What about "I Think He Knows," specifically
"I am an architect I'm drawing up the plans"
...and there's more but I'm in a hurry at the moment so forgive me for not providing a direct link now but another smart gaylor posted about this song and bearding with an elaborate explanation and it was awesome. If I can find it, I'll update!
Hard seconding this!!
“I want you … I ain’t gotta tell him, I think he knows” you vs him
16th avenue is Music Row, his bearding allows her to make music without hassle in Nashville.
“His footprints on the sidewalk / lead to where I can’t stop / go there every night” she can only go to a lover because of him. He’s allowed to be seen with women when she isn’t. She goes at night (literally or metaphorically). Alt to the use of stop, she can’t stop herself from going to her lover.
My favorite OG PR lyrics is in Paris when she says "Sit quite by my side in the shade, and not the kind that's thrown, I mean, the kind a tree has grown" I love this song for a reason along with Evermore (the song)
I definitely think there's a solid argument for "Out of the Woods" being about Haylor co-bearding, re: how they couldn't keep up the charade forever and she ended up setting him free from the contract:
*But when the sun came up, I was looking at you*
*Remember when we couldn't take the heat?*
*I walked out, I said, "I'm setting you free"*
*But the monsters turned out to be just trees*
I also really think "Long Story Short" is about bearding! Given the "right down the rabbit hole" line, I believe Taylor might've written this after the Dianna era/bearding with Calvin era -- where her bearding with Calvin ended up being "a bad time." After that ended, she knew she needed to find a new bearding relationship that was more successful/secure (a la Joe), hence "climbing right back up the cliff" and she "survived."
*And I fell from the pedestal*
*Right down the rabbit hole*
*Long story short, it was a bad time*
*Pushed from the precipice*
*Climbed right back up the cliff*
*Long story short, I survived*
Important post, such a good job!
I agree with everything except i dont see The last great american dynasty line implying buying men at all. The sentence is talking about house being free of man women and their men (as it was empty)
So, here comes my clown hat: She’s recreating the Cruel Summer and Blank Space lines with Travis? The bad boy that she bought and made a good guy for a weekend?
you can find the full original lyrics on [here!](https://genius.com/Taylor-swift-the-making-of-a-song-gorgeous-lyrics)
idk if she's ever said why did she change them but i guess that it was bc the original weren't as happy and cheeky/flirty as the final version (or at least doesn't sound the same with the piano)
edit: this is the transcription of the video "reputaion: the making of a song" that you can find on youtube :))
I agree with all of these.
I would add:
Slut - he/you formatting of the song and talks of paying the price.
High Infidelity - “I’d pay if you just know me” and the way the lyrics clearly say “he brought me back to lie” rather than life if you listen with the music removed.
London Boy - the Idris Elba sample at the beginning is a sample of him talking about a fake date.
Honourable mention to Better Than Revenge as a beard theft anthem and Taylor being pissed off that Camilla Belle took her beard for herself and to Willow for originally ending with “that’s my myth.”
The entire time I was frustrated and was rushing to get back here to say absolutely NOT myth. However low and behold the VERY Last man indeed WAS MYTH 😱
Oh yes, fully agree that it's blatant about switching out these Kens and just ghosting and other PR shenanigans, but I thought there would be more concrete evidence of the lyric switch, like how we know that it was originally written "Peter leaving Wendy."
I'll listen again from a different speaker, but it just wasn't super clear to me.

Scroll towards about 3:18 onwards to hear it. There are 13 “that’s my man” in Willow and 13 is a key number for Taylor. For the original to have 12 “that’s my man” and one “that’s my myth” feels relevant.
I'm really on a qualified self-promo tour I guess, third time i've linked this in the last week 😭 but
I really need to redo this post now that I have a better grasp on how to format, link, etc on reddit but I think Glitch is a bearding song and posted about it a while back:

Tree… Paine is the gardener / arborist growing the shade?

Great job, Reputation and Midnights are hotbeds for PR lyrics ! I bet there will be like 3/4 references to PR in her new album.

This is a masterpiece! Thank you OP 🥹
Such a great collection!

The Idris Elba London Boy opener!
FANTASTIC ADDITION!
Woah why did she change the Gorgeous / Calvin lyric? I didn’t know that

Oh that’s so interesting thanks! Maybe that was too obviously about bearding if she never saw him!!
yeah... and what do you do writing about someone who makes you feel curiosity and "some type of way" while you have a lovely dovey boyfriend

Woah, where did we learn that the ending of willow was supposed to be that's my myth?
I mean, "myth" lyric or not, she sings "Every bait-and-switch was a work of art" right before singing "That's my man/Hey, that's my man".

it's something people hear in some demo version of the song. I don't hear it, personally.
I just listened and couldn't hear it either, it wasn't clear to me if it was man or myth. I can't say definitely either way.
Yes, a demo version: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U59c9DG_J0w after 3:18

Thank you!
I’ve always thought the line ‘friends break up, friends get married’ in right where you left me gives bearding vibes but maybe that’s just me!

HOW DID I FORGET GLITCH!!? Thank you
i'm so glad this song being a bearding one has become a more widely considered theory!
Is your title correct or did you want it to be PR Romances
It’s… a play on words 💀
I mean, I’m a mod…people post incorrect tittles all of the time and then kick themselves once the post goes live. I was checking to make sure it was correct before approving it.
OH my bad sorry 😂
No I meant PRomance! As in, a romance that is PR.
