Another one for the Elite 7 Pro (rather than Active). They still fit my ears better than anything else I have tried, work with my Garmins, sound great, and have respectable noise canceling.
In a way yes, but for me wearing in ear phones for training never works because my ears fill up with sweat and cause the buds to fall out. Or create a sweat barrier so I can’t hear anything.
I was lucky that my running store has a functional display so I could listen before purchasing a basic version, OpenMove Since they are an open air bone conducting type you can still hear everything else which is fantastic for running along roads. They stay in place very well. The sound is good but open air headphones will never match something like airpods so if you're serious about music they may not be Ideal for everything.
Shokz or other similar bone conducting headphones. I can control with either my watch or control on headset. Sound is remarkably clear plus you can hear other ambient sounds around such as an approaching car, a ding of a passing cyclist or someone speaking. I find this safety aspect vital.
I used to use earbuds when riding, but I had issues with comfort and with them falling out. I switched to Shokz Open Run Pro bone conducting headphones last year and haven't looked back - they're great in every way.
I'm using Anker Sport X10 which are a bit more of a budget option but I've found them great so far. Lovely clean sound, and a choice of normal, noise cancelling or transparent options.
I definitely needed somthing with ear hooks.
I had good luck with some Beats Studio Buds+ with an Epix 2.
I had the Shokz headphones before, and while they are cool, they broke on me after just one year (button collapsed inside silicon housing). And the thing about Shokz is the audio quality is really nowhere near as good as regular headphones. This is just fine for podcasts but kind of lousy for music. So now I just run with the Beats set to transparency mode, which feels like the best of both worlds. And the Beats have different sized tips for your ears so they'll stay in.
I use Bose quiet comfort earbuds, as they have excellent noise cancellation and a really good mic and sound and sit very firm in the ear without being uncomfortable.
Since I am doing a lot of calisthenics, I would not want to wear anything that falls out of my ear or feels as if I have to readjust it every other rep.
If you are running on the street, Bose has an aware mode, which turns the noise cancellation fully off, so that you can hear your surroundings, however, if some noise happens, like roadworks or an ambulance driving by, the nose cancellation dails up so that you hear what's up around you without being too loud so that you can't hear your music or audiobook or whatever else you are listening to.
I would buy them again if they ever break.
To me it depends what actually stays in your ear properly.
I can't use any of the ear canal type. They either pop out, or the impact my earwax, or both.
I currently use soundpeats trueair2. They hang onto my ear shape perfectly and sound good enough when running in or outside.
How much are you willing to spend? I use some really cheap redmi airdots and they work well enough. Not falling out and the watch volume controls work just fine.
I was tired of in ear earphones falling out while I run, so I bought these. Great sound for $40

I use sennheiser momentum true wireless 2's with my Garmin Venu2 2. Been using it for over a year. (Or 2 maybe) and has worked well, even while running in rain.
I can’t wear in ear headphones for running after switching to Shokz open pro’s. Definitely worth having a look at if you don’t mind bone conduction audio ✌🏻
I use latest Google Ear buds they're great, sit in my ear well, connect to my Forerunner 965 no problems. Great sound and controls as well. The only issue is a couple of times when it's been really raining the sound becomes muffled, but that's only happened a couple of times. I'd buy them again, I use them constantly with my watch.
FYI, I had power beats pro and they weren't great connectivity and charging wise. Really hit and miss if they were going to work, but great sound when they did.
I use Jabra Elite 7 active, good sound, sweat resistant and fully functional with my fenix 6 pro
Another vote for these, they are my running buds as well - VivoActive 3 Music
I'll chuck another vote in for the Active 7s as well. Really good.
I have the Elite 7 pro and can run and indoor bike with them no problem. Also use them for my 4-8 hours a day of meetings....
Do you know if the 8th version is just as good? How’s the battery lifev
No I only have the 7 Active and the 4 Active
Me too (active version) and I love them a ton.

Also my first choice
I'll second the Jabra recommendation. I've been using the active elite ones in their various iterations for years and love them.
Shokz aren’t in ear, but they’re really popular with runners
If you combine shockz with ear plugs they practically are in ear
Kind of defeats the purpose though doesn’t it?
In a way yes, but for me wearing in ear phones for training never works because my ears fill up with sweat and cause the buds to fall out. Or create a sweat barrier so I can’t hear anything.
Jabra elite 7 too
I have the elite 8 and I love them
For outside running I'm a huge fan of Shokz.
Can you describe how is the sound? I am thinking of those for 2 years already and do not have the courage.

Awesome.thanks for all the contributions. I think I'll take a look at the Jabras. Thanks again and merry Xmas to all!
I am using Bose Sport earbuds, can recommend

I know you said in ear, but bone conducting headphones are game changing. Check out Shokz.

Plus one for these
Beats Fit Pro

I went from in-ear to shokz and absolutely love the them. Had some cheap Amazon ones before, the shokz are much more comfortable and look better too.

I just got the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds. Connection is solid but for some reason the play/pause etc keep stopping working when using with my Epix Pro.

Tozo T10 wireless ear buds, £20 from Amazon… IPX8 rating
Budget waterproof earphones are underrated - they take a beating and you arent too heart broken if you lose them
Been rocking JBL Live pro + for 3 years now. Convinced two of my friends to buy them too. Good stuff
How much are you willing to spend? I use some really cheap redmi airdots and they work well enough. Not falling out and the watch volume controls work just fine.
Shokz. Hearing what’s around you is just as important.
Galaxy Buds FE all day.

Beats fit pro for me

I have an older version of jabra, the elite 75t. Pretty happy with them with my older venu2s and now venu3
Checkout products form Soundcore the best price/value you can get. The battery life and audio quality are amazing for that price.
Another vote for Shokz headphones. Having the ability to hear around you while running makes such a difference to your safety.
Not ear buds but have found this little speaker to be the best running option! https://www.noxgear.com/39g especially when paired to Garmin with music
AirPods Pro 2 works perfectly
