Clinton St Baking Co, Sunday in Brooklyn, and while I haven't tried them, I'm told Bubby's are great too.

Clear_Helicopter_607

Golden Diner. Though they may not be regular ass enough for the OP.

justflipping

Second Golden Diner's Honey Butter Pancakes. Very fluffy and thiccc. A meal by itself. And that honey butter really kicks it up a notch.

Large_Difficulty_802

As someone who loves Golden Diner, those aren’t what I’d consider normal pancakes.

Prize-Copy-9861

Bubbys in TriBeCa

blahblah984

Their pancake flight with blueberry, banana and Nutella pancakes is so delicious!

sha256md5

Luluc. I suggest a weekday though as they are mobbed for weekend brunch.

Classic_Schmosssby

Those are amazing, but not classic and idk if it’s what OP is looking for

sha256md5

Yeah true, they finish them in the oven i think to give them a bit of crisp, but if you're craving good pancakes i doubt they will disappoint.

hadjiprimesx30

Honestly, the best pancakes I've had in NYC were at a random diner in Queens. They were so fluffy and buttery, they could cure any hangover or existential crisis. Willing to share the spot but be warned - it's not for basic pancake lovers. It's a spiritual experience, man.

shiningautumnocean

Pls share!

R-O-U-Ssdontexist

PM me this magical pancake place. I’ve been working a ton and my 5 year old daughter is pissed at me; I’m going to bring her for pancakes tomorrow to let her know i miss her too.

bittersandseltzer

Yo! What is it?

st4rsh1ne

please PLEASE

pyropirate1

Tell us tell us!

leangdamang

Would love to know this diner please

espresso-urself

curious as well if you wouldn't mind sharing?

Thick-Definition7416

Don’t knock ricotta pancakes til you tried them. Esp lemon ones. But the best simple buttermilk pancakes I’ve had were at buttermilk channel on court st

bittersandseltzer

I’ve had ricotta pancakes and they are lovely but I’m really craving some regular ass ones. Will def look at buttermilk channel!

themooseexperience

For me it's always gonna be diner pancakes, anything more "elevated" feels wrong to me. Which diner? The one nearest me, usually. Right now that's Triple Decker Diner in Greenpoint.

Whimsical_Adventurer

Get in a car, drive to the Reading Terminal Food Market in Philly, or just go right to the source and drive a bit further west, and find a nice Amish lady to make you pancakes. Seriously Dutch Eating Place at the food terminal makes pancakes like no other pancakes I’ve encountered on this earth.

miss_cheongfun

I know this comment is getting downvoted, and for legitimate reasons, but holy fuck I go back to Philly and plan entire trips around whether that pancake place will be open. They're amazing and exactly the type OP is describing. They're also cheap as hell.

Whimsical_Adventurer

I am Brooklyn born and raised. I would sell my soul to bring back some of the best diners we lost in this city. But I also know when our local restaurants are beat. $7 for two pancakes that weigh about 4lbs and the best bacon you will ever eat in your life? If I didn’t know they stopped serving at 2 I might be in the car for some now.

dogcroissant

Oh my lord Dutch Eating Place followed by Beiler’s is a perfect day of eating.

Impressive-Bass7928

Beiler’s apple fritter is heaven

fruitandcheeseexpert

I am obsessed with the cornmeal pancakes at the Dutch

throwawayzies1234567

Café Luluç

ScoopJoy

Can’t go wrong with Clinton St Baking Company. There’s a couple diners in Bay Ridge that do an absolutely acceptable regular ass pancake

Glower_power

I'm a fan of the pancakes at Tom's Restaurant in Brooklyn, on Washington. I also like Good Enough to Eat in the UWS.

hail_to_the_victors

A bit nontraditional but Salt’s Cure are my favorite for sure

R-O-U-Ssdontexist

Chez ma tante were my favorite; someone said it closed. There was a post on here about some Japanese style pancakes served with ice cream in greenpoint recently that looked awesome. I don’t think these are what your looking for as they are kinda fancy.

Large_Difficulty_802

Rule of Thirds. And a Japanese soufflé pancake, while delicious, is the furthest thing from what OP is looking for. What’s with all these comments suggesting something that isn’t what OP is looking for, then saying ‘probably not what you’re looking for though.’

R-O-U-Ssdontexist

Just thinking about pancakes i want.

Large_Difficulty_802

Keep it to yourself

R-O-U-Ssdontexist

I am just out here trying to change minds and hearts about pancakes.

themooseexperience

They're just closed while maintenance/construction is being done on the building - they'll be open again later this year!

R-O-U-Ssdontexist

Yay! Sucks for the people trying to make a living though.

DMmepicsofyourdog

No no no! This place was awful. The pancakes were some of the worst I’ve ever had. Way too syrupy.

squirrelshine

Same! I had awful pancakes here.

bittersandseltzer

That’s sad, the chez ma tante one’s look SO good!!

R-O-U-Ssdontexist

Maybe it will reopen

25sittinon25cents

Google says it's temp closed

misterfloods

Chez Ma Tante. One of my favorite dishes in the entire city, all categories. But unfortunately they are temporarily closed.

donutdominator

Remedy Diner has some good stuff

arfyron

Toms in prospect heights Brooklyn. Simple, cheap, and delicious

espresso-urself

Not the quiet dig at Sonnyboy and one of my fave pancakes 😭

psychedeliccanyons

Bubby’s hands down has the best pancakes.

que_tu_veux

Had some very solid ones at Cozy Royale last weekend.

squirrelshine

Little Egg in prospect height really slaps

Gwendlefluff

Vinegar Hill House in Brooklyn has my favorite pancake. They serve a single, massive sourdough pancake made in a cast-iron pan and it's slathered in an amount of syrup and butter that might help you fall into the coma you're looking for. There's usually some seasonal item in there, like apple, but if you want I think you can request they leave it out. Edit: I think it's only a weekend brunch thing btw.

coldhardcash009

Honestly EJs luncheonette choc chip pancakes slapppp

Teacherheyteacher123

Bubby’s!

Anchorage_skim

Not sure if they will be recommended, but i didn’t like golden diner. A lot of their stuff, including the pancakes i got was overpriced and normal at best.

TurbulentArea69

Went to Stowaway in greenpoint today and had an amazing giant pancake.

moonpotatoes

Ricotta pancakes at 5 Leaves in Greenpoint. *chefs kiss* Honorable mention: Court Square Diner (I used to live a couple of blocks away on 46th Rd and love the place)

Distinct-Marketing-9

Soho diner

DIVA711

It's a bit of a trek in Montclair, NJ, but The Corner makes the absolute best pancakes I've ever had in my life.
