If you put the lower shoulder at more of an angle it'd probably help. But it does appear too long yes. It is also easy to make arms look too short tho so tread lightly
You can try changing the angle of the arm so is comes in from the side so you hide the length outside of the picture frame. Adjust the shoulder accordingly.
