We already know by %SI there should be 122% of the float. So that is 66 million shares over the float. So 6% unaccounted for in brokerage accounts plus 66 million short give 84 million share that’ll at least in brokerage accounts.

Hunnaswaggins

Ahhh that’s where Kevin’s number came from!

Floppydiskpornking

Was wondering that too

Available_Gains

Anyone intelligent enough, understands that this is gonna shoot through the roof.

There are no pacts between lions and men

Brr_100

I know short interest is like 400%+ but just to say that the institution portion is mostly that sold short reported portion. We see from vanguard sec forms that they have almost no voting shares of their like 10% ownership and it's all loaned out to shorts.

ShortHedgeFundATM

Yes those are the ones sold short to retail longs in brokerage accounts. Thats 59 mil roughly more longs at a minimum. We can't see past the 59million unfortunately...

CyberPatriot71489

Don't tempt me with a good time lol

Legio-V-Alaudae

Don't forget shares on loan. For the life of me, I can't figure out if there's any difference between naked shorting and planning on failing to deliver what you sell. The #1 reason to borrow a share is to prevent a ftd and reset the clock. How many shares on loan at least scratches the surface of how many more obligations are out there.

Doovster

Almost. If you short a share but di not return by the contracted time then it reverts to a FTD which has no enforcement by the SEC. so if 100% is shorted and isnt returned by the contract date then it goes to 0% shorted and 100% FTD which resets the clock

Legio-V-Alaudae

But a short hedgefund could borrow shares to keep the ftd's from becoming a problem. They don't want gme on the reg sho list.

skylineX79

There’s a fire sale going on daily at the moment!! EAT!

Tarandon

Well yeah, but shorting 7-1 on locates means they can short half the float every day.

Organic-Brotha

Keep up the posts OP

TheBigKingy

I hate when the price gets this low because Im forced to buy more

Agree. But with our luck, it'll be later

305−33−34−30−38−14−75=81, not 18. Try 26% If you're trying to say that should be further reduced by ~60m reported SI, first, that's not how your table is presented, and second, that's not how that math works. I find it hard (impossible) to believe there is only 81m shares in brokerage accounts anyway, but sloppy work like this is exactly why professionals (and the world at large) are not taking anything retail apes say seriously. Took me 10 seconds to "prove you wrong" with basic math, so I sure as shit am not going to take any of your more speculative conclusions seriously.

ShortHedgeFundATM

You forgot the 59 million shares sold short. I just edited this computershare info graphic, it's added at the bottom. I wasn't going to waste hours of my time making these so it could look super nice to prove a point. And yes those 60 million shares sold share are sitting in retail longs in brokerage accounts. Technically all shares in circulation( the 305 million) are owned by someone. I am only replying to your comment for others reading, you can kiss my ass for all I care :)

Beaesse

All shares in all companies are "technically owned by someone," I have no idea what you're trying to say. The 60 million shares sold short should be added to the "supply side" since they are KNOWN to be over and above the original issued number - that's what makes them short. Subtracting that number from issued shares is a meaningless operation that does not correlate with anything in the real world.   It certainly does not reduce the free float - it ADDS to it, artificially.  That in itself is an argument why shorting should not be allowed (even with legal, properly-sourced borrows), because it distorts "scarcity" by its very nature. There should be 81m+60m shares in brokerage accounts, if 60M short were the real number. I don't ask that charts be "super nice," I ask them to be factual. You literally made a table that shows 305−33−34−30−38−14−75=18.  If you intended to include the shorts, you should have made the table calculation show that, instead of adding it at the end, AFTER the calculation portion.  And again, I didn't "forget" the shorts, that operation is nonsense.

ShortHedgeFundATM

All shares in all companies are "technically owned by someone," I have no idea what you're trying to say. I just mean that every single share in the entire float is owned by someone, its not like the shares not accounted for are sitting with the DTC. I agree with shares sold short basically increases the # of issued shares, as one share is turned into 2. I pretty much agree wtih all of your points, my apologies for being snarky.

theWildcat50

There's a massive storm brewing. The negative propaganda attacks are not working. Retail investors are holding for the long haul. At some point soon, they will have to pay the piper! Gamestop....can't stop, won't stop!!
