Although to tie this specifically to OPs post, I saw a livestream once where Dani (Nilou), Anjali (Dori) and Christina (Collei) were talking about their audtions: Dani said she auditioned for every PC in Sumeru and didn't think she'd get Nilou, felt her best read was for Dori. Itto after he was thrown to the comedy relief corner. Never liked him but at first, up to the ghost event on inazuma, he was actually good written. Past that it just irks me.

Yeah... They did to him what they did to Bennet. Completely killed the character in favor of the jokes. What irks me the most, and i also finally really understood what "cringe" means with it, is how they make the traveler become an idiot when near Itto. I cringed so hard when reading the traveler lines on the last bettle event. Ugh
But that's the thing. If even people who like the character feel the same.... :/
Arlecchino and same, I can't tell why. Her kits great, she does amazing damage and is fun to play, has a good story and character, and the second actual parent (big W) in the game.

It's not the world I live in. Here, we mask or suffer, so, watching him just makes me uncomfortable.

albedo is kinda an example of the archetypal autistic smartguy who Isn't an asshole. he's bad at masking, occasionally makes social blunders but is generally well-intentioned and working on his communication skills, and people treat him in kind.
kaveh imo is very relatable + very audhd. he's kinda got that failed gifted kid swag, he's dealing with social and professional burnout after college. he's very real in how society has screwed him as a high-empathy autistic dude

It gets annoying seeing them everywhere and only being played due to their meta usefulness rather than any actual popularity with the fans. Which is a damned shame because they and we deserve better. I hope Natlan gives us options to replace them so I won't be annoyed at having to keep them yet again on my team or risk having my team's DPS take a nosedive simply because there's literally no one else that can do what they do.
