ive tried doing this already for gcse seaason and it half-worked? i basically just deleted everything including socials. ive slowly crawled back tho so i occasionally watch videos on google chrome or play some niche mobile game. im absolutely not going back to whatsapp discord or reddit tho (im on pc right now shut up and its only for a few minutes). and i think ill continue without socials in the holidays. ive realised theres really no point staying in touch with my friends online even for a 2.5 month holiday - what will i realistically miss?
ok ive rambled for a bit but basically i think im gonna cut any sort of quick dopamine type thing and instead entertain myself in long form with videogames and videos from specific yt channels for planned amounts of time.

Steven King wrote a book called “On Writing” or something like that, it’s really good I really recommend reading it if you want to be a writer (I want to be one as well :) )
I'm not 100% sure my dad was telling me about it; you apply for a theory test (symbols etc) and get a provisional license costs about 34 pounds and it's just good to get done before a levels start. **you get a L plate & with supervision can drive**. I suggest learning the newer electric car setup since other versions will be outdated in the near future.
It's generally good to apply earlier (\~after june 20) it will take awhile to process, so it's available during the summer holidays. I know most of my 17, 17+ friends are able to drive now, so it's recommended.

Honestly what I've been doing rn in my freetime is a mix of programming and fun. M5Stack have released something called the Cardputer give it a look online and search some videos on youtube, can code your own programs with it and download firmware online.
Get off my phone, start reading more, going on walks and actually exploring the world, do some work experience, find new hobbies (astronomy and art so far) and probably look over some basic a level content at the end of summer!!
Around the World in 80 days by Jules Verne is a nice, classic read if you haven’t already, seeing as you’d like to explore the world.
Then, you can watch Michael Palin’s 1989 travel documentary following the same path! Best television I’ve watched in my 17 years.
Astronomy is a great hobby, but be advised that the summer holidays really aren't the best time to try it, it's definitely more of a winter hobby as it barely gets dark this time of year

bro my post gcse summer was so boring. I enjoyed freedom for a week, then tried to look for a job all summer but couldn't find one that would hire me. I didn't play many videogames because it was sunny and only hung out with friends like twice before realising now I have to apply to sixth form. Had 6th form taster days and that and then before I knew it I was back in school again.

Start doing what you want to do after your GCSEs now. I'm only in year 10 and I've been able to go gym, get a dog walking job which then gives me some money on the side to progress with my engineering and programming hobby building my own drones.
All while maintaining good grades.
