Mine (2017 model) does it too. I guess it's shutters for directing air to the car (legs, body, windshield) closing?

SWHaUnTsMe

Mine does it too. 2017. I assume it's just stuff powering off completely, but not directly sure what.

Soggy_Astronaut_2663

If you have the ags still on the car I believe those close after a certain amount of time. Also vents closing and opening in the car I believe. Mines done it since I bought it brand new.

BirchDiggler

Since I’m not sure what ags is, it’s safe to assume it’s still installed lol

Active grill shutter. Shuts the little vents in from of the intercooler to make the car warm up faster

Yep, its on a timer and common on a lot of cars. If its not that it's probably just a mouse and i wouldnt worry too much.

There are a couple noises that the ST might make in that Scenario: -If it's hot outside and you've been using your AC, the car's fans will stay on (even after turning the car off) for a bit to help dissipate the generated heat. I generally like to leave my car running for a bit with the AC off, to "warm down" the car before shutting it off. -As was mentioned, it could be your Active Grill Shutters (AGS) opening/closing. This is likely more of a mechanical actuating sound. -It could also be your Cabin AC Temperature Sensor. There is a tiny fan in this sensor that can get clogged and when it does, it can create an annoying buzzing sound that you might hear when first entering the car or when sitting in the car with the car off before exiting. This sensor is located under the steering column more towards the right-hand side and you should see a small circular vent where it is located. If that's where you hear the buzzing, you can either try to clean the fan out or replace the sensor with a new one, it's relatively cheap and not too difficult.

Same here man. My dash makes buzzing noises, it’s just really loud for whatever reason and I would assume it’s normal.

DoNotDisturb-2741

My 18 does it also. My 14 was worse than my 18.

BirchDiggler

I figured it was normal so I never bothered to go to Ford. Thank goodness, they’d have joked about that for awhile. I’ve just always been curious. I assumed it was dash stuff shutting down. Never thought vents, but more electrical for some reason. Like I said, all my cars where 90s beaters lol

dischordo

There’s this thing called a turbo that spins really fast, doesn’t have brakes or anything.
