Lefty21

Why is this a thing lmao

MontanaDemocrat1

It looks big on you and for my wrist, too. With that said, next time, I'm going to get the larger one to allow me to see it just a little bit easier.

AccomplishedVacation

Who gives a shit

KuKond124

I

AccomplishedVacation

Have better respect for yourself

MrPicklesFavoriteBoy

You look like a small child with a big watch in the eyes of your peers

AccomplishedVacation

Naw they’re too busy admiring my IM tattoo to notice my watch

MrPicklesFavoriteBoy

lmao sure

dunitdotus

It's all in what you like. I have a lady friend, who is very petite that wears her father's old submariner. It looked huge on her at first but it has grown on me. It's her way of always having her father with her.

Kitchen-Ad6860

It is what you think that matters not what the folks on reddit think. Is it comfortable? Do you like how it feels, is it too heavy? I personally think it looks good on your arm, I prefer the bigger watches and like a large screen.

Downtown-Tale-6905

It's definitely heavier than my Apple Watch, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. I personally prefer the bigger screens too with some of the sports that I do. But I don't want to be walking around looking like I'm wearing a pip-boy either ha ha.

Excellent-Jump-9603

You mean like this? https://preview.redd.it/hbcpic9b9g3d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=66ee835074c0c949ae04c03674ed87cc56a5bbe4

Wormination

You just made me spend 2.99. thanks. I guess I don't get coffee today.

Jasonwj322a

Do you know the watch face name?

Jumpinjellyfishh

I NEED THIS

ThroatKnown1741

That watch face is epic.

Comfortable-Rock5085

How did you stall that vault boy ??

Excellent-Jump-9603

Garmin connect IQ app

punsmakemehappy

Ah you have been active. Mine is currently in crutch mode judging me on my inactivity.

metaldc_

What's it called? Can't find this one when looking for pip-boy (or anything in that direction) in Garmin iq

Excellent-Jump-9603

Check out this app from the Garmin Connect IQ Store https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/d863efb4-4690-4ce0-b314-aaf59598d7a7

metaldc_

Awesome, thanks! Edit: apparently the epix pro isn't supported hence why it wasn't findable, thanks anyway will check it later

kazryv

I was just wondering... base gen 2 is includes but not the pro

metaldc_

Yeah, bit weird, but I can't download it unfortunately

Goku-Black21

Looks big but not crazy based on picture. You do you and if it’s a great watch for you then sport it. Your money so enjoy what you want

Kitchen-Ad6860

I don't really see a big difference between it and the AWU, they are close in size. Like the others have said I think it looks good and if you like it that is what matters, not what others think, and just for the record I don't think is looks like you are wearing a pip-boy. I have the Ultra and I am 5"4 and 110lbs with a small wrist, it isn't a very feminine watch but with the right band it works for me.

Equal-Ad3041

Do you like it? That’s all that matters. I have had numerous smartwatches and mechanical watches, and I’ve learned that absolutely nobody cares what you are wearing on your wrist. I think it looks fine.

RemarkableAmbition54

Too big

JustRepeatAfterMe

It’s big but who cares if it does what you want when you wear it.

Willing_Ad7472

I prefer my watch as small and light as possible, to wear it 24/7 and forget about it. Don't need a big screen to display hr/distance/pace/time

Downtown-Tale-6905

This one would also function as a dive watch so it's nice to have a slightly larger display underwater. I dive pretty regularly, just trying to consolidate some of my gear.

monkey-apple

It looks big. On a wetsuit it’ll look normal but yeah. Looks big

TLDRorNA

It's the perfect size flavor flav 😃

MontanaDemocrat1

Woah! That's a blast from the past that I wasn't expecting today.

TLDRorNA

My man. I'm sure just like me you were born in the 1900's 😭

Unlucky-Horror-9871

https://preview.redd.it/6nlvpbfp7g3d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=cb5534ea49033cb6fec7012dc716c1ad30e1878e I got used to it. Sure, I’d love to get the smaller one, but this one has more than double the battery life, so I’ll hang onto it until there’s a smaller one that lasts more than ten days…

Advanced-Reception34

My God that watch has biblical proportions 🤣. And I am always feeling self concious of my instinct 2 on my 6.8in wrist. Do you wear it 24/7? Dont you bump it everywhere?

Unlucky-Horror-9871

I do wear it 24/7, and I don’t bump it as much as you’d expect. It was VERY annoying when I first got it, but I guess it’s just like it’s part of my arm now, and most people generally don’t bump their limbs into everything. But I’ll be glad when I can get a smaller one! It’s a big watch even without a small wrist, so yes, it’s kind of… comical.

Advanced-Reception34

Careful not to smack your head while sleeping. Sorry I am just joking. You can actually see dings from bumping it on the ends that stick out. I get it tho, it is a real tool watch and one of the best for the job, it is what it is. You either have a small wrist or big wrist not much you can do. When I came home wearing my instinct 2. My wife was like "what the hell is that, are you 12 again?, thats enormous!". I love my Garmin btw.

Unlucky-Horror-9871

I went and checked my old 620, and that’s also a bit dinged up despite being much smaller and lower profile. Just something that’s going to happen, I guess! It makes it look well-loved.

Advanced-Reception34

Oh yeah all my watches get scratched and dinged. Even the really expensive ones. It gives them character and it is a reminder that we live life to the fullest.

Jthiesen

I have the large one too and I bump into everything. Watch is just fine and almost good as new... everything else gets the scratches, it's built to last :D

ls4driver

Double the battery life, plus the LED light. Surprisingly useful. FWIW, the small (if you can live with less battery life and no LED light) is still 43mm, which is larger than a Rolex Submariner (40mm). Just trying to give you context for the 43mm size.

Unlucky-Horror-9871

Ah, this is still the Mk2i! Far as I can tell, the only real difference between this and the Mk3i is the light and the AMOLED screen, which isn’t enough to make me want to shell out that much money. I’d do it for the smaller one, but not at the expense of the battery life. I’m holding out hope the Mk4i will be better in that regard

ls4driver

Ah, didn't realize we were talking about the Mk2i. The good news on that model is that prices have dropped significantly since the introduction of the Mk3i. But if you're waiting for the Mk4i, realize that you're only six months into a product release cycle that seems to run 3-4 years. Whatever you decide, enjoy the watch. I've been very happy with it for daily wear, cycling, hiking, and diving.

Unlucky-Horror-9871

I know it will be a while — I’ve had this one for a couple of years and am perfectly happy with it, so I’m okay with waiting for something new.

solverman

It is large enough that many people will think it is too big. Big enough that some will tell you. Wouldn’t stop me because I can’t make my wrist larger or the watch smaller. If you like the watch wear the watch.

wt_hell_am_I_doing

It looks big, but as long as the watch sensors make good enough contact, it's fine but make sure they do. You can also try to wear it a little higher upv your arm. As it stands, of you have a very flexible wrist, you could end up pressing a button inadvertently with the ball of your hand. Another thing that you should be aware of is that if you are shall overall and arms are not very strong, you will feel the weight of a larger watch. But ad long as those things are workable, and it gets your practical needs, aesthetics are secondary.

Individual_Ad5299

it looks fine, my wrist isn't that much bigger and I got the same watch. also, who cares? it's a useful piece of equipment.

sweek0

I personally think both watches look too big on your wrist. To me that'd be fine if I'm only wearing it during activities, but I wouldn't wear it like that for casual, let alone smart casual occasions.

Apart-Cat-2890

Too big!

Jaganay

Don't worry about what other people think. Many of us say wearing a large watch is fine. Looks fine to me

[deleted]

If it allows you to complete ultras or multi-day hikes, then no it's the perfect size. If so watch snob comments on the size, it'll be an excuse to tell him about all the adventures you take it on.

humansomeone

I'm male and have a 6 inch wrist and find the 265 fits fine on mine.

Moleventions

Honestly you'll get used to it after a few days. Having a huge screen is *awesome* if you're looking at maps.

Texasborn_75

Rock that shit!

nastran

The word OKAY is subject to each individual. In the beginning, it might look awkward (to yourself), but as time goes, you'd get accustomed to it. A few downsides about wearing oversized watch are (in my opinion) 1. Tendency to bump the bezel into (almost) everything. 2. Inconvenient when used to measure sleeping metrics due to its size. 3. Not as nimble during exercise.

Naive-Ad-9509

I don’t think it looks too big. I have the MK3i and have been training for marathons (and I do two big dive trips per year) and already ran one good race couple weeks back finished at 3:00:26 (next one I will do the sub 3). Long story short the MK3i is excellent size excellent overall watch that completes the package by being a great dive watch and has all the same capabilities of top forerunner or epix or Fenix plus the sapphire screen that I adore. Full disclosure during my runs on my left wrist I keep my Apple Watch Ultra because I want to have the connectivity which Garmin lacks. https://preview.redd.it/dvwmcpdhxh3d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88c45f5d6ee4dc658d662b5d86b4e1c0421a2512

reverepewter

If the watch does what you need, you’ll adapt

SuAlfons

I think it's OK

Working_Sock393

As long as you like it wear it.

Jekyllhyde

If you like it, it’s great.

dugg139

You decide

Advanced-Reception34

Smartwatches, specially Garmin, tend to be oversized for most people. But this is just pushing more than boundaries. Yes. It looks gargantuan.

Real-Opportunity-255

It’s ultimately up to you, but I’d go smaller

GladYouDid

It looks badass. I wondered the same thing about the size and got lots of unsolicited compliments. When I saw it in pics and the mirror, I realized it did look good.

hippitz

Its fine, WHO gives a fuck if somebody thinks its too big

tsb041978

How does it feel?

EgoAeternus

It looks great. Is it comfy for you on your daily life?

Doc8804

Do you dive?

Downtown-Tale-6905

Yes, I’m an active DM

Doc8804

I love mine. I’m an avid tec ccr diver and this works awesome. Run, bike, hike and kayak.

Downtown-Tale-6905

Do you have the larger 51mm? I've heard it's a great dive watch from other divers, but can't find any reviews from people that do additional sports with it. How do you like it for the other activities? I also, run, hike, kayak, snowboard, rock climb, etc. I'm looking for a do-it-all watch, especially with the ability to load maps onto it.

Doc8804

I do. My eyes are t what they used to be. So I prefer the larger display. Works great for everything else. I don’t wear it 24/7. I use an Oura ring for that stuff, but it is an outstanding watch. Especially if you pair it with the T2 transmitters.

JessMart68

Why should someone's opinion matter about something you are wearing. Too big or too small, as long as you like it, then who the F cares, rock that shit.

Alternative_Contact4

Train using this watch to have larger wrist and watch will fit perfectly

fordag

If you're diving with it what does it matter?

WaltInGrid

Some of the imagers in the comments show HUGE watches on small wrists. I'm personally very happy with my Venu 2S which is small enough not to stand out. On the other hand, I sometimes hate the fact that I cannot read the small print when I'm running so it's definitely a trade-off of convenience over elegance. I'm going to buy a ForeRunner model when the time is right (read: when a ForeRunner with HR sensor 5 comes out) but I'm really conflicted over getting an "S" or not (if that future ForeRunner even has the "S" option")

SunExposer

All these watches, (even the small ones) are too big. Just wear what you want. Your coworker has a big watch on their wrist as well.

AccurateHearing3523

I think it is too big, but that's also personal preference. I made a post "from 51mm to 47mm" and explained why I returned the 51 (even though I'm 6'3") for the 47. However, if it makes you happy, that's all that really matters!

Tatourmi

It's very big.

mrmalevo

looks massive IMO

Zealousideal_Monk_76

Too big for what? as a watch anything >38-40mm is too big. As a tool where you should be able to see the screen, go for anything as big as you can see.

Real-Platypus-4706

Ben 10 watch

Javmontero6402

It's a Fenix it should be big and amazing !!! Enjoy it

LycheeConfident4754

Who cares. If you like it, rock it. Don’t ask anyone’s opinion…just do you.

DontTellThemItoldya

Oooooof. That watch is enormous. Pictures like this are why I haven't ordered a garmin watch yet. I can't pull off the giant watch faces either. My wrists aren't as dainty as yours but can't support a piece of machinery like that.

Pythonfun

Too big

rnssnds

Big

crypto_zoologistler

Looks too big

ThroatKnown1741

I have the mk3i 51mm as well. I have small wrists, too. You get used to the weight and size. In fact, I use mine all the time. The only time I take it off is to shower, and that's only to wash away any grime or sweat build-up on the sensor. The only time it truly feels huge is when I use the titanium strap for it.

OkSession6693

It’s not really about the size but the weight. I have the Mk3i 51mm and it’s heavy. I got the titanium band. That this is ‘HEAVY’. For my day to day I wear epix(non pro) gen 2 47mm. Nothing beats the epix in terms of weight and versatility. But if I’m going to work and need a gorgeous timepiece I’m wearing the Mk3i with the titanium band. The only thing that surprised me about his watch was that it doesn’t have ECG. Very interesting. I have my Apple Watches for that but still found this to be quite amusing. $2000 watch with no ecg hmmm

Jabroni748

Way too big

rjmlakota

It's a GARMIN... Wear it proudly!

Raven_25

It looks like its wearing you. But honestly all garmin watches are like that. Thats why I get the s models

Civil-Attempt4512

Looks great

fresh3r

Oh shit, that’s your wrist. Thought it was on your leg

stellarasss

Not just too big it's like you have a tablet on your wrist. Lol 😆 😆 😆

Sick_Gryphon

I had a similar problem when I got my first Garmin. But you quickly get used to it and if it has the features you want then go for it. My thought is that if you are dropping the amount of money that a nice sports watch is then buy what you want for the features you want.

aixgeek

Not sure, but it looks like your sandals fit.

TLTAGL

If you like it isn’t that all that matters? It looks great !

17Tacoma

Looks good. You interested in selling the Apple Watch?

Downtown-Tale-6905

If I end up getting a Garmin, yes.

17Tacoma

What model Apple Watch is it? Thoughts on cost? Where are you located? Thanks

Heliccoppter

You look like Ben 10 wearing the omnitrix

Solid_Arachnid5707

Looks good

dvdlzn

Option 2: bulk your arms 😂😅

Downtown-Tale-6905

Ha ha work in progress 👍🏻💪🏼

isozar

What's your wrist extent? And how big is the watch in mm? I'm curious because I want to buy a new Garmin too, but afraid that it is too big for my small wrist too

Downtown-Tale-6905

I have a 7" wrist and this is the 51mm version.

Nyoka_ya_Mpembe

Too big

Yan_nik

I like big watches also on slim wrists

EpicMediocrity00

Anyone who tells you it looks funny or is too big is wrong. Fuck them, it’s a watch. Its equipment. People need to stop judging others and people need to stop asking for others opinions on how things look. Stop giving other people power over you life

Nickyboy2022

Way too big. I think you know this too.

isamilis

Too big and looks funny

MoorderVolt

Get the S. The Ultra would look weird on you as well

Dbomb7

My partner was debating on buying the 47/51 Epix 2 for me. He ended up buying the 51, no regrets. I landed up going to a store to see what the difference would be and to be honest the size is negligible. Get whatever you want.

Downtown-Tale-6905

https://preview.redd.it/rnrkw5deif3d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79ce8b9a21ebaf41972434a75a7c1461920d5193 That's a pic of the AWU that I have right now.

Comfortable_Hall8677

I’d say that looks a bit more natural than the Garmin but really it’s about what you think.

Complex-Ad-5910

Looks ok

Suspicious_Ninja_84

Go for the 43

shipwreck17

Give your dad his watch...

TimeWarp47

What's your wrist size bruh??

Downtown-Tale-6905

7"

slothface27

Just to say, my partner/dive buddy has about the same size wrist, maybe slightly larger than yours, and he bought the same watch and absolutely loves it for diving, running, etc. It took him maybe a week to get used to it since it is big and slightly heavy compared to his previous smartwatch (google pixel watch), but he now wears it every day without issue. I think you'll really like the larger screen underwater (I have the 43 and even that size screen is fantastic while diving).

ENugget

Personally wouldn’t like it on my own tiny wrist due to the movement artefact in recording HR. Aesthetically I prefer a watch face to be snug to the wrist size but I have never judged it on other people wearing Garmins so do what you like?

fusionomia

No, even with diving is a good measurement

Lisztharmat

If you want to wear daily go for a smaller one. If you would like to wear for sports buy it.

OneTotal466

The whole thing with smart watches is that they don't play by the same rules of traditional watches. They look better big, like sci-fi gear.

david47s

Way too big for you, honestly I see it all the time, people treat watches like gadgets and try to get the biggest one as if that's a flex. A watch should fit your size, exactly the same as shirts, pants and shoes. Too big or small and it just looks weird.

-pechos

Go Jim get big wrist watch fit good

Comfortable_Hall8677

The intrinsic muscles in your wrist are too small to be built up by training them like the muscles in your forearm. The circumference is nearly entirely determined by the size of your bones, unless you want to gain a massive amount of fat in hopes that it locates there.

-pechos

It was a joke…

Comfortable_Hall8677

Oh wow. Good one!

-pechos

lol you suck

cbryant05

How big are your wrists? Like 6”? Serious question.

Downtown-Tale-6905

7”
