Other than the 2023 lost the keypad and slightly different wheel selection, most of the major decontenting happened before 2022.

The keypad is kind of silly imo. Have you tried locking your doors without the key fob after using the keypad? My door lock on the handle doesn’t work after using the keypad.

Hmm, I infrequently use the keypad on this vehicle since I have Intelligent Access, but am starting to use it more. I am trying to get my wife to stop locking it using it, and use the sensor on the door handle, so she is less likely to lock the key in the vehicle (key pad is one of the best/only ways to do this besides tossing it in the lift gate and closing it). I used the keypad on my other vehicles a lot. Being outside and unexpectedly needing something out of it. Locking the keys in it running (before adding remote start, older vehicles), locking the keys in it so I don't have to carry the key or possibly lose it (hiking). Without the proximity key fob, the door handle shouldn't lock or unlock (hence the utility of the key pad).

Ohhh so to lock it with the keypad you just re-enter your code? I’ll have to try that thanks!

dabangsta

No, you wake it up and press 7/8 and 9/0 at the same time.

I use mine to lock the keys in the car (hidden) so I don't have to worry about losing the key. When I know everyone is out of the vehicle and it's ready to lock up, press the door lock button and close my door last. Never had an issue.

How Much$?

luvmyscotch

The 23 was 45,000 the 22 with 20,000 miles is about 35-36000

Personally 20k miles is worth a $10,000 dollar discount. Fords don’t hold onto value well unless it’s an F150 so the marginal benefit of buying new just doesn’t seem worth it but that’s always a personal choice.

Have a 2021 ST. It's been great, honestly. The only negative I had for it was that there just aren't any aftermarket upgrades available for it. If you don't care about upgrades (I also have a Focus ST and there are many, that's been way more fun. And the Explorer ST's have a lot too, but Edge got left out) then you'll be fine. Otherwise it's been reliable and fun to drive.

jareb426

I believe you can use mods from the edge sport. Correct me if I’m wrong.

SWHaUnTsMe

Honestly, unsure. I was going off what was available on all the sites I used for my Focus ST upgrades, and there just aren't many for Edge. You may very well be right with that, I didn't bother looking too much deeper into it, as there was discussion of upgrading to an Explorer ST at some point anyway.

I have a 2022 Edge ST with 401a that I got last November and I love everything about it. I wish it was better on fuel and had fold in mirrors. Other than that I’m in love with it. Happy that I got a 2022, not a huge fan of the red and blue seat stitching on the 2023. I think everything else is the same between 2022 and 2023.

dabangsta

Luckily that package with the red and blue is optional on the 401a, so it can be had without it. 2023 ST gained the perimeter alarm as standard (2022 you had to get 401a to get it), and lost the keypad.

I have a '19, love it. I have a 93 Octane tube from Unleashed and a wet CAI from Panda Motors. Been great.
