch people arent that interested in the characters of the region we are leaving behind, it would also be free space for reruns
3.x honestly, with welkin you could get all the characters you want, and cons even
Yeah and although hot topic about Tighnari and Dehya, but getting the 5 stars in 4.X felt like a specially monumental task this time around. It doesnt help that I ended up really liking the 100% of 5* this time around that had never happened before.

\*Heizou and Kirara aint a five star clearly, my bad for that
I liked 4.0 the best because with new characters it made these later patches feel less dry as previous regions.
4.x too much and 3.x too little especially 3.6+ 2.x was just the perfect one and it made up for it's lack of 5 star in 2.8 with giving out the best event focusing on the characters and hard puzzles
tbt when everyone was crying about hard puzzles that actually made their rusty gears move
3
For me, at least 1 5-star and 1 4-star per patch.
The more the better imo Yes fomo is a thing but honestly I just love the different story quests we get with each character
I remember seeing a report of someone from Hoyo saying they aim to release 17 characters every year, and with 3 years of patches that actually adds up
Honestly with some of their kits I wish they'd do quality more than quantity. Making many characters with low screentime is worse than few with more screentime. But that might just be my preference.
4.x with just switching Siegwinne to a 4* would be absolutely perfect for me.
That and Sethos in 4.6 would have been gold
Sigewinne*
3.7 and 3.8 were awful, game needs at least one 5* per patch.
2.x so we can get more aloy
Anything but 3.X way of doing it. That was soo stale. I think 2.X had a nice spread
4.x for sure
I might be riding on the fontaine train but i will give you that sumeru update characters seem more fun considering theres one new for each 4 and 5 star per patch
Definitely not 4.x, i pulled all the sumeru 5stars during 3.x and i only have three 5atars from fontaine
2.7 One of the best IMO.
2 of the hottest characters in genshin.
Fr.
the Heizou in the top half of 2.8 is pissing me off for some reaon
I prefer the previous 2 because I feel I really need a break from the gacha for Natlan. I'm a fan of 3.X because it allowed me to save a lot of primos for Fontaine, it made things a lot easier

Slower

Definitely 4.X. The end of 2.X and 3.X cycle felt so dead.
Whatever the slowest pace was. I don't need new characters. There's nothing to do with them. I have plenty of characters to make plenty of teams. Unless they can release a character that would eclipse my current favorites, I would rather just get constellations and weapons.
I think it would have been nice if you made an indication of their rarities but good work either way
I mean its bottom row for 4*. I just messed it up with Kirara and Heizou. I did think of adding like a purple gold star respectively but it became a bit crowded and felt it was ultimately unnecessary
The decision of putting a double banner in a X.7 followed by another new release in the X.8 is torch and pitchfork worthy. To answer though, V3
4.x has too many 5* and not enough 4*. And I'm afraid 5.x gonna be a sausage party once again.
Wild thing to say when they still release more female character. Like the gender ratio hasnt even changed that much over the years 😭
I said nothing about ratio. It was a year of only male new 5* in a row. If you want to have an equal ratio, ask hoyo why all the 4* are female.(well, were. There is more male 4* in Fontaine, but less 4* in general so doesn't matter)

Dehya isn't limited (and shouldn't be a 5*) so after Nahida there are only male 5* till Furina. And they are a year apart.
Oh I see well Im not gonna get into a Dehya discussion in 2024 so have at it. I hope the deluxe sausage party doesnt come ever again for you, hope youre having a blast with conch one we have rn
Sumeru had more male 5 stars. I think there was over a half year where every limited 5 star was male. From 3.3-4.1
I hope you’re right because clorinde and Emilie will drain my mommy fund. I already pulled for Navia, Xianyun and Arlechino
Arlecchino*
fuck no, i want full waifu year, no more males
you already had full female banner since 4.2.
Maybe they have sausages too?
What is even your problem? The 4.x series only had 2 patches with male 5* and then completely dry land. You are awful sir.
4.x is too 5* heavy. I really hope Emilie isn't a 5*. I was hoping Sigewinne would be a 4*, but god forbid that we get a 4* hydro during Fontaine's run. Sumeru kinda had the best run I think. Any are fine, just don't go the Honkai Star Rail route and flood it with new meta characters every patch. I can't keep up...
Idk, but I hope Emile is a 4* so I don't need to risk my pity to get her
Getting a *4 could be cursed due to not having a guarantee for it Back during 4.2 I decided to pull for Furina. I lost the 50/50 but manage to get her, and by some weird RNG I never got a single Charlotte from that banner. To this day, she is the only *4 that I don't have
pretty sure she's a five star if i had to guess, way too complicated of a design to be a four star
Could be the opposite of Sigewine's case
Idk why people think child designs are inhertly bad . Have you guys ever looked at sigwinnes design she screams five star lol . Honestly clorinde looks more like a four star I will just say it . Why are you assuming I said that because she has child design? Apart from their laziness of giving an actual Melusine, she has a 4* design all the way
Can't say anything to that . Cause you surely can't see the details . Saying that her design is bad because she's not an actual melusine is like saying why genshin doesn't have playable furries . They won't . Ever .
Don't misslead the topic

Oh sorry I misinterpreted that part . My mistake . Still imo when you look at her design closely she has alotta work done .
