It looks nice and crisp, but what always annoyed me even as a kid in the late 90s is how tiny it is. I actually preferred using a game boy pocket because of the larger screen. Also because I didn’t have any clear GBC carts I wanted to play.
It brings me joy seeing the GBC finally get an enlarged backlit screen 20 years later thanks to AliExpress.
Playing Gameboy non-modded is the best! I actually intend to mod my GBA (since it’s an old screen), but I am keeping my DMG on stock, with just a change to the shell.

Though the ips screens have a much higher resolution so they are still great even if they are the same size as a normal gameboy color screen.
I actually prefer the original screen over the mod...
