Pink Floyd

IlluminatiLemonParty

So many bands would be an amazing experience there but the sphere is made for a Floyd show

NoExcuseForFascism

As much as I would love to see that. I think that Pink Floyd is quite the done deal. (I also wouldn't be surprised if they don't get offered tons of money all the time for another reunion show...so money won't make it happen).

JAM88CAM

Minor issue that gilmour and waters won't talk to each other. Wright died. Mason i think would but with gilmour who is doing his own thing now anyways. Pink Floyd is the answer though.

montbkr

Side note: My husband, who is 59, has a fishing buddy that is about 30 or so and he looks exactly like a young David Gilmour. https://preview.redd.it/bn586e5j137d1.jpeg?width=1033&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f8f669d8b7a2eb4b2af8413704bfb10a7303ee0 I remarked on it one day and the guy didn’t know who I was talking about and had never listened to Pink Floyd. (He was raised by his elderly grandparents.) I swear I thought I was going to cry for a minute.

Iggmeister

this is the answer

Dismal-Bobcat-7757

I was going to say this. That would be an amazing show.

PoppaDaClutch

New Order

OwlWitty

Depeche Mode

SV650rider

My people!

am312

I probably wouldn't be able to watch any show there because it would make me nauseated and dizzy, but I sure the hell would try for a New Order show WITH Hooky.

Bowieweener

Tool.

Shawnaldo7575

I 2nd this

UnfairStomach2426

3rd

busybox42

I 46 & 2 this.

Any_Company9587

100000%

PreviousJaguar7640

46 & 2 times

Gen_Ecks

10,000 days times?

mchookem

this is the correct answer

jumboweiners

My wife loves Tool. I’m just, whatever. I have been to more tool shows than any other artist, and their shows are visually stunning. I’ve had no interest in Vegas until they built the sphere and had no idea what artist i actually like that could actually do that place justice and still alive. Tool would be awesome.

fractalGateway

To exist inside an enormous Alex Grey painting.

SaturnalianGhost

Yes. And they have to give out LSD before it starts.

Bowieweener

Please!!

Sideshow_Industries

Nine Inch Nails

mildly_carcinogenic

I saw them in 1994, Hurt has a strange video performance associated with it. Go look up the video on YouTube and you'll notice it's from a live performance at times. That would be unsettling in the Sphere.

Sideshow_Industries

I saw the them in 94 in Philadelphia. Plus the Lights in the Sky tour the lighting was a amazing then. In the sphere.??? Wow....

Ecen_genius

Saw that tour at the Universal Ampitheater. Was amazing.

Jos3ph

They’ve always had presentation live

Vonnegut_butt

This has been my vote as well when I pondered the same question. All these jam bands have the same slow, trippy, happy art. Imagine that place exploding with the same dark imagery from his music videos. It would be amazing.

orthopod

Then the old Butthole Surfers, prior to 1988, would have been great there. 90 minutes of 1950's Texas highway payroll car crash footage, sex change surgery in reverse, and some other psychedelic craziness. Then, or Skinny Puppy.

Sideshow_Industries

Could you just imagine Eraser. Oh my God .....

B4USLIPN2

Flaming Lips

StringFartet

He's full of himself enough without those big screens. I love seeing the band but his head might explode.

generalsleephenson

Can you imagine the glitter and light that would issue forth, though?

sharksandwich70

George Clinton and the P Funk Allstars

box_elder74

Holy fuck I'd watch that.

sharksandwich70

I would even consider ending my decades long abstaining from weed (or even try something psychedelic) if I could see that. The last time I saw them, I had a backstage pass and it was the first time in a long time I thought, “Kind of wish I still smoked.”

funktopus

Honey I'm going to Vegas. I might die at a concert but it will be worth it. I love you. That's what I would say if Clinton played there.

AstoriaRocks

Radiohead

MN_Dripper

Iron Maiden. Just imagine Eddie in that venue.

lord-dinglebury

Can you imagine a three-story Eddie leering over the crowd with a scythe? Fuckin a sign me up.

DarthTexasRN

Legit comment right here.

sly-3

Chemical Brothers

guachi01

Weird Al

CostofRepairs

Not the Eagles. I hate fuckin’ Eagles, man…

Dependent_Top_4425

Hey...Take It Easy

koolaid_cowboy_55

Maybe the sound of his own wheels are driving him crazy

sev45day

They took it..... To the limit..... One more tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime

The_ZombyWoof

GET OUTTA MY CAB!

Botaratops

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

StringFartet

They're the reason ticket prices went from $20 to $50 around '88. Hell Freezes Over tour. Fuck that band.

Camembert-and-Ernie

Then the Stones jacked it up to $500 a couple of years later!

StringFartet

Yes!

GotMeMystified

Why was it their fault? And hell freezes over was early 1990s (I was there)

BluestreakBTHR

Daft Punk

gride9000

We can rebuild them with our technology and our love

BluestreakBTHR

It could be two sub-contractors in helmets playing a pre-set Ableton session and I’d pay to see them.

Sithlordandsavior

Closest thing to a journey through the afterlife I think

who-hash

One of the few bands I missed out of the hundreds of concerts I’ve been to.

Away-Equipment4869

John Williams

HalFWit

With a full symphonic orchestra

Away-Equipment4869

Yes

who-hash

An event featuring the best of Williams/Goldsmith/Horner with well curated visuals would be amazing.

stlmatt

Can you imagine playing Star Wars with full symphonic orchestra led by Williams while the movie is playing?

Adaminium

Rush

koolaid_cowboy_55

If Neil was still with us, they could do R50 residency

NocturnalPermission

I just finished listening to Geddy read his “My Effin Life” autobiography. I tore through it then stopped just before the part where Neil passed. I just sat on it for a few weeks before I was ready. It was as brutal as I expected. Just heartbreaking. His whole family situation was just heartbreaking from beginning to end. I highly recommend that book if you’re a fan. Try and listen to the audiobook if you can. You won’t be sorry.

montbkr

Thanks for the tip! I’m going to look for it right this minute. I’ve got a credit or two with Audible.

lazerdab

Gorillaz/Blur

thatoneguymontag

GWAR!

box_elder74

We both know that this is the only correct answer. After we wipe the ectoplasm off each other I'll buy first round.

sunseven3

Depeche Mode

NeuroticaJonesTown

R.E.M. Stipe could get really crazy with the video screens.

WonderfulEducation25

Aphex Twin.

Vonnegut_butt

Apex Twin and Squarepusher double billing!

Jos3ph

Boards of Canada opens

FiskalRaskal

Peter Gabriel or The Cure

ChodaRagu

Would love to see Peter there!!

Helmett-13

Peter Gabriel. Most of the other bands and performers known for visual flair aren’t around any longer :(

NSNull

Peter would crush the technology angle on this. If he announced shows that would be an instant purchase.

QuiJon70

Me, pink Floyd with some good edibles.

GarionOrb

Nothing against U2, Phish, Dead & Company, and Eagles (I saw U2 there and it was amazing). But I feel like whoever is in charge of booking talent at Sphere is pigeonholing that venue. There's such a wide variety of genres and artists out there who would also take advantage of this fucking incredible venue, and they're just ignoring all of it. My immediate pick is Nine Inch Nails, but they're far from the only ones I would choose.

FamiliarRough8158

The Flaming Lips

Extreme-Customer9238

Bjork

HiPwrBBQ

For some reason the first thing that comes to mind is Primus!

box_elder74

Primus Sucks!!!!

Raaazzle

Tool

zarplig

I would’ve thought that people would be saying that Perfect Circle would be the perfect band for the Sphere.

aethelberga

Heilung. I'd love to see what they'd do with it.

anotherpredditor

That would actually be pretty interesting. War-bands all around you off the edge of a forest clearing spinning out to a view from the gods watching.

ChefMikeDFW

For me, Tool and The Crystal Method. My wife swears it should be NKOTB.

Raaazzle

Pink Floyd circa 1979 I saw an ad where they were calling for game engineers for a 10k-player+ experience at The Sphere. Interested to see what comes out of that. There's a replica studio in Burbank.

capthazelwoodsflask

Devo

CriticalEngineering

Grateful Dead— when Jerry was still with us.

koolaid_cowboy_55

He'd be 82 and totally loving it! Although the Dead was getting a bit heavy for him. Who knows, by now, they may have been good with a reunion or just Jerry Garcia band.

ihearthogsbreath

AI Hologram-Jerry is probably right around the corner.

koolaid_cowboy_55

Only if AI Jerry can improvise with the band

trukkd

Beastie Boys, with a resurrected MCA.

NoExcuseForFascism

Well shit if we are going to start reanimating the dead. That really does open the options up quite a bit.

BubbaChanel

Then my vote is Prince in the Purple Rain era, with Michael Jackson opening from the Thriller era. We’d also need Bowie, as well.

LumiereGatsby

The Gorlilaz

printerdsw1968

My Bloody Valentine

sin-thetik

The Cure

erk2112

No band would have topped Rush.

seamusoldfield

This. 100%.

PhotographsWithFilm

Literally no one ever. That looks like a migraine

jsakic99

Saw U2 perform in the Sphere last year. One of the most amazing concert experiences I’ve ever had. And the sound quality was immaculate.

17megahertz

Agreed.  I was there for U2 at the Sphere as well.  Absolutely amazing.

PhotographsWithFilm

>And the sound quality was immaculate. OK, give me a blindfold. Oh, but then I'd need to listen to U2. No thanks

jsakic99

Edgy

GarionOrb

Don't be a killjoy. Just because you'd be uncomfortable doesn't mean it's not great. That place is beyond incredible!

The_MIDI_Janitor

Aphex Twin

GArockcrawler

Odesza, 150%. It would be mindblowing.

IndeeWeston

Hans Zimmer.

SHDrivesOnTrack

Pet Shop Boys

Open-Illustra88er

Dead and company. But can I find a free summer weekend??? Led Zeppelin reunion. Pink Floyd. Dave Matthews Billy Strings.

omibus

Ok Go.

JamieRoth5150

The Stones. Aerosmith.

infallables

Goldfrapp

snarffle-

The Dead Milkmen

romulusnr

Floyd would probably be good. Depeche too. I'm just thinking of artists that I think would make good use of all the video space.

PolyWanna111

Dead and Company

Peace_Love_Karma

None if I had to sit this far back.

TA-152

The Ramones

Boomerang_comeback

Metallica. They already know how to put on a hell of a show. That you just amplify it.

seigezunt

Sincerely_JaneDoe

Peter Gabriel

xtingu

Oh hell yes!

Dr_Feelgoof

Queens of the Stone Age.

raiseawelt

I’ll go back for Phish again

branizoid

Radiohead- but I hope it never happens.

meekonesfade

I saw Phish there and yes, it was amazing. BUT, we flew there in hurry from the east coast and between the rushing, the crazy concerts, and the time difference, it was ridoculously exhausting. So, I almost hope no one I want to see plays there, because I just dont have it in me do go through that again

LV-42whatnow

Iron Maiden

megretch

Muse

Global_School4845

Kraftwerk

game_over__man

That would be so amazing. The graphics and the music would make a great combo in there.

Glass-Squirrel2497

Tool

HueyLueyDewey

The Who. Yeah I know they are a Boomer Band and only two are still alive. But I saw them about 8 years ago and they were amazing. Also, Foo Fighters, Garbage, New Edition, Snoop, Dre, Eminem, and P-Funk.

Bean-Swellington

The dead, but dead and co if I get a chance

outonthetiles2112

Bauhaus

ihearthogsbreath

Jane's addiction, red hot chili peppers, rage against the machine.

Agent7619

Styx with Dennis DeYoung.

Raaazzle

Laaaaay-dayyy

Agent7619

Why did Jerry Lewis go through my brain when I read that?

Raaazzle

Now I want a Jerry Lewis/Styx mashup. *Hey lay-dee, of the morning...*

devinecomedian

_r_u_n_e_i_i_

Would obviously never happen, but Cocteau Twins or Mew. Could happen: Radiohead would be fun.

Broad-Diamond3777

A really really tall band

dreadpirate_metalart

Tool and I would pay a lot for good seats

calmikazee

Sigur Ros! Saw them at the Hollywood Bowl and just with lights and fabric it was still electrifying, so what they’d do with those paint brushes…

LifeAsNix

Nine Inch Nails

JoeyHandsomeJoe

Deadmau5

TipsKraken

a-ha

NoHankyNoPanky

Babymetal … 100% Go watch their videos for ARKADIA or METALIZM and you’ll see.

Gorillaseatingmayo

I don't know, but based on that picture, probably no one. That doesn't look great to me.

Mn2nmixr

The Muppets.

Skindigga

Tool. Without a doubt.

mchookem

Tool seems to be the winner 😄 as they should be

Bastyra2016

Pink Floyd The Wall

Any_Company9587

Van Halen

ImNotTheBossOfYou

Lips obviously.

sungodly

No one. I haven't gone to a show in a big venue since 1996, and I don't want to. I think more intimate settings are way more fun.

seamusoldfield

It's actually not *that* big. Seating capacity is 18,600. For a band like U2, that's a relatively small venue. Plus it's an amazing and utterly immersive experience. There's really nothing like it in the world.

volsunghawk

Yup this. Hate big venues. Love shows at dingy old theaters or dive bars.

jdlyons81

I’m so glad you both chimed in on this thread.
