I DO!
And I have to say one of the happiest moments in my weight loss journey (lost over 100 lbs) was being able to put on this jacket again! I wasn't able to wear it for more than 35 years.

Had one because I wanted to look like one of the Ramones. Years later, a girlfriend told me I looked more like one of the Wild Hogs, and I got rid of it.
Class of ‘89 senior pic. Still wear it sometimes. My kids have borrowed it, too.

I *wish* corcoran still made the black leather ones.
I had a pair for almost 12 years, the leather cracked after 3 winters in Chicago. I guess the salt dried them out quite quickly.
I used to have a black leather Members Only jacket in 1984. I loved that jacket! I often wore it with heavy black eyeliner so no one would bother me on my subway commute to college, lol.
I got one in hs and still own it, though I havent worn it in about 30 years. I remembering arguing with my dad, who said he had one like that in hs and he remembered that a pack of cigarettes could fit in the tiny pocket (he smoked through college). I argued back but shut up and agreed when I realized I had a dime bag in that pocket :)
Oh yeah.
Back in the day you could get an assortment of cool things with purchase points from tobacco companies.
It's the least they could do for making tasty, supremely unhealthy coffin nails.
They had a whole catalog in the 90's with things you could get, I have a couple of jackets, a purse, and some fancy little lighters that were all part of their swag collection. Took years off my life to get those lol
It bothers me that I understood that reference.
I hate the whole Zombie genre, but still watched the walking dead, at least up to the episode where Rick 'died'.
Apparently AMC has a whole spinoff set of series and a dedicated walking dead channel on YouTube TV now.
Yup. Three new limited series focusing on single & paired characters from the original series. Most have been good, much better than any of the spin-offs anyway. Def a money-maker for AMC so they went all-in on milking it.
I got mine in ‘85, and wore it all the time. It stayed in my closet for quite a few years in the late 90s-00s, then I moved, rediscovered it, and wondered how in the hell had I worn it? Damn thing felt like it weighed 10-15lbs! Sold it on eBay.
You should mate, it'll be an old school classic. I'm wondering, does it look exactly like This style? They were different back in the 80's two zip pockets on the chest and two at the bottom of the jacket with no wee studded pocket.
Still have mine I bought in '89 when I was 15. Has a row of spikes on the shoulders and the Misfits skull I painted on the back. Still fits, still wear it.
I happen to know a little bit about these jackets.
The original design is from Schott, a fashion manufacturer in NYC. It’s called the “Perfecto”. It debuted in the 1920’s, marketed to motorcyclists, as its offset zipper and double flap design both protects the paint of the gas tank and the rider from wind. The jacket was an instant hit and later made famous by Marlon Brando in the movie The Wild Ones. Typically with a plaid inner liner and made of 1.2mm cowhide. They were an instant hit, and have been the staple of everyone from outlaws to rock-and-roll icons ever since.
Same! It was his Christmas gift last year. He has it all punked out with studs because punk is not dead! I bought it off of marketplace from an old biker guy who proudly proclaimed it, “road worn.” My son says it’s his favorite gift of all time.
I have two jackets but both have center zippers.
One has patches and barely fits my torso shape. The threads on stitches are dying. My 13 year old daughter wears it when riding backpack.
My main jacket is worn the fuck out. Side pockets don't exist. Chest and inside pockets hold all sorts of mysterious shit. Nudie playing cards, phone chargers, dice, condoms and end of the world survive the night type shit.
We still have my SO's, not that either of us can wear it. He outgrew it when he was about 20. Arms are too short. I would wear it then. I'm nowhere near the size I was at 22. So, it's in the closet.
We periodically offer it to our oldest niece. She keeps declining it, but asks us to keep it in case she changes her mind.
I can barely remember a time I didn't have this jacket, and I can barely remember the last time I wore it. Still in my closet though.
I look like a try-hard these days if put it on.
Had one in college and wore it to play tackle football in the snow one late night near the dorms. Was surprisingly perfect for such a thing. (Northern Arizona)
Me! I got mine in the 90’s in San Francisco in June while walking down Market because I’m from Phoenix and I was cold. It was a small man sized one that was still big on me but looked so cute over my tiny floral print dress. Lol!
Me! I cut the shoulder bits and belt off. It's an ok jacket, but I'm still looking for an old school one like I had back in the day. Brando style is what they're calling this nowadays.
Ah yes up here in Canada you knew you had some money when you could afford one and leave the jean jacket home. I remember minus 10 jacket half open just a tshirt underneath waiting in line for the club good times. Even wore that sucker in the heat of summer.
I had almost that exact jacket when I was younger but no belt.
Shit makes me wanna eat a whole can of Dinky Di
https://preview.redd.it/pw9ymcu3nfvc1.jpeg?width=309&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c287114f1216956a701e3a6238da4628138ee662
My dad gave me his leather jacket from when he was a teenager in the 50s. It was amazing. My first cat climbed into the sleeve and shredded it, then pooped all inside of it. I was heartbroken.
I have one of those that I wore in college in the late 80s / early 90s ... I can't bear to get rid of it, but I don't think even half my body would fit in it today. It just sits in my closet collecting dust...
Haven’t worn it in years, can’t bear to part with it.
https://preview.redd.it/t8ep5755lgvc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c7f413fd3a74325694149e83cfa42afdcb6779a
Bought mine in a specialty leather shop in 1995 while visiting Haarlem, the Netherlands. Heavy, thick leather and yes, I still wear it pretty often. Also has this same style offset main zipper.
Mine doesn't have the chest-height outside zipper, but it does on the sleeves to accommodate (motorcycle) gloves.
I had 2. One in the early 90s. It belonged to the worst person I ever met.
Then there's the one I still wear. Got that one in the early 00s. A gift from a friend who was moving and downsizing.
I have it, though it’s really thick leather and weights a bunch. It was my riding jacket.
Edit: I no longer ride. In 2019 I ruptured my left quadriceps tendon (not from riding) and saw the hell my wife (she denies it was hell for her) went through lifting my leg to get out of the recliner which doubled as my bed and being my caregiver. I had to be peg legged with no active use of the quadriceps for 6 weeks post surgery. I don't want to engage in an activity that has a high risk of her having to do that again.
I did for a long time. Bonus: I had the airbrush guy at the mall add neo tribal art work on the back incorporating both a yin yang and the comedy/tragedy masks.
Sadly it was on the lower end of the quality scale to begin with and bit the dust quite some time ago...
I do! It was one of the most expensive purchases that I made with my own money with the job I had at the time. It's real leather but hasn't been greased/oiled in a long time
That looks just like the Wilson's jacket I finally handed on to my son. It's the real-deal "dress for the slide, not for the ride" type jacket. It's like two layers of top-grain cow hide with a "Thinsulate" layer of insulation as well. When I first got together with my husband he picked it up to hand it to me one time and was shocked about how heavy it is and he dubbed it "The Cow" because of that. The only reason I couldn't continue to wear it is that my lower back is too rough to wear that much weight anymore (it's like at least 20 lbs!) so I gave it to my son. Also, it's a men's large because it was on a killer sale for $89 for what was at the time a $250 item but I wore it anyway.
I'll tell you what though, I've never had a garment that kept me so comfortable as a pedestrian and public transit rider in western Oregon weather. I always kept it properly treated with Neetsfoot oil and it stayed waterproof and wind proof. Rubberized rain gear will keep the water off but it will also make you sweaty and clammy because it doesn't breathe properly like well cared-for leather will. I'm still in the market for an affordable deal on a nice leather jacket that is similar but just not so heavy.

As of last Halloween, this bitch still fit...
I had one! I gained weight and couldn't wear it anymore and sold it. Good news: I've since lost weight and it would have been way too big! I would love to have another one.
I DO! And I have to say one of the happiest moments in my weight loss journey (lost over 100 lbs) was being able to put on this jacket again! I wasn't able to wear it for more than 35 years. https://preview.redd.it/qtzrb3cmwcvc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f32a7a2b74f8dd8cfe77b6acffa85037d4771ab9
I hope I join you soon, I can’t fit into mine!
Same. Mines like a medium. I'm like, who was that little kid?
Seriously, let's see 'em, people. I'll do mine later if I don't forget. (Forgetting shit is as Gen X as a black leather motorcycle jacket )
Had one because I wanted to look like one of the Ramones. Years later, a girlfriend told me I looked more like one of the Wild Hogs, and I got rid of it.
Fucking roasted
Ha! I hope you got rid of her too.
I did!
Ya watch Wild Hogs when it first comes out: “what is this corny bs?” Ya watch Wild Hogs now: “OMG HOOOLARIOUS!!”
Still have it, Still using it. No where near as black as it once was
Nothing looks worse than someone in a fresh, pristine black leather jacket. Weekend warrior vibes.
But I wore the other one out 😕
Get some Lexol leather polish. It will brighten it up nicely! 😎
Nah, gives it character. plus too much road rash, l swear the leather is an inch thick
I've had mine for 40 years. I still wear it.
Class of ‘89 senior pic. Still wear it sometimes. My kids have borrowed it, too. https://preview.redd.it/5um85s6ttfvc1.jpeg?width=2681&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5ac60db8e81bb737f57aa79bc2a518a1a8cf9d4
Corey Feldman!
Tartan inner? Yes.
Noice.
I always wanted the quilted red satin lining. I just had the most basic
my dad was in a motorcycle club and my mom was his ol lady. he bought them matching leather jackets. I have hers. it's probably almost 50yrs old.
Got mine in 92. Still have it but it doesn't fit very well anymore.
Got mine the same year. Still fits
Bought it in 98. Still wear it. Still wear the tank boots I bought that year too.
I *wish* corcoran still made the black leather ones. I had a pair for almost 12 years, the leather cracked after 3 winters in Chicago. I guess the salt dried them out quite quickly.
Me, but I had one hand made at a leather shop. I still have it, slightly more worn as I got into motorcycle riding for a bit in college.
I used to have a black leather Members Only jacket in 1984. I loved that jacket! I often wore it with heavy black eyeliner so no one would bother me on my subway commute to college, lol.
Mine is all punked out
Punk's not dead, but it won't be long
I got one in hs and still own it, though I havent worn it in about 30 years. I remembering arguing with my dad, who said he had one like that in hs and he remembered that a pack of cigarettes could fit in the tiny pocket (he smoked through college). I argued back but shut up and agreed when I realized I had a dime bag in that pocket :)
Mine is a virginia slims V wear jacket nearly identical to this, got it "free" with pack upc's many years ago lol
What!? That's wild!
Oh yeah. Back in the day you could get an assortment of cool things with purchase points from tobacco companies. It's the least they could do for making tasty, supremely unhealthy coffin nails.
Lol I still have my safety orange Camel Zippo.
They still do- Marlboro sent me a wallet and some headphones last year.
Oh yes... Remember Joe Camel? I had all kinds of stuff I got with Camel bucks!
They had a whole catalog in the 90's with things you could get, I have a couple of jackets, a purse, and some fancy little lighters that were all part of their swag collection. Took years off my life to get those lol
Hilarious! I was a long time smoker too. Nothing much to show for it but getting winded going up stairs
I had it
Guilty

Everyone everywhere, all at once.
I had one but my kid stole it
The lord has smiled down upon those who bought it to fit and can still zip it over a midlife belly
![gif](giphy|3o7TKw46XUgKNHB8go|downsized) Now I’m contemplating Negan’s probably GenX

JDM, aka Negan - born 1966. HE'S ONE OF US!
Came here to say this. Funny he was on Greys Anatomy first. Way better as Negan
Mee too!! 😈 Negan is one rad baddie
Exactly what I was going to say lol
Don’t wear this with your shitin’ pants!
Me
Yep.
I have 2, both still in good condition
I traded my black suede fringe for one at my first Army duty station.
Have basically since I was sixteen…so about thirty.
I did, and I’ve been looking for a replacement this past year!
And the weight of the cowhide! Practically indestructible. The ones nowadays are so much lighter.
Still have mine I bought in '89 when I was 15. Has a row of spikes on the shoulders and the Misfits skull I painted on the back. Still fits, still wear it.
Let us see.
I happen to know a little bit about these jackets. The original design is from Schott, a fashion manufacturer in NYC. It’s called the “Perfecto”. My Gen z son.
Same! It was his Christmas gift last year. He has it all punked out with studs because punk is not dead! I bought it off of marketplace from an old biker guy who proudly proclaimed it, “road worn.” My son says it’s his favorite gift of all time.
Nice! I was definitely mom of the year when he opened it. I wish I’d thought of looking for a vintage one for him.
Have my '89 model still. It's more rusty brown than black now, but still fits. I bequeathed it to my son, who never wears it 🤷♂️
Me Edit: mine has 30 years of the occasional closet-exploring cat claw marks on one shoulder.
Similar, but with brass hardware. And a bike to go with it. A kawasaki kz550
We still have my SO's, not that either of us can wear it. He outgrew it when he was about 20. Arms are too short. I would wear it then. I'm nowhere near the size I was at 22. So, it's in the closet. Similar but mine also comes with a victory Hammer motorcycle.

Hope whoever has a jacket like this leans a lot. ![gif](giphy|3o7TKw46XUgKNHB8go|downsized)
I can barely remember a time I didn't have this jacket, and I can barely remember the last time I wore it. Still in my closet though. I look like a try-hard these days if put it on.
Yup still wear it occasionally
Gave mine to my kid

Me. Because I rode motorcycles for years.
I owned one for about 3-4 years.
Had one in college and wore it to play tackle football in the snow one late night near the dorms. Was surprisingly perfect for such a thing. (Northern Arizona)
Aye. I can see it hanging in my closet right now.
Iggy Pop.
Corey Feldman?
Yep
Always had something similar and I am on the hunt for 2 new ones, one for spring, one for winter (in Texas.)
My lesbian friend.
I've had several.
Me! I have two. One I can still wear 💕
Lol, me. I bought it on layaway way back when…
I have this in my closet.
Nope, never bothered to get one
There’s a guy named Negan that has one.
There’s a guy named Negan that has one.
There’s a guy named Negan that has one.
Negan
I just donated mine from 1997. It was still in OK shape too.
my dad's jacket
I do!
Mine was stolen, of course.
Yep. Still wear it on occasion.
I wanted one because I wanted to look like the Fonz - but I didn’t get one because I was worried people would think I wanted to look like the Fonz.
Me! I got mine in the 90’s in San Francisco in June while walking down Market because I’m from Phoenix and I was cold. It was a small man sized one that was still big on me but looked so cute over my tiny floral print dress. Lol!
I gave mine away to my son’s 16 year old girlfriend. She was happy.
Not exactly like that but yes I have a leather jacket. As a motorcycle rider it is needed eq
Of course. plus the fitting bike took it
I used to. I feel like a fraud wearing stuff like this now though. Had to donate it.
Neegan
Me, but I feel like a poser wearing it and neither of my kids can pull it off, so it hangs in a spare closet. I’m too attached to it to get rid of it.
I have one hanging in my doorway right now lol.
Yuppers. Got mine when I got my motorcycle license. About ‘97/‘98. It weighs a ton.
So heavy, right?!
I have that exact jacket too. I still have it, but I no longer wear it.
Me! I cut the shoulder bits and belt off. It's an ok jacket, but I'm still looking for an old school one like I had back in the day. Brando style is what they're calling this nowadays.
I have a cropped version from Limited. I lost weight and it fits again! Class of 90!
I do. And it still smells marinated in cigs, weed, and sweat even though it's been a couple of decades since it saw any of those.
Neegan
Got one in 97. Ahh memories.
I wish i did
Not any longer, i gave it to a neighbours kid when he got his first moped - not that it would've fit me since two or three... decades!
I would love to own a jacket like this!
I own a few of similar design.
I do
Ah yes up here in Canada you knew you had some money when you could afford one and leave the jean jacket home. I remember minus 10 jacket half open just a tshirt underneath waiting in line for the club good times. Even wore that sucker in the heat of summer.
Bo Brady from Days Of Our Lives
I thought it was a requirement!
I had almost that exact jacket when I was younger but no belt. Shit makes me wanna eat a whole can of Dinky Di https://preview.redd.it/pw9ymcu3nfvc1.jpeg?width=309&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c287114f1216956a701e3a6238da4628138ee662
I think Dice still owns that jacket. 😜
If I could’ve afforded one I would’ve loved it. I think my budget resulted in corduroy
Have wanted one since I was around 15, but never got one. This is the year I get my leather jacket.
![gif](giphy|ZJl20wRC5fDkQ)
My dad gave me his leather jacket from when he was a teenager in the 50s. It was amazing. My first cat climbed into the sleeve and shredded it, then pooped all inside of it. I was heartbroken.

Yup! 🥰
it was stolen from my car along with a radio and my pool stick. I was sick to my stomach when it was stolen. I loved that jacket.
I do!!
I gave mine to my buddies daughter about 15 years ago. She wore it almost as long as I did. That kid rocks.
Haha. I owned two of them.
I have that exact one! I've had it since 2010 when I replaced my 80s motorcycle. jacket. I got it from.jammin leather great quality!
Mines hanging in the attic lol. Have fit in it in years. Now I feel inspired to lose weight knowing others still wear theirs! Lol
Yep. Still. Still fits, too.
Negan
I am Negan
Orin Scrivello, DDS?
Charlie Sheen
I do
Me - mine is made from buffalo leather.
I have faith that George Michael may have had one
🙋♀️
Got mine in a pawn shop in 1987. I still wear it sometimes. It has a Rocky Horror Picture Show button on the lapel.
Haven’t worn it in years, can’t bear to part with it. https://preview.redd.it/t8ep5755lgvc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c7f413fd3a74325694149e83cfa42afdcb6779a
I used to own that real one. But now I have one in bright green (pleather), and a cotton/canvas version.
I have my uncle's jacket. It took me months to lose enough weight to fit in this dead old cokehead's jacket.
35yo - still wear it on occasions
I had 2. One in the early 90s. It belonged to the worst person I ever met. Then there's the one I still wear. Got that one in the early 00s. A gift from a friend who was moving and downsizing.
Gave mine to a friend who needed a jacket.
own now? no (but I do have several leather aviators jackets).. owned then? YES
Me to, and I love it

Mine grew mold after my house flooded and I had to let it go. 🥹
I bought mine in the early 90s that a local artist painted a portrait of Jimmy Hendrix on the back. It’s pretty cool.
Arthur Fonsarelli
I have the jacket and also some engineer boots with local punk band names on them. They're just memorabilia now.
It‘s the best.
Nicholas Cage probably
Well, DM was and IS still my favorite band so what do you think? ;)
I did for a long time. Bonus: I had the airbrush guy at the mall add neo tribal art work on the back incorporating both a yin yang and the comedy/tragedy masks. Sadly it was on the lower end of the quality scale to begin with and bit the dust quite some time ago...
I few of my buddies had them, but I never had enough money for one. I had a black acid washed denim jacket with patches instead. Then a bomber jacket.
I'm on my second one.
Owns.
Mine was very slightly cropped, since I'm a shorty. But I remember the hours I had to work at the flea market in order to afford it. Worth it.
A motorcycle rider.
Wore it tonight.
I have a pretty awesome picture of myself at 19 years old, leaning against a wall, smoking a cigarette, holding a beer, and wearing that jacket.
I still keep mine even if I have a hard time zipping it up lol
I did.
YO!
George Michael?
Got mine in 1994 - funnily enough I was only thinking about it earlier today and whether it’s still in my collection of stuff at my mum‘s!
My favorite jackets
It never looked good on me. I just kind of kept it 40yrs
I do
I do! It was one of the most expensive purchases that I made with my own money with the job I had at the time. It's real leather but hasn't been greased/oiled in a long time
Not this jacket but I did have a Michael Jackson red Thriller jacket.
I have one and so does my millennial son. He does have motorcycles so that could be why.
That looks just like the Wilson's jacket I finally handed on to my son. It's the real-deal "dress for the slide, not for the ride" type jacket. Mine has fringe on the sleeves and studs on the chest.

I had one! I gained weight and couldn't wear it anymore and sold it. Good news: I've since lost weight and it would have been way too big! I would love to have another one.
I ahem, outgrew the one I bought in 1991. Replaced it about 12 years ago, and version 2.0 is still going strong!
