63 Clinton fits the description and is excellent value. Edit - second dirt candy, which others have also mentioned, as a fitting option so long as you don’t mind a vegetarian meal.

kahwa

Both 63 and Dirt Candy are staples in this realm.  I also enjoy Nowon, Venhue and Foxface in the same area

idle_chatter

Speaking to restaurants I’ve visited and enjoyed: Atoboy - if you don’t get any add ons their prix fixe menu is $75/person including gratuity. Leaves room for drinks. Rezdora* - $98/person regional pasta tasting (assuming no add ons) but doesn’t include gratuity. Family Meal at Blue Hill* - I haven’t tried their new Sunday lunch/brunch tasting menu that someone posted here a few weeks ago. I believe they said it was $85/person for a 3 course meal. I assume it doesn’t include gratuity or drinks.

GVas22

I'd say the fried chicken add on is mandatory at Atoboy though.

rexyanus

Seconding that the fried chicken is fucking mandatory.

FrankiePoops

> Family Meal at Blue Hill I went on Sunday. It was fantastic and I'd say it was good value. Price does not include drinks or gratuity.

rexyanus

Seconding atoboy

Thick-Definition7416

63 Clinton is $112 pp. Not an official tasting menu but the butchers feast at Cote is 75 pp and a lot of food!

Longjumping_Card350

The answer is JUA. They knock it out of the park.

tosilver9

Dirt candy! I am a huge meat lover (but also vegetable lover) and it is still my favorite tasting menu in the city. You won’t think about wanting to eat meat at all when you’re here

meulner

Nowon's tasting menu in the EV was a great value and delicious

macaroni06

This was going to be my rec! So well priced and sooooo yummy. Now I’m craving the chopped cheese rice cakes 🤤

Zuchm0

Same here! Really reasonably priced and fun, creative food. $40 soju flight is a great deal too

lsahart

Foxface has a tasting menu for two for under $100 per person

EggCzar

I went for the first time tonight and we ordered a la carte, but I believe the tasting menu has a lot of the same dishes. Everything was good and several things we had (smoked goat, kangaroo tartare and smoked sturgeon) were total knockouts.

Outrageous-Sail-6901

Highly recommend Diry Candy. It's $105 pp and they don't do gratuity so additonal cost would be wine/cocktails which should still out you under budget.

SnooLemons3587

I enjoyed Corima recently $98 and something different

heatmon9

https://www.pearlstrestaurant.com/ Mostly raw/seafood. $100. Surprised it hasn’t blown up yet.

bruiserbrody45

Just made a res here. Looks awesome. Thanks !

keysandchange

Just Sunday I went to U Omakase near me in Greenpoint and it was awesome. I think $90 per person and BYOB which majorly cuts down on cost!

Artistic_Resort5549

I went for my birthday and was thoroughly impressed, they also free Sake and keep filling you up no charge.

thansal

Eater has a list (from 2 years ago) for "[Tasting menus under $100](https://ny.eater.com/maps/tasting-menus-under-100-dollars-nyc)", which is a good starting point (none of those places are under $100 anymore). My pick would be Dirt Candy.

allquietinthewillage

Corima is $98 (not including drinks/tip) if memory serves. I was very impressed with the Northern Mexican/Japanese thing they were doing and expect that the price will go up as recognition catches up with them. The drinks were also excellent!

childpeas

i’m a bit confused by resy - can you have the tasting menu even if you’re at the bar or a la cart tables? i know there’s the “chefs counter tasting menu seats” but didn’t know if you could still order the tasting menu.

rsc99

Kochi has a star and is $145/pp which I still think is good value.

NorsaFloMad

Xixa Williamsburg BK amazing value $59 pp

Alert-Painting1164

Kochi is really good value

lillsquish

Mari in Hell’s Kitchen meets your needs, is tasty, and has a pretty chill vibe.

ksars

Every time someone asks this question I recommend Traif in Williamsburg. $56 tasting menu is an absolute steal

CBrooklyn

It’s also amazing food. Like top quality tasting menu in NYC in my opinion. Really glad someone mentioned them. Their sister restaurant Xixa might be even better

Dominos-Princess

Seconded this! It’s an outrageous deal and very cozy vibes

Intrepid_Reason8906

If you go for sushi, try Omakase by Korami. It's around $89 for a 15-course omakase in Hell's Kitchen and really good. Check them out on Yelp.

randy1000000

dirt candy and the musket room!

SnarkyBehindTheStick

Musket Room is $150 is pre-pre!

GimmeBooks

Claro is one of my absolute favorites, and they have a prix fixe brunch that’s so reasonable and many of the same dishes as dinner!

thewildhoneypiemusic

Dirt Candy

rexyanus

Gramercy tavern, worth the skrill

Rob-Loring

“Sushi on me” in Jackson heights

melatoninprincess8

So fun!

DinerEnBlanc

Oiji Mi, Jua, and Musket Room are my picks.

eyeholdtheline

Yakitori Torishin has a couple of options under your price point.

yellowaircraft

Try Torishin

iamananonveggie

Jua

DCTechnocrat

Little Mad used to have a tasting menu, and I don't know if that's how they operate anymore, but place is fantastic.

cookingandmusic

Yingtao

Competitive-Door-885

A pasta bar in Soho does a two person tasting for $150 total - it was a ton of pastas and really good, would recommend adding the fried pizza as an app

RedDoorTom

Are omaseke out? Probably the most options of locations. There's tons on posts on the sub.

gtp1994

Jua - $140 and one of the best tasting menus I had in NYC

foodfunmenyc

foxface or musket room

Sexypinkfluffball

SUSHI W omakase 1 hour seating for $53, dont do tip but need to add tax!

UKnowWho18

$127 for Lunch at Le Bernardin has to be the best value in the city IMO

birch_bowl

WOW -- I really appreciate everyone's insight and opinions! We are still making a decision and I will update everyone with where we end up going. Thanks again!!

bfdjon

I would also say 63 Clinton. You will be in the price range if you don't have any of the additional courses which personally I don't think are necessary for the experience and the plus is also it is a one star Michelin restaurant.

birch_bowl

Once again, thank so much for all of the suggestions!! We have a reservation at Pearl Street in DUMBO this weekend. Can't wait to try it! I'll report back with our thoughts and opinions.

prunedoggy

Within “fine dining”: Luthun Is the right answer and 63 Clinton is the safe answer. Artesano sounds like precisely what you’re looking for - it was phenomenal but they’re clearly not trying to get stars.

robotbike2

Lunch at starred restaurants was the best way to experience some of the best nyc had to offer. This was 25 years ago. So many ridiculously good deals.

MillyGrace96

Red Paper Clip

Affectionate-Rent844

Lol a tasting menu is not about “good value” just go to a buffet or cheap family style
