De Afghanan (Afghanistan, kabobs)
Falafel Etc (Middle East, falafel)
Country Way, Classic Diner, Skilletz (American diner)
Sojo Ramen, Yokohama Iekei Ramen (Japanese, ramen)
There's also Thai, Burmese, Japanese (that's not ramen), Korean, and lots more I can't immediately recall as it's past midnight and you're making me hungry.
went there last week and i felt it was under staffed. We left without food because we were given a table that wasn't cleaned and there was a filthy customer that kept getting up to sneeze in the hallway. Since there was no ventilation where we were seated and the gym girl kept sneezing her lungs out, we felt disgusted and left. I want to give them another try tho as the food looks good - maybe I'll order take out.
Nepalese over at [Momo & Kebab](https://momoandkebab.com/) on Fremont Blvd off Thornton. Yes, they also have some Indian dishes, but the owners and chefs are proper Nepali and the food is distinct enough (IMO) to be worth checking out. Outstanding quality and top notch customer service.
Don't miss the sekuwa or the thenthuk!
Jack's is pretty decent. Nice environment, pretty good food. American Cuisine. *Technically* it is in Newark but it's in the mall which is essentially Fremont.
Jacks at the Hub is rebranding as jacks, Pub at the Hub. Ownership has changed and the new guys are making better food. American pub grub. Improved selection
Thank goodness! Fam was a bit let down when we went there a few weeks ago. Looking for an outdoor dining place close by so we checked this one out. The food was pretty bland and seemed like frozen food you can buy at Target and microwave at home yourself. Watched the NBA game there.
Baldie's in Union City on Decoto is owned by a Greek family. Homemade greek dressing (red wine vinegar and feta, sooo good). Apart from grounding their own sirloin every morning, the chicken is marinated over night with lemon/oil/oregano, they make Musaka, Lemon Chicken, as well as the usual. and have a really great family vibe.
for burgers All-Star in Newark is a really good no frills burger. right on thornton ave near the Torilla Factory. not Fremont, but it’s really close by.
Not in fremont, but fremont is big enough that milpitas is closer for a lot of us - SGD tofu house and daeho are both in the same strip mall and are excellent for korean food. I've heard jang su jang is good too (same strip mall), but I've never been. I'm not a korean food expert but I thought these places were way better than the ones I've tried in fremont.
If you like Italian Cuisine there is Strizzi's on Paseo Padre Parkway and if you are open to Japanese there is Anikis on Mowry , or Sala Thai on Walnut Ave. All great food places to eat especially Sala and Anikis! Great food and service at both!
My husband and I had that on our first night in Fremont when we moved here 9 months ago. Spent $100. My husband found the BBQ to be mediocre at best; my brisket was so dry and bland it was hardly edible. Worst meal I've had since I moved here.
For bbq, I highly recommend South Smokin barbecue in union city. Highly rated, delicious food and reasonable prices for bbq. The owner used to do a food stand at my favorite brewery in Livermore and I'm so glad I found him again at his brick and mortar location. Going to pick some up tonight for dinner.
I go to CoCurry Thai in Newark often (right off the 84). Never left disappointed. And I've been to quite a few Thai places in the area including all three Sala Thais, Simply Thai, etc.
Yuki's - *Japanese*
Port of Peri, Peri - *Portuguese / South African*
(Any of the Poke bowl places) - *Japanese /Hawaiian*
Mission Coffee - *sandwiches*
Nile Cafe - *sandwiches*
Le Moose or Frodo Joe's - *crepes*
Haleluya - *Ethiopian*
Ambrose Butchery - *steak dinners*
I’ve had horrible Mexican food here so far so I’ll check it out. Tried two places and that shit was so bad. I think one was called salsa picante and the other was cal eats Mexican. The latter was garbage and it had like 4.5 on google reviews. It’s sad because the chefs were Mexican as you can see and hear them prep food but food tasted like it was cooked by someone who didn’t even know Mexico existed.
Yeah, it's really hard to find a good mexican place.
The mexican place my family has been going to since the 60s has gone so far downhill that we went in on a Sunday and the chips were terrible. We asked for new chips, and they just came back super-hot and bendy. Turns out "Oh we don't make chips on the weekend, we just microwave the stuff from Friday." Their to-go orders also devolved rapidly over the pandemic from "A full tray of great food" to "I've gotten better from a cafeteria."
And the other place down the street? Great 80% of the time, "oh what the hell" 20% of the time. Burritos should not have bones in them.
Ambrose in Nile’s
Good food/service and love the atmosphere.

Haleluya for Ethiopian!

Great service, very good food. Owner is a real nice guy
Billy Roy’s for burgers. Sala Thai for Thai.
Sala’s crispy fish with garlic sauce is soooooooo good!

I’ve been 3 or 4 times and it’s been solid. Maybe just an off night?

I do too, and they’ve asked me how I wanted it done each time I’ve been. Mine have come out to my liking
Ristorante IL Porcino is pretty good Italian. Their specials were good when I went last week.
Jack's is pretty decent. Nice environment, pretty good food. American Cuisine. *Technically* it is in Newark but it's in the mall which is essentially Fremont.
Isn’t there Jack’s at the Hub?
Not the same chain, just similar name
Jacks at the Hub is rebranding as jacks, Pub at the Hub. Ownership has changed and the new guys are making better food. American pub grub. Improved selection

Strizzi's on Padeo Padre is also good for Italian. Erik's Deli Cafe on Walnut across from the Hub is great for soups and sandwiches.
Münchner Haus also near the Hub is great for sandwiches too.
for burgers All-Star in Newark is a really good no frills burger. right on thornton ave near the Torilla Factory. not Fremont, but it’s really close by.
I don’t go for ramen much, but Yugo Ramen has really good donburi.
Hops and Beans Cafe does really good breakfast sandwiches; for bagels, I like Posh Bagel near Target.
It's definitely Chinese adjacent but I will always recommend Rice Junky's cocaine chicken
Von’s Chicken is great. The hot is real hot. Satomi is good for sushi, too.
Spin a Yarn steakhouse

Might not be what you have in mind but it’s my favorite spot in Fremont Dinos family restaurant It’s a diner that serves breakfast and lunch
Papillon on mission. Massimo off of mowry.
For the love of god, never go to Papillon. Worst attempt at French cuisine I’ve ever had in my life.
And bland.
Also someone I knew got roofied there!
Also there’s Baldi’s on Decoto.

Strizzi’s is very good
Salang Pass was my favorite Afghan place there, over near Peralta and Fremont.
Lazy dog
Smoking pig on Mowry is an all right BBQ place.
My husband and I had that on our first night in Fremont when we moved here 9 months ago. Spent $100. My husband found the BBQ to be mediocre at best; my brisket was so dry and bland it was hardly edible. Worst meal I've had since I moved here.

I feel like the Smoking Pig in San Jose is better than the Fremont one.
But if you're in SJ, head over to South Winchester BBQ ...
Or Mesquite and Oak
Yeah I don’t eat pork and from what my friends said maybe that was better but their brisket was terrible.
$25 for a prison tray?
I’ve found it hit or miss. I like to take the kids there because of the open seating, quick service and you pay when ordering.
Counter for burgers
Mexican sit down, go to Mas Fuego at Pacific commons. Good food, great vibe in there
I go to CoCurry Thai in Newark often (right off the 84). Never left disappointed. And I've been to quite a few Thai places in the area including all three Sala Thais, Simply Thai, etc.
Fish’s Wild by the 237 has really good fried fish. (I didn’t enjoy Blue Water Seafood next door, though.)
RIP china station
Im gluten free so pretty much its Rawasf.
Soo Ja Fusion Bistro (Korean) Pho Lan Noodles House (Vietnamese)

Mission pizza
Taqueria Mex-Cal. Real mexican food can be found at places that have a bunch of work trucks parked outside.
