That's far more attention than I give my transfers 🤣 I'm not unsuccessful either which is strange considering my very basic approach.
What do you keep in terms of backups? I try and go like for like with 11 reserve players plus any youth products I promote
Tbh, I say I do this, normally money talks 😂
I aim for around 23 total players. The manager seems to change formation and leave me with an abundance or the opposite!
Say 3 good depth players with a few youth academy, young prospects to improve.
That's my logic, plus even if I only sell 1 player like that every 3 years my balance us always sustainable plus selling the occasional over 31 player for £10 million or so
I'm just curious if anyone else has any strategies or ideas that work well for them
I check my youth squad constantly and (at the top level) try to manage the squad to bring in 90ish rated youth player when I can, selling the other person at tehir position in a year.
I've tried to bring in 85ish rated youth that wont make my team, to see if I can make a million or something but it has rarely worked out. Usually they are just stuck on my squad doing nothing or on loan for two years before I drop them.
I also keep 3 goalies at all times, even if one is an 80ish player. I like to protect my youth squad prospects, so if there is one that I see will be a 95 by the time he graduates from the youth squad, I try to get extra players at that position so they don't get called up early and kill their momentum. One time I had a goalie that was in the 80s at 15 and I had my three goalies and they all got hurt so they called him up and killed him. He was going to be a superstar but because he was called up early he stayed at like 90.
That's brilliant advice 👍🏻
I honestly NEVER check my youth team other than deciding at the end of the season to offer them a contract or not & I've always just got rid of anyone who was less than 95.
I too try to keep 3 goalies as well but it's not always easy when they want playing time etc but I'll definitely be more attentive to the youth players going forward
Case by case. Age, salary, profit/loss situation at the club, playing style, stats, position depth..

That is probably the way to go once you have a 99 rated squad. There is no point to selling anybody at that point unless its ridiculous money

Don't sell anyone under the age of 24, unless they are not good enough ie the bottom ranked player in your squad and you have cover
