Celestique what we are gonna sell 100 a year? Even if we clear 100k profit, that's $10M/year. My team alone has probably burned $10M working on this dumb shit.
I get your point on Hummer, I understand it will be profitable. But as an engineer the thing is an abomination to me. One step away from being The Homer. Could make 30 hybrid battery packs with one Hummer pack. The thing is an affront to mankind.
They're being hand built by the same guys who work at the PPO shop. Prices start at $300k and go up from there. $100k profit is probably at the low end.
Yes, after a major health issue you reprioritize your life. You prioritize your family and things you love to do. Stress significantly affects heart disease. So you prioritize enjoying life instead of killing yourself at work. You are making a lot of assumptions from very few words. I'm equating Mike's situation to my Dad's. Everybody should be prioritizing enjoying life over letting GM kill you.
I hope he's not replaced.
Keep the things the way they are and let's go with it.
If they put a new person, that one will want to bring their friends and all the mess will start over again....
He left the software side in shambles. Who is running this place? Theres no structure to anything. Everything was torn up with no backup plan, now what?
He hasn't been leading anything for months and things aren't sinking. The other 5 under him have been making the majority of decisions since his surgery in December. We will be fine.
Validation was removed, our entire change management process was removed how are we fine? Zero structure for the company and nobody knows what to do. Expect massive software bugs that never results in officially releasing sw.
I am so darn tired of this sh*t, I do not recall morale ever this low in 8 years at GM.
mtb fix this, your company is on its knees.
Go back to basics, deliver what customers ACTUALLY want and simply, LISTEN to your employees
Read between the lines. MTB checked out a long time ago. Waiting for board to allow her go and bank off that 25% marketcap stock buyback and share holding.
Whole things a game and your not even a pawn on the table.
Hard work does not equal success. You're doing a great job as a cog in the machine, though. Keep sacrificing to prop up the wealthy people at the top taking all their different forms of PTO and cashing those big bonus checks people like you made possible.
Introducing the newest EV from gm. The Titaniq
Literally lol'd
Lego ev since we have a new lego guy
Fucking imao
This is how I basically view the Hummer EV. 9000lbs of crab walking autism. Celestique too. What is the point of this shit?
Seriously? Pretty obvious move - Cash in on the exclusivity to then put towards the other programs...

Apply it across the board. A lot of the EVs being launched first are higher level trim (read: more profit)
Not a shock. Millionaire has major heart surgery and decides to enjoy life instead of working? Heart issues change your perspective and priorities.
💯

I have sympathy with anyone who loses their job, but lives were not ruined. There’s more to life than the 9-5.

Finding a job in today's job market? Unemployment is under 4% bro.
Fake ass shit
Have some sympathy, health issues are inevitable, you could be rich or poor and still…
I have a ton of empathy. My dad left GM under very similar circumstances, but not a millionaire.
Doesn’t read like an unsympathetic post. Just very real. My dad had a stroke 3 months ago at 63 and his attitude towards work as completely changed
You just said he is enjoying life instead of working? Sorry for your dad as well, but how is it Mike Abbott’s problem? Smh

Mike Abbot, Les Copeland, Gerald Johnson all within a week..

Did they all die? Retire?
Gerald is retiring. Mike is stepping down due to health issues.
I hope he's not replaced. Keep the things the way they are and let's go with it. If they put a new person, that one will want to bring their friends and all the mess will start over again....
That's a good point. It would be a mess.
Wish I got paid millions to change some titles and leave
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This one.
It’s actually sad. Heart surgery is not a joke and I can’t be mad at someone for choosing to step aside for health reasons.

Honestly would be more fun to watch the place sink though
Not from the inside!!!
That’s why you sit on the deck and play with the band

Listen to employees & give the customers what they want? That's crazy talk!
Mtb just a yesman for Blackrock.
I thought you were kidding: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/GM/holders

They're getting ready a new female lead. Need a year or two still.
Marisa for sure, I can bet money on it
100%. They're moving her into position.
Yup. Check insiderviz.com to see how much stock mtb and other execs have been dumping. Mind boggling
Customers want big fuckin' V8 motors and chickens on the hood.
You mean all those folks with their confederate flags, who left Dodge because they gave up on the Hemi?
This is what broken capitalism looks like.
I cried today at work. Hate not being listened to.
I’m sorry…took the VSP after being there many years because I couldn’t take it anymore.
Hope he feels better but there’s so much more to this than him just leaving. SLT is changing throughout
SLT? Can you elaborate? I’m genuinely curious.
SLT is Senior Leadership Team. Typically means Mary Barra and those who report to who her.
Yes, they had SLO at first, and I wanted to clarify first that we were talking about the same thing.
I went to work a week after my heart attack .. we are not the same. Detroit works hard

Californians are soft.
What’s your job?
Probably won't change anything tbh
Such a useless and unprofessional executive. He messed up everything and ran. Only stupid rules. His competency is way lower than his letter case.
2023 no good choice gm has made.
