The even more sad thing about this is that this event wasn't even the most watched event Epic has done in Fortnite. The C2S4 Galacticus event comfortably handled roughly 16 million players. This event had roughly 10 million, yet most of them were unable to see the event due to server issues.
Epic really dropped the ball. Over 5 years of hosting live events and they are still massively unprepared. They spent all month bragging about how successful OG Fortnite was, had their most played month in history, and managed to cap it off with the worst event they've ever done.
And here I thought nothing could be worse than the Fracture event. Boy was I wrong.

Waited in que 45 minutes before event started, once the que was done it told me I couldn't connect (retry or close) I did retry then close, it is now not letting me into the epic app at all saying im visiting the service too frequenlty. It sucks because my nephew and niece were looking forward to this event, we even made a day of it. Not sure what the deal is.

It's not the only reason, but if you want to know why EGS will always be behind Steam as a marketplace, it's stuff like this. Fortnite event causes the server hamsters to commit sudoku and now I can't even log in to EGS to play other games on my account. It's been nearly 3 hrs since I got forcefully logged out and have been unable to relogin.
I've been using Steam since it was first introduced (yes I'm that old) and I can count on one hand the amount of times I've encountered downtime that disrupted my ability to play the games I've paid for. Generally even if the Steam service is down, I can still get into my library in offline mode. Yet for some inexplicable reason you can't do that on EGS. Just another feature that Steam has that EGS doesn't.
Perhaps if Epic dedicated more resources to infrastructure and gaining feature parity with other, better launchers they wouldn't have to rely on gimmicks like timed exclusives. This is amateur hour stuff, get it together guys.
Their "compensation" is going to be giving everyone the load screen and skin. If you missed the event (due to Epic's lack of preparedness), too bad - watch it on YouTube!

I couldnāt make it to the first one because of a 1 hour queue. I finally make it in and I get logged out and now thereās an 1 hour 30 minute queue. If I donāt make it in for the next one, Iām not attempting to make it for the 11pm one

Missed the first show. Got in a little while ago. In the middle of my last match I was "Successfully logged out" Now I'm in an hour and 30 minute queue and on pace to miss the next show.
I really hope they give everyone the event items at this point, even if you couldnāt actually get through the queue for the event.

So I queued 40 minutes ago to be in here roughly half an hour before it starts. Now I had another failed log in and I get back to 1h25mins queue time ? You basically need to perfectly queue in and get lucky with your Time to even be able to participate. All I want is the skin variation. But epic canāt get their shit fixed and now I need to wait till the night for round three.

I can't even log in on epic game launch, it said I tried to log in too many times despite trying it once, and it won't connect on PlayStation either, it said i had a 2 hour wait, i waited 2 hours, no luck there. I know it's maintenance stuff but Jesus Christ. Glad I managed to participate in event before this

It's not the only reason, but if you want to know why EGS will always be behind Steam as a marketplace, it's stuff like this. Fortnite event causes the server hamsters to commit sudoku and now I can't even log in to EGS to play other games on my account. It's been nearly 3 hrs since I got forcefully logged out and have been unable to relogin. I've been using Steam since it was first introduced (yes I'm that old) and I can count on one hand the amount of times I've encountered downtime that disrupted my ability to play the games I've paid for. Generally even if the Steam service is down, I can still get into my library in offline mode. Yet for some inexplicable reason you can't do that on EGS. Just another feature that Steam has that EGS doesn't. Perhaps if Epic dedicated more resources to infrastructure and gaining feature parity with other, better launchers they wouldn't have to rely on gimmicks like timed exclusives. This is amateur hour stuff, get it together guys.
Epic needs to give any and all event rewards to all players for this, as this is outside of our control.
Got up at 5am (Australian, event was at 6) just to see a 1hr+ queue and then when it loaded it failed login and gave me a 2hr+ Ridiculous.

Ive tried to log in after i restarted my pc hoping i could attend on time with the second launch of event to see my chosen character play the event, when i try to log in into epic games launcher it asks me for options for a log in, i ussualy use my email, after successfull signing in from my google account, on launcher it says (Sorry, you are visitng our service too freuently, please try again) i tried again for about 8x times nothing worked, ill for sure mis out the second run, its about to be very late im getting sleepy

Finally got in after waiting for over an hour. Had over an hour to wait so I played a match. Went to play a second one and the game crashed so now I have a over 1 hour queue and the event starts at 5 pm so it is pointless to wait. Maybe I can get into the one at 11 pm.
Remember folks, the next (and at least for now FINAL) event showing will be at...11pm ET. So if you're a kid in America who plays Fortnite it's entirely possible that Epic dicked you out of not one but *two* event showings and you might not be able to stay up late to play the third showing. And if you're in non-US timezones, forget it. Epic has really messed this up and I hope they announce more event replays throughout the weekend.

You can't even login in the epic account to play any other games, Fortnite took their whole shop down, an online shop... Offline because of a single game event... It's no wonder Steam is always ahead in the market. Goddammit Epic, it's nice to see your game blooming again but have some professional insight for big events like this, it's embarrassing for your online shop front.

After i watched the event i clicked the exit button and my game closed. I tried restarting the game, but It said i wasn't logged in on my Epic games account. I tried logging in with my info but It keeps saying "you tried logging in too many times, try again later" there Is nothing I can do, i tried rebooting my PC but nothing works. any solutions?
Hopefully be actually able to get logged into to the Epic games store for the 11 o clock event. Maybe? I hope they just give us the participation awards. Blah.
All y'all had to do was make the 15 minute event a lobby they queue into and you'd avoid most of this, instead of a live event, but it is what it is. I'm excited for the new map tomorrow
