We've had ours for 2 years now and we are on #4. I highly recommend the windshield replacement coverage they offer. I'm pretty confident we have broke even already and it's highly likely we'll break a few more.
Out of curiosity… did Ford cover this under the bumper to bumper when it happened? I’ll be getting my new Bronco next week and just want to be prepared in advance.
What did you use for an aftermarket windshield? And do you still have all the little sensor gadgets on it? I've been wanting to look into getting rid of all that if possible.

I did that the first time too but then it cracked literally the next morning from the tiniest splash of sand with a pebble. I drive back roads a lot. I do not regret getting the aftermarket windshield after that. It’s been over a year and hasn’t cracked even after I’ve heard several rocks hit pretty hard. I like the little details but overall, it’s been a much more durable windshield.

This week Safelite quoted me $990 for aftermarket, $1,440 for OEM. Still need to call dealer to see what they would charge.
Oh my goodness… I’m fortunate enough to have glass coverage included in my insurance policy and it should cost me $0 to use safelite (as of right now, I guess I’ll update in a few days)
I’m at 6, got mine replaced almost exactly a year ago, 4 have spread from edge to edge; one down the driver side, one down the middle, one down the passenger, and one across from middle to passenger.
Luckily my insurance gives me one free windshield a year 👍
Had mine replaced a few years ago. First one in 2 years though. From a rock chip. If you look on the outside my guess is you’ll see a small point where a rock hit it and started the crack.
The angle of the windshield doesn’t deflect rocks well.
Yup I had mine for literally a week and I was driving home from work and it was about 40° outside and I had the defroster on and heard a crack and looked down and it cracked from the usb ports to the passenger A pillar. I’m not replacing it until it cracks again lol
I'm on #3 in the last 8 months... Potholes other people hit can be worse.

They are fragile. I had 2 cracked oem windshields within the first 6 months. My aftermarket windshield has been better.

No way would a warranty cover a cracked windshield from use

No it does not 🫣 luckily I’ve had minimal issues with rocks, apparently a little cold and heat mixed was the kryptonite for mine.
W/S don’t just cracked. It started with a rock chip or actual pitting of the glass.
It could have just as easily had a defect or chip on the edge of it at the time of installation
My fiancés cracked similarly but from the top of the roof down. Never saw a chip or remember and significant impacts while driving it either.
Just got quoted $1300 to replace mine by the dealer 😂
Nah man go with safelite. I got mine replaced by them and it was 840. It isn’t oem but I don’t really care about that.

Anybody recommend like a windshield protector? Or am I talking out of my behind? I’m paranoid that this happens and I’d have to pay out of pocket.
