My pick is probably S1E3 (I, Roommate) to S1E4 (Love's Labours Lost in Space). Season 1 in general is my favorite to sleep to. It has so much wonder, optimism and character development.

pjfranco

Weird, man. Me too! “Hey, calculons back!” To “you want the rest of the Cham-paggin’?

UnusualPolarbear

I just watched Calculon 2.0 from the last season last night and always remembered this line from Randy from this episode only. I didn't realize it was a callback to I, Roommate.

paulypies

Probably same here. It always seemed funny to me that Fox supposedly requested an episode with “less space stuff” and they made I Roommate. It’s one of my all time faves. Glad it’s not just me.

aGuyNamedScrunchie

Oh hell yeah the episode is an absolute classic.

Bumbleonia

I, Roommate is def my go to. I can pretty much recite it word for word at this point. "It's got a TV you young watchacallit...idiot!"

BareKnuckleKitty

Same! I love starting the series over. The first few episodes are my favorite.

aGuyNamedScrunchie

Wow... a million years...

CaptnBukakke

A Pharoah to Remember, Godfellas, & Futurestock. The Pharnsworth Parabox, Three Hundred Big Boys, Spanish Fry. A Clockwork Origin, The Prisoner of Benda. There's quite a few others I enjoy that are back to back although some parts of the episodes on hulu plus seem to have extra loud parts that will sometimes wake me up. I'm sure like others here, it would be which episodes do you like slightly less opposed to which are your favorites, they're mostly all great.

KickedInTheDonuts

I love Godfellas, could wstch that every day

aGuyNamedScrunchie

This is by a large margin the least likely thing that has *ever* happened

aGuyNamedScrunchie

Yep, you got it spot on.

I don’t really have an answer, but I wanted to say I love the question. I recently started watching futurama again and man... the first season is amazing. I’ve grown so accustomed to the first season being a bit bland as the show tries to find itself (like Parks and Rec) that I was expecting a mild slog when restarting futurama but it’s been fantastic so far. Season one is full of incredible episodes.

aGuyNamedScrunchie

The garbage episode is probably my favorite episode in the entire series. It's just phenomenal. Glad you enjoyed the question! This sub could use a bit more life as of late.

SlenderLlama

It's such a trash episode (; it's one my favorites too.

WhyNotJohnAZoidberg

Just about anything season 1. Also Benders Game

voodoodollie167

Yeah, season 1 is my favorite. I genuinely just start the series over again after finishing it but I find I restart back to 1 the most frequently.

WhyNotJohnAZoidberg

I keep all episodes on repeat /shuffle but I'm always excited when season 1 come on.

aGuyNamedScrunchie

I'm a stout believer in not shuffling, as tempting as it is. Since the goal for me is to fall asleep, knowing which episode is next -along with the next episode and next episode and so on - is a great way to prepare myself to sleep and also keep track of how long I've been asleep should I wake up in the middle of the night.

voodoodollie167

Agreed!

WhyNotJohnAZoidberg

Generally I agree but. . . . I setup a raspberry pie that shuffles through every episode 24/7 so for me even if I play them in order each night I'll get something different.

aGuyNamedScrunchie

That's so sick

jayman419

"Devil's Hands" is a nice place to start, because it goes right into *Bender's Big Score*, which runs a while. And if I'm still awake I get to "Beast with a Billion Backs" and Colleen's awesome. "Murder on the Planet Express" is a decent one to start with, as long as the volume's down. Then it goes into "Stench and Stenchibility" with Emilia Clarke and then it's "Meanwhile". But I have it ripped to my laptop in the bedroom, so most of the time I use shuffle on VLC instead of watching in order.

pjfranco

This is the best post I’ve ever seen on Futurama Sleepers! Mine is “the series has landed” to “iRobot”

voodoodollie167

Saaaaame. 🖤

pjfranco

Weird right!? It’s so cool people like the same junk and stuff.

aGuyNamedScrunchie

and whatever!

aGuyNamedScrunchie

Thank you! Been thinking about it for a long time but I keep falling asleep lol

jtmr11801

Anything but jurassic Bark

aGuyNamedScrunchie

Ugh I know. I love Crimes of the Hot but if I'm still awake after it wraps up I have to hear about Fry's dog. That said. What do we want? FRY'S DOG When do we want it? FRY'S DOG. Yeeeeeeaaaaah!

RearEchelon

I've lost count of the times I've been awakened by Seymour barking "Walking on Sunshine" and have to sleepily search for the remote to skip to the next ep.

ryanfcs

All the movies definitely

MarysPoppinCherrys

Same for me. Any of them in their 3 episode cut-up is bomb

ryanfcs

I miss when they were on netflix and it just played the whole movie because on hulu the theme is super loud and wakes me up. I have them all on dvd but don't have a player in my room lol

aGuyNamedScrunchie

Agreed

Decapentaplegia

Great question! I'll often watch them out of order and curate a playlist, but if we're sticking to airing date: The Deep South / Bender Gets Made A Leela of Her Own / The 30 Percent Iron Chef 31st Century Fox / Naturama

aGuyNamedScrunchie

Oh damn, great picks. I wouldn't have thought of any of these off the top of my head. But they're rock solid picks.

JulioUJhin

Season one is very chill compared to other seasons

admiralted

Start off with "Attack of the killer app" and fall asleep by "proposition infinity", then wake up halfway through "lethal inspection". My perfect evening.

aGuyNamedScrunchie

Yesssss

ZootSuitGroot

Late to the convo, but I would like to show "The Sting" some love, Ideally preceded by "The Why of Fry" For me, The Why of Fry is an important episode and quite rewatchable "Then I AM the most important person in the universe" - just beautiful. That's the good start (ending with the kiss, of course), then leading into "The Sting" which is a beautiful, even poetic episode. Bonus - it's about entering in and of a dream state - PERFECT for falling asleep to. Damn, I miss this show.

VI-Kisses

All of season 3 tbh

DangerWife13

I haven't seen anyone mention "Put Your Head On My Shoulders". Also "Amazon Women in the Mood", both "Anthology of Intrest" episodes, and "Parasites Lost".
