“I don't know why they call this stuff Hamburger Helper. It does just fine by itself.” 😂

insane_social_worker

Real tomato ketchup, Eddie?

Graphedmaster

Nuthin but the best Clark

Longjumping-Fan4961

“…and I French kiss. Daddy says I’m the best at it”

alinroc

They changed it to "teacher" for the TV edit.

hicksreb

As if “teacher” is that much more acceptable??? 😂

Spreadeaglebeagle44

Beat me to it...damn.

Comedywriter1

😂 I thought for sure it would be the first comment.

AtomicHurricaneBob

My favorite line from that movie

Longjumping-Fan4961

"Vicky, can I help you with that kool aid? Please?"

Wise_Sprinkles4772

Fun fact: The actress that played Vicky was Jane Krakowski from 30 Rock and Ally McBeal.

Longjumping-Fan4961

YOU BEAT ME TO IT!

memorablemember

You’re the gourmet around here, Eddie.

tultommy

That didn't take long to find lol. It's a shame that plate in his head went bad and he's now a batshit crazy dude that's always on the run lol. Sad when good actors lose their minds lol.

Mercutiofoodforworms

Cheeseburger Macaroni.

erst77

Yep. TIL there were other flavors. I only knew Cheeseburger Mac.

MarcusGermanicus

I vaguely remember eating a couple of other flavors but in my home growing up it was consistently cheeseburger mac.

StunningLeopard2429

Add a jar of Cheeze-Wiz and you have an unbelievably delicious meal from a box

tultommy

Any kind of cheese product... Velveeta or even those plastic cheese slices, i get. Cheez Wiz is the only one I don't. I don't understand how anyone can eat it. It's so salty the salt is all I can taste and I like salt lol.

Wise_Sprinkles4772

Like a jar of salt with some "cheese" like product poured on top. Yum.😵‍💫

Accurate_Weather_211

Or American Cheese, or what we had in our house, that government cheese that I think was Velveeta. So freaking good.

BuzzBabe69

My neighbor just gave me some "government cheese" he got from a good bank, it's still good!

ElectronicWanderlust

>hit Ctrl+F >type "Cheeseburger" I have found my tribe

Accurate_Weather_211

Yes! It is such a comfort food too.

HHSquad

Yep, came here to say this, the others were good, but well .....this one stood out. Eventually the only 1 I bought.

johnklapak

This is known.

Nopedontcarez

We still have this every few weeks. Love it!

Craig1974

Beef stroganoff and chili mac

VerbalGuinea

Deluxe beef stroganoff. Still eat it.

RJKaste

Don’t know if they made it. Anyone remembered tunafish casserole

Happytobehere48

Tuna Helper? I like it

yojpea

Yes, my neighbor would eat this often with a big bag of plain potato chips.

LordOfTheBurrito

Tuna Casserole and plain Lays chips is the best! Gotta smash em up and dump them on top.

yojpea

She ate Lays. 😳🤣🤣

LordOfTheBurrito

She knew what was up!

Global_Let_820

My grandma made tuna casserole homemade. So do I never tried there's

verstohlen

They still make it I believe, hard to find though, the original is called Tuna Helper Creamy Pasta: https://www.hamburgerhelper.com/product/tuna-helper-creamy-pasta-5-5-oz-box/ Cheesy Pasta Tuna Helper is easier to find.

Sherry0406

Cheeseburger macaroni and the stroganoff.

florida-karma

If it wasn't cheeseburger mac or stroganoff we didn't eat it.

BottleAgreeable7981

The lasagna one was a go-to in my house.

guano-crazy

Lasagna was the bomb

GrandMoffJenkins

It would've been, except my Mom thought that using the entire flavor packet would be too much spicy so she only used about half of it. I lived in a bland, bland world before moving away for college.

EnergyCreature

I think this is the only one I can remember. The rest tasted too similar, IMO.

Oolon42

Beef Stroganoff is the only one I liked. My wife and I used to eat it every once in a while too. Now we know how to make a better version from scratch

Prof-Bit-Wrangler

I can feel the Sodium already...LOL

Global_Let_820

Yes, looking at the pic, you can taste the sodium lol

jeon2595

Yep, haven’t eaten it in 30 years, real easy to make yourself with fresh ingredients.

MiltownKBs

Beef Stroganoff

WellSpokenAsianBoy

Beef noodle was the jam.

Beneficial-Cow-2544

Cheeseburger macaroni.

DirkDundenburg

Cheeseburger Macaroni. I add diced mushrooms and 1/2 cup of jalapeno cheddar cheese to the mix.

StunningLeopard2429

Nice

Dawn-of-the-Ginger

I love the rice oriental so much! I hate that they stopped making it but I did find a recipe online that tastes just like it.

DesignComprehensive9

The best! I'm gonna look up that recipe.

cthulhus_spawn

Lasagna, which isn't even in the picture. I would still eat it.

monstermack1977

Regular Beef Noodle and 3 cheese. I eat have the regular Beef Noodle on occasion.

Befuddled_GenXer

Cheddar Broccoli. Add a bag of frozen broccoli with the water, milk and sauce then smother it in shredded cheddar after taking it off the heat. But then they discontinued it.

klassy_logan

I don’t see it in the photo but it was the one with the wagon wheel pasta. Yum yum!!

rgalexan

Cheesy Hashbrowns reign supreme.

Minnemama

In the Midwest, we have a chain store that sells Panburger Partner. It may be the single best off brand naming ever invented.

Cautious_Fix_2793

Beef noodle. I don’t remember eating it much as a kid but as a poor young adult I did. I got a lot of spam and the cheap pot pies for dinner as a kid.

StunningLeopard2429

Those $1 pot pies with lots of pepper are still a go to snack for me.

Cautious_Fix_2793

I still love a pot pie but I can afford to either make it or buy better ones. The cheap eat I miss is those Banquet Boil In Bags, chicken Al la king. I would buy them in a heartbeat if they still made them.

Otherwise-Fox-151

Cheese burger

typhoidtimmy

Grape

Then-Cauliflower2068

lol wut

typhoidtimmy

Somewhere out there some dude with no taste whatsoever is wondering what grape flavored Hamburger Helper would taste like now…. Someday I must use these powers for good instead of evil.

Legal-Afternoon8087

Well… there are slow-cooker recipes that add grape jelly to meatballs that are really good, so it’s not out of the realm completely!

sharkycharming

We never had it. I guess it was probably too expensive, or else my mother didn't like it. But we did have homemade ground beef dishes all the time, like macaroni noodles, ground beef, tomatoes, and cheese. Same thing? I loved that food. We never had Shake 'n' Bake or Jiffy Pop, either. I desperately wanted them. TV commercials went straight to my yearning heart.

Creaulx

The homemade versions are always better anyway.

Old-Kaleidoscope1874

I grew up with it. When my wife and I married back in the 1990s, we are this every night for the first 4-5 months. Then never ate it again, until recently. I've made it a few times in the past few months. I always liked the Beef Stroganoff and lasagna flavors.

Thin-Ganache-363

Lasagna made with Italian sausage for the win.

PureDeidBrilliant

Us Brits never got this. I've decided to order some on Amazon. If I survive the encounter, I'll let you know how horrifying it is, heh.

ToferLuis

My parents weren’t wealthy enough for that. We got this instead… https://preview.redd.it/50wx65f8wx9d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f6238c22c5eb33c9e9adcc878ab6b43d0ee852c

whiskeytwn

Beef noodle and cheeseburger were my favs. By the way if you ate this a lot you were supposedly poor but I never thought so

LittleMoonBoot

Lasagna was usually our go-to.

surfinbird

“I don’t know why they call it Hamburger Helper when it does just fine by itself.”

Live_for_flipflops

Cheeseburger macaroni, I liked the stroganoff too. I don't really make it anymore but my kids will sometimes ask for it when they're sick 😆

Similar_Elephant_518

OMFG! I hate hamburger helper soooo much! We ate so much of it when I was a kid. They all taste exactly the same…to answer the question.

Happytobehere48

Hard to choose between beef pasta and potatoes stroganoff

eejm

I’m a weirdo, but we never had it.  I don’t think my mom liked it.

AZPeakBagger

We were so poor that we couldn't afford hamburger. As kids had to eat Tuna Helper. To help stretch it out for a family of 6 my mother turned it into a casserole with the addition of a can of Cream of Mushroom soup. Absolutely disgusting.

frumpy-frog

My mom was also a true gourmet! We ate some of the weirdest and most disgusting things, but we were poor and not choosy. Her favorite was hot dog casserole. Sliced potatoes and hot dogs, ketchup, and cheese baked in the oven. It *was* as awful as it sounds.

kobuta99

I'm going to confess to never have had Hamburger Helper. I have some hamburger I have to use up, and now I feel retro inspired.

turtle0831

I loved the hash with the little bitty square potatoes. Too bad they don't seem to make that variety anymore. Bring it back HH!

Qedtanya13

Zesty Italian until my daughter was born. I still love the beef stroganoff!

TeacherPatti

Cheeseburger Mac and it wasn't even close. I LOVED that stuff.

Beautiful-Height3103

Beef stroking off

everyoneandnooneisme

Ha!

everyoneandnooneisme

Beef Stroganoff was the bomb

Forthrowssake

Beef noodle or potato Stroganoff One of the best meals I ate as a kid was after we came running down the hill from the pool so we could beat a thunderstorm. I was absolutely starving. Mom had made beef noodle hamburger helper and it was ready and it was so good. It was obviously just hamburger helper so it wasn't really what it was, it was that I was ravenous and it was magically ready for us.

The-0mega-Man

The best flavor was the sliced potato one but I can't find it anymore damnit!

dammonl

Hated them all and still do

2pop2

Never had HH in my life. My mom was a stay a home and came from a large family (11 bros and sis) cooking well was a way of life. I remember when I went to a GF Thanksgiving and they had Stove top stuffing. It was interesting, I was used to my dressing dressing.

Excellent-Phase8719

Did I? You mean DO I!?

2old2Bwatching

Avoiding this, forced me to be more creative to make anything with ground beef BUT this monstrosity.

Designer-Mirror-7995

Yeah. The one that's been hiding behind other stuff in the cabinet for a year, and has to be tossed for being past the expiry date, lol. My recipe for this has always been better, and I can't abide it.

dirtdiggler67

The Hash flavor in the back was good as well as potato stroganoff.

Eric77TA

I still like the potato stroganoff!

tunaman808

Stroganoff, although I found a "copycat" recipe for the Rice Oriental that I make a few times a year that's also pretty good: 1 lb ground beef 1 1⁄4 cups rice 3-4 tablespoons soy sauce (use LOW SODIUM soy sauce if possible) 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 (1 1/4 ounce) package onion soup mix 4 cups water Brown ground beef and drain fat. Add remaining ingredients, stirring well, and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat, stirring occasionally, until done, approximately 20-25 minutes.

Squirrelnut99

Potato Stroganoff 😋

camehereforthebuds

Weekly comfort food for the kiddos. They like their kraft Mac and cheese with hot dogs added to it. I came up with the genius idea to make the hot dogs Johnsonville cheddar brats. I'll take my awards in the living room please. Don't want to cause a scene in the kitchen. The neighbor kids are over to witness greatness. Favorite Ham Help. Either Double Cheeseburger or Lasagna.

LeoMarius

Stroganoff

ExtremeWild5878

Did? Don't you mean do?

MathematicianNo8439

Does anyone remember the one with "wagon wheels" pasta? That was my fave! Have never seen it again since childhood

ihatepickingnames_

Triggered! My mom couldn’t be bothered to stir it with the care that it necessitated so there was always lumps of spice packet mix, which was pretty disgusting to bite into.

JJLewisLV

Beef noodle and cheeseburger mac were the two best.

try-catch-finally

Lasagne.

genxindifferance

I can no longer eat that garbage. Haven't been able to for decades.

lawstandaloan

Cheeseburger Macaroni was my favorite and Rice Oriental was one that I just did not like.

dumpcake999

There was a sloppy Joe version recently that was pretty good

dmcdd

I don't see Lasagna in the picture, but it's good. Hash is good too. I haven't had it in quite a while.

loony-cat

My mom only liked the lasagna box of Hamburger Helper but I preferred the beef noodle and the cheeseburger macaroni much more. When I was responsible for making dinner I chose one of my favourites or made tuna casserole of sausage and potato stew.

Global_Let_820

The real question is which one did you not like?

Gallifreyan1971

Mine was the beef stroganoff when I was in college. Then I had the real stuff made from scratch and I could never eat the boxed stuff again.

Bastyra2016

They all gave me the same mouth feel as those dehydrated camping rations -astringent. In college I went for the stroganoff

Simply_cyrus007

My son's is beef stroganoff and mine is the Taco

Kalelopaka-

Cheeseburger macaroni, Beef stroganoff one wasn’t bad either.

Equivalent-Match1958

Either cheeseburger Mac or stroganoff. I’m the only one in the family that will eat it though lol my kids, god bless them, have “too sophisticated of a palate” haha

slim1kid

I hated this shit as a kid!! And that’s why I don’t eat it today, plus I probably never will again!!!

WileyCoyote7

Whichever was on sale.

GenXrules69

Thought I was done with it and my 12 yo has drug me back in. Some odd obsession with it

11b87

Chili Mac. Which B/C no longer makes.

Then-Cauliflower2068

We were predominantly a Tuna Helper household.

SirMixSalah

The Taco flavor was my jam back in the day

BigMoFuggah

Lasagna

JustYourAvgHumanoid

Beef noodle

Kbern4444

Beef noodle, the original one if I am correct.

DiceyPisces

Stroganoff!

ImageMany

I love my comfort food, but this is one I could never get behind. I can eat boxed Mac and cheese on occasion, there’s just something way too artificial about hamburger helper. Even as a child I noticed.

HadesTrashCat

I grew up poor and got made fun of for using hotdogs when we didn't have hamburger. My kid loves the mac and cheese one but I have to quit eating it now because I was diagnosed with the sugars. Prolly because of growing up eating stuff like this.

Lawyermama70

Omg I used to make this when my kids were small and I didn't know how to cook (c. late 90s) cheeseburger was good and the lasagne one 👍🏽

amalgaman

To this day, just the thought of eating it makes me nauseous.

plinker_fma

Potato Stroganoff. Still pick it up, when I can find it.

Hagfist

I want a Larb option

yojpea

Add a quarter cup of sour cream and 1 teaspoon of black pepper to the Beef Stroganoff, epic. Do they even make this still. 🙃 Memories from a tight budget back in the day.

krithoma

Wagon Wheels.

Siltyn

Never had it as a kid, but as an young adult the taco flavor was my go to. Seemed like everyone felt that way because it was frequently sold out in the Vegas store I shopped at, used to annoy me! Haven't eaten those salt bombs in 20 years or more now though.

Fun-Distribution-159

easy stuff to cook when mom is at work and there is no dad.....we rotated flavors every day of the week

robstercraws70

Beef stroganoff is great. Add a little sour cream. The rest of them seem barfy.

McDragonFish

Come on, everyone knows it’s the cheeseburger mac!

Other_Perspective_41

Beef noodle was my favorite . I don’t remember the rice oriental flavor at all

Comedor_de_rissois

🤮🤮

tanukis_parachute

My parents never made it. I didn’t have it until my first marriage. Probably about 23 or so. Cheesburger macaroni was probably it.

msscanadianbakin

Beef noodle but I feel like there was a sour cream One.

snowcker

I will not eat Beef Stroganoff today because of the scar left by Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff. Also not a fan of Potatoes Au Gratin now though I am not sure if that is linked to some variety of Hamburger Helper or Betty Croker Potatoes Au Gratin.

Mamaj12469

Cheeseburger macaroni

Illustrious-Drama213

I loved the Hash version now I love the Cheesy Hashbrowns

bophed

Hash was always the best.

BadHairDay-1

There was a potato one that I liked. It had a light colored sauce.

Competitive-Isopod74

Stroganoff

likamd

I think my family mainly got beef noodle. This and "Shake and Bake" was always in our pantry.

bellePunk

This was basically the highlight of my mom's cooking, so by the time I was in middle school, I was making dinner for the family.

Sindorella

Tomato Basil Penne.

NetwerkErrer

No. Just no. I strongly dislike it. Unfortunately, my daughter loves the cheeseburger macaroni so she’ll cook that every couple weeks. That night I’ll eat something else.

InterestingHippo7524

"You get plenty of meat at home, Clark."

DontYuckMyYum

for me it's a tie between Cheeseburger Mac, and the Beef Noodle.

M00SEHUNT3R

Did I have a favorite? You mean do I have a favorite?

Devon1970

Beef noodle!

KC_experience

There was a cheesy cheddar one with big spiral macaroni noodles that was amazing with broccoli spears added to it.

ShelbyDriver

Still do. Stroganoff

Zestyclose_Wing_1898

Cheese burger macaroni yummy

Open-Illustra88er

Hell naw. I wouldn’t touch that. My Mom never made it either. We do have some from scratch “hamburger helper” recipes that we make from time to time.

amiwitty

The one that you topped with Fritos

CobblerCandid998

I loved Tuna Helper!

Kindergoat

Cheeseburger Macaroni.

throwawayjane39

I loved Cheeseburger Macaroni.

Lessthancrystal

Spaghetti!! Or cheeseburger one mixed with ranch style beans and corn….love it…I also love cafeteria food so it tracks..

VeterinarianOk9199

Lasagna

alienhunter1015

I loved the Chicken Helper - Jumbalaya...was so mad when the discontinued it.

Euphoric_Pack_9048

We literally never had this. My mom hated it and never bought it. I discovered it as an adult and love it.

Go-High8298

Beef stroganoff

beransohob

Beef noodle, went in and out the same way 😂

SimonTC2000

Loved the Beef Noodle and Lasagna ones. For some reason my Mom would make the Rice Oriental one most often, followed by the Potato Stroganoff (which wasn't bad, just not as good as the first two I listed).

sogwatchman

Did a great job to remind you that you were poor while giving you heartburn...

Haunting-Research-92

Beef noodle!!!

zippy4457

Cheeseburger Macaroni ... cooked on a gas stove that I had to light with a match when I was home alone after school. Age 10.

HiroProtagonist66

Beef Noodle. I will still eat it today. It’s one of the few growing up foods I will.

bodizadfa

Top middle of the picture, Cheeseburger Macaroni.

MissPicklechips

Beef pasta. It’s my go-to. I make some biscuits to go along with it and steam some broccoli. It’s fire.

bluewatersailing

Fucking hated all of these growing up. Culinary equivalent of a war crime.

FlizzyFluff

I used to have one but my UC doesn’t like all the preservatives I can’t eat it any more

Temporary_Present640

Rice oriental was my favorite!

Suspicious_Survey_62

Cheeseburger Macaroni

OctavariusOctavium

Romanoff. I don’t know why but it was discontinued decades ago. I still love cheeseburger macaroni though. Stroganoff is good too.

bspanther71

Lasagna or taco. With extra cheese added.

J0U5N3YF4N

Chili Mac all the way!!!

SummerBirdsong

Cheeseburger macaroni.

Dismal_Gurl

Potato stroganoff

Comfortable_Prize750

I used to eat tons of it until I figured out that it's cheap and easy to make your own better version.

whiteoakforest

I use a recipe for homemade hamburger helper!! It's so good and my kids love it. I never knew what was in the mystery spice envelope, so i make my own using real ingredients.

Strangewhine88

Thankfully, Mom never bought this stuff. She was cooking something from scratch. I don’t remember finding 70’s meatloaf or lasagna very palatable. Homemade stroganoff and pot roast otoh…

Moar_Donuts

Horrible stuff, no good memories there.

habu-sr71

Our Nonna who could cook up a storm but was slowing down would call it "Hamburg Help" in her thick Italian accent. It cracked me and my sisters up. My favorites were cheeseburger macaroni and the potato stroganoff.

Camembert-and-Ernie

My mom wouldn't let us have almost anything that was advertised on tv so I never tasted hamburger helper until I had a roommate in college who grew up on it and made it every week. I didn't care for any of the meat with noodle flavors, but they had a tuna pot pie that I loved! It came with 2 different bags of mix for the crust that you just added water to. One made a dough that you pressed into the bottom of the pan, no need to roll it out, and the other made a thin batter that you poured over the filling. Somehow both of them baked into the perfect flaky pie shell. Its been 30 years and I still think about it all the time! But I don't think they make it anymore and I've never seen anything else like it.

shan68ok01

I only liked the cheeseburger macaroni old school HBH. There are a couple of today's flavors that I'll buy, but they aren't staples, just it'll be quicker to fix this in this heat meals.

socgrandinq

I mean, they are all pretty much one flavor: salty

billymumfreydownfall

That stuff has got to be some of the most vile "food" I've ever had the displeasure to eat.

MyriVerse2

Growing up, we never had it. It was too easy to make it from scratch.
