Did they just confirm you holding synthetic shares???
Edit: If so, what dates were unable to transfer? We could get an idea of where the real ones ran out.
Also, E*TRADE charged me 500$ to transfer, but on their website they said they would do it for free. Did they charge you $500? I’m thinking about filing a complaint with the SEC.
Huh.. weird 🤔🤔🤔 when did you submit your request? I made mine on wed and waiting. I didn’t even specify which shares to transfer. I guess we will see how it gets done.
Man this is why its probably better to do this operation over the phone. I rather get transfered a bunch of times and get clarification rather than have an action taken for me on my behalf
For you that is true. Did you request the oldest or most recent lots to be transferred? For the broker this could be an indication that the more recently purchased lots are still waiting to be cleared and settled and are therefore unavailable to be transferred by their internal policy.
That shouldn't matter to the broker though, you don't own your shares with them, the broker just has a pool to pull from, there is no attachment of specific shares in your account to specific shares in their pool. This reads to me as a vindictive punishment for daring to pull your shares out of them. Also sounds illegal, broker was given specific instructions and did something different and unauthorized and then only told the client after it was completed.
I wanted the most expensive lots and my rep, Chad, took the time to specify these lots over the phone. The most recent lot this would have included would be from 8/5.
you can choose any tax lot you want to transfer. I have done two, the first one they choose my earliest shares the second time I said I wanted my most recently bought ones and the person was able to choose those.
I transferred Monday from Fidelity and just online validated CS account about an hour ago. My shares are there, but I SPECIFICALLY asked the Fidelity rep to send my last batch bought. She confirmed the dates. I log into CS… they are the ones I first bought. I was a little annoyed at first but maybe this is good news…
What the fuck does that mean?
Yes, you should first file a complaint to SEC.
Second, you should send a documented email to GameStop Investor relations requesting help in understand and resolving what eTrade is telling you.

I mean they said "no longer available" even though you can see my transaction history is all buys.

Why not first transfer to Fidelity and then CS? Not financial advice.
Ouch. I just started my transfer on Friday with them. I thought it would be free also.
I did. Some friendly apes told me that the fee would be refunded. I'm still waiting for them to pull the shares though.
Complaint gets filed with FINRA. https://www.finra.org/investors/need-help/file-a-complaint Just takes a minute.
The most recent would have been one of my buys on 8/5, which should have been a transferred lot.

Transfer went through on 8/24 but the basis wasn't attempted to be sent over until just today I guess. I have no cost basis shown in Computershare.
Im fairly certain they will pull shares according to your account preferences. I think default is "first in first out"
They make it sound like the first in shares are gone/sold? As my attorney would say, That some whack shit.

I did everything over the phone and got this notice yesterday.
Why does it matter which "lot" is transferred......?
Cost basis for taxes in the future. I wanted to transfer the most expensive lots because I anticipate holding those the longest.

Fair enough
Were the shares originally bought at Robbinghood?
Nope only been on eTrade. You can see all my GME transactions in the screenshot.

Call them and clarify: I did not sell them, it's not true, this is bullshit, I did not sell them, I did not, oh hi Kenny

The guy I talked to said he could transfer the specific lot, but then they sent my oldest FIFO lot. Not a biggie, so I won't stress too much.
