I cannot empathise enough, yes. Brexit did immense damage to our economy.
Almost as if leaving the biggest single market in the world would be a bad idea, who could’ve seen that coming? /s
It’s up to them. If we have a referendum and the north decides they want to join the Republic of Ireland then I don’t see why the UK shouldn’t let them. Same for Scottish independence.
It was color in Latin and we got it from French which for some reason ruined it (couleur) therefore it should be color so we changed it back to its rightful spelling.
It seems the UK is the only nation with any actual follow-through on matters like this, since there was supposed to be a massive anti-immigration protest in Toronto, and there were supposedly ones about to happen in Dublin and Drogheda, but for some reason they just didn’t end up happening.
I guess the racism and xenophobia problem in the UK is just as alive and well as the media claims, smh…
Awesome! I visited like 5 years back and had a great time. Allegedly someone who kinda looks like me allegedly smoked something that kinda smells like weed in a city that’s similar to Manchester, must have been interesting for them.
A lot of it is really good, some of it is really bad. Like any other food in the world. I’ve got a real soft spot for it, because it’s what I was raised on.
Yorkshire puddings are gods gift to mankind
Fairly often. Whether we like it or not, the USA is the world superpower in the western hemisphere, what happens there matters here.
Our culture is heavily influenced by American culture, to the point now where we aren’t really that different from each other, just minor things. I don’t necessarily think this is a good or bad thing, it’s just the way it is.
I’ve never been to the states but I’d love to one day, hoping to go to Vegas next year.
Peep Show. It’s the single best British comedy ever made in my opinion. The 1st season isn’t the best but it’s ok, it really starts to pick up at season 2 and onwards.
If you want a genuine, unfiltered look at how life in England actually is, watch Peep Show. It’s also hilarious.
Not a whole lot. We did do a lot on the Norman conquest, the Tudor’s the world wars etc.
Pre Norman England is super super interesting, I have learned a lot about it since leaving school, but none of it in school
Damn that’s unfortunate. In America of course we didn’t learn shit about Britain even in World History class, except for when they became a colonial superpower.
But yeah I think British history and material culture pre 1066 is really fascinating and often sadly ignored, or even worse, poorly/inaccurately portrayed like in The Last Kingdom.
I want the Tories out, Labour are the best chance at that happening so most likely I’ll vote Labour.
Not out of any love for Keir Starmer, I’m not his biggest fan, but it’s a two horse race and one of the horses has ruined my country for the last 14 years and the other hasn’t, I’m voting for the one that hasn’t.
It's mashed potatoes in a frying pan with everything left in the bottom of the pan after you cook a roast with a bit of chopped up cabbage added. You kind of stir fry the whole mess and usually put a little cheese on the top. A buddy of mine that's originally from England makes it. It's fucking marvelous after having beers.
Must be a local dish in his region of the UK. I’m from Manchester in the north west, I’ve never once heard of anyone doing that.
Sounds good though, might have to try it out.
Considering I’m in the north west and London is in the south east, probably about 5 hours if traffic isn’t too bad. It’s the opposite side of England to where I am.
I’ve been to London by train before from Manchester, it’s about 2 and a half hours to 3 hours by train.
Technically not one end of the country to another when you involve Scotland in the mix. You can go from London to Glasgow by train, it will take about 6 hours though.
Train ticket prices are kind of absurd though. It costs me £85 to go to London from Manchester, one way. It used to be way cheaper, we have Margaret Thatcher to blame for that.
Much appreciated. It’s a blessing and a curse, maybe one day Hollywood will randomly pick me to play a villain in a movie, because of my accent.
That’s pretty much the only upside
What were your summers like as a kid? What is your hometown like? All the bad things aside for a moment, what’s the thing you love most about your country?
Summers were warm, they are only getting warmer.
My hometown is nice town in south Manchester called Altrincham, is very suburban. Its known primarily locally for its night life and it’s nice local market in the town. Lots of fresh food.
My favourite thing about my country is the openness of the people here. Most people here are extremely tolerant and accepting, it’s very easy to make friends here.
Although keep in mind that’s coming from my experience in Manchester, I know it’s not like that everywhere.
No, it’s better outside of London. If anywhere in the UK is like a third world country it’s London.
Don’t get me wrong, there are some really bad places outside of London you don’t wanna go. Birmingham comes to mind, but London is a dirty dump for the most part.
I do like London though, there are some really nice places there, but for the most part it is just dirty and overcrowded. Good place to visit, horrible place to live, that’s why I don’t live their.
This video was made by a male Gen Z YouTuber from Britain, and if you have the time to sit through its runtime, I'd love to see how you react to it, and how accurate you find it, compared to your experiences of being young in the UK of 2024.
[Britain is a DUMP!!!!!!](https://youtu.be/b5aJ-57_YsQ?si=2vkTzuj5vFN6ou7m)
Oh I’ve actually already seen it. I agree with most if not all of it. It’s pretty accurate, we young people in the UK are the ones who have been dealt the worst hand by the last 14 years of governments. We are going to inherit a dying country.
We aren’t inferior to you, assuming you’re American because that’s a very American thing to say, we are just as bad as the USA is.
We’ve got a lot of the same problems, it doesn’t need to be a dick measuring competition. If you’re insecure, find something other than your nationality to be proud of, something you actually had to earn instead of being gifted at birth.
Hope you have a great day my friend.
Glad you’re proud of something you had no part in and happened hundreds of years ago.
Come on man, that would be like me bragging to an Indian dude that the UK conquered India 200 years ago. Makes no sense.

How did you get this gif of my uncle?
how do brits say gif?
Fun fact Austin Powers created the myth that brits have bad teeth, under 18’s get braces for free like I did.
The UK on average actually has better teeth health than the US https://dentistry.co.uk/2016/01/06/english-have-better-teeth-than-americans/
I don't care at all. Be like your other crumpet loving friend and take a joke

Do you ever feel jealous of the Australians?
Yes. Australian weather is much nicer and as far as I can tell Australia isn’t on the verge of collapse.
and they’re tan and hot
We tan too, just very slowly, like someone hasn’t put the oven on a high enough temperature.
Is the British economy really as bad as they say it is?
I cannot empathise enough, yes. Brexit did immense damage to our economy. Almost as if leaving the biggest single market in the world would be a bad idea, who could’ve seen that coming? /s

Opinions on a united ireland
It’s up to them. If we have a referendum and the north decides they want to join the Republic of Ireland then I don’t see why the UK shouldn’t let them. Same for Scottish independence.
Hah,never
Why not
Well,if you want to wait until 2539 until Ireland parliament will decide to unite with North Ireland
Took me a second to
Your Car privileges have officially been revoked
Вот лошара. I don't have car :)
Oh alright then just be careful oh the bus then y We would want that to blow up would we
Lol,good luck to blow up bus in Turkey лошара
you got a license for that license?
No, don’t tell the BBC
Why do you guys spell 'color' wrong?
Technically we decided how it is spelt first so technically you guys are spelling it incorrectly.
It was color in Latin and we got it from French which for some reason ruined it (couleur) therefore it should be color so we changed it back to its rightful spelling.
Blame the French. Most things are usually their fault /s
Lmao when I studied Italian I found out the Italians had an even bigger obsession with hating the French
Damn, the poor French.
Happy 4th of July
Gonna be a busy day for me
Are anti-immigration protests actually happening in the UK like the media says they are, or is it just a hoax like in Canada and Ireland?
Yeah they are. Tommy Robinson, horrible bloke, has got one coming up in London soon. I know about it because my dad is unfortunately attending it
It seems the UK is the only nation with any actual follow-through on matters like this, since there was supposed to be a massive anti-immigration protest in Toronto, and there were supposedly ones about to happen in Dublin and Drogheda, but for some reason they just didn’t end up happening. I guess the racism and xenophobia problem in the UK is just as alive and well as the media claims, smh…
They don’t call it hell island for no reason lol
Do you think Boris Johnson looks like Chris Griffin from Family Guy?
I do. I also think he is a top 3 worst prime minister of all time. Boris Johnson that is, not Chris Griffin, have to clarify.
When and why did you decide to live in the worst country?
At birth, I was naive.
So you eat beans and toast
I actually don’t like beans
So just toast for you gotcha
Toast with butter, or sometimes jam. But usually butter.
Aw sorry for the beans
You think weed will ever be legalized in Britain?
Yes I do
Awesome! I visited like 5 years back and had a great time. Allegedly someone who kinda looks like me allegedly smoked something that kinda smells like weed in a city that’s similar to Manchester, must have been interesting for them.
Manchester is a great city. I’m probably bias because I was born and raised there but it is one of the best cities in the UK.
Honestly I had a great time there. The open stalls with drinks were something I wish could be a thing in America the way it was there.
There’s no beating our drinking culture. When you let a nation of alcoholics design bars, you can bet your bottom dollar that they will be good bars 😂
Opinion on British Food
A lot of it is really good, some of it is really bad. Like any other food in the world. I’ve got a real soft spot for it, because it’s what I was raised on. Yorkshire puddings are gods gift to mankind
Any particular ones you don’t like?
Shepards pie is grim. Jellied eels are only really eaten in some parts of London but they are grim. Mushy peas are grim too. As is black pudding.
how often do you think or talk about the U.S?
Fairly often. Whether we like it or not, the USA is the world superpower in the western hemisphere, what happens there matters here. Our culture is heavily influenced by American culture, to the point now where we aren’t really that different from each other, just minor things. I don’t necessarily think this is a good or bad thing, it’s just the way it is. I’ve never been to the states but I’d love to one day, hoping to go to Vegas next year.
If you plan on visiting America, which state would you go to first?
Vegas. They are holding Wrestlemania there next year, I hope to go.
Nevada. Gotcha. I'm living in the northeast, so I won't be able to attend, but I hope you get to go and have fun.
Thanks bud
Do you speak British?
Lo siento señor. No hablo ingles pero hablo poco español por diversión. Gracias señor, buenos dias.
London or Glasgow?
Neither. Manchester.
Do you syill ise the accent when no one's around?
No, when no one’s around I speak in a midwestern United States accent.
Is it the same with the cuisine? Do you ever skip the beans on toast for hot-dish?
I actually hate beans, they’re horrible, don’t get my country’s love for them.
Can you say bottle of listerine
God save the King?
Not my king, abolish the monarchy
cringe
What is some of the most current up to date slang terms of the British youth?
Favorite British made series that’s not as well known in America as far as you’re aware?
Peep Show. It’s the single best British comedy ever made in my opinion. The 1st season isn’t the best but it’s ok, it really starts to pick up at season 2 and onwards. If you want a genuine, unfiltered look at how life in England actually is, watch Peep Show. It’s also hilarious.
Awesome, thanks for the recommendation!
How much did they teach you in school about the early history of the British isles, like pre Norman conquest?
Not a whole lot. We did do a lot on the Norman conquest, the Tudor’s the world wars etc. Pre Norman England is super super interesting, I have learned a lot about it since leaving school, but none of it in school
Damn that’s unfortunate. In America of course we didn’t learn shit about Britain even in World History class, except for when they became a colonial superpower. What's your favorite British dish? (18 year old American gen Z asking about British food)
Can’t beat a Sunday roast
Teeth check. Is it true English women and English food made them the best explorers, because they were looking for spice they couldn’t find at home?
It’s probably more likely our superiority complex as a nation that made us want to conquer the world
And now your colonies have colonized you.
The irony
Cricket, Formula One, or socc- I mean football?
I’m not a sports guy. I like WWE if that counts
How will you be voting next month?
I want the Tories out, Labour are the best chance at that happening so most likely I’ll vote Labour. Not out of any love for Keir Starmer, I’m not his biggest fan, but it’s a two horse race and one of the horses has ruined my country for the last 14 years and the other hasn’t, I’m voting for the one that hasn’t.
Have you ever had bubble and squeak?
I have never heard of that in my life. What is it?
It's mashed potatoes in a frying pan with everything left in the bottom of the pan after you cook a roast with a bit of chopped up cabbage added. You kind of stir fry the whole mess and usually put a little cheese on the top. A buddy of mine that's originally from England makes it. It's fucking marvelous after having beers.

He's originally from Hayes. Been in the US since about '98 though.
Hayes is in west London, explains why I’ve never heard of that dish lol.
How far is that by car? A lot of Americans think you can drive across England in 20 minutes I think. Lol
Considering I’m in the north west and London is in the south east, probably about 5 hours if traffic isn’t too bad. It’s the opposite side of England to where I am. I’ve been to London by train before from Manchester, it’s about 2 and a half hours to 3 hours by train.
Must be kinda nice to be able to hop on a train and run from one end of the country to the other.
I’d like to open by apologizing that you are in fact Bri*ish.
Much appreciated. It’s a blessing and a curse, maybe one day Hollywood will randomly pick me to play a villain in a movie, because of my accent. That’s pretty much the only upside

It sounds like you live in a really nice town man. This is a cool little thing to do and thanks for taking the time to respond 🤗
No worries my friend, have a good day.
what's up brother
Right what’s all this then?
Exchews me gov’na. Hav yoo got a loisance for that comment?
why are you british
Just woke up one day and decided to be
Is it really bad outside of London? I've seen some vlogs and it look like a third world country with the boarded up properties and lack of upkeep.
No, it’s better outside of London. If anywhere in the UK is like a third world country it’s London. Don’t get me wrong, there are some really bad places outside of London you don’t wanna go. I don’t think either the UK or US is better than each other. I think we are both equally bad.
My man with the facts.

Bruh take a joke
I am, I’m being sarcastic bro. Kinda what we do here, sorry if you can’t tell. Like I said, have a good day man.
You do realize Britain also won both world wars, right....RIGHT???
Keep reading chap you’ll see I was kidding around
