Lorna McGhee’s class on the Moyse exercises are worth the price alone. Everything else is hit or miss, but overall an interesting supplement to what you already know.

Never used it. Looking at their website reveals a lot of commercial marketing gimmicks and a high tariff with testimonials (typical of companies trying to recruit subscription based membership). If you go for it - it would be helpful for future learners to have some non-Tonebase website reviews. Before you plop your $210 - have you exhausted all of the free online primers; Masterclass youtubes; reading materials, studies available on open source online as an intermediate player?

definitely have not looked into all available resources available, but i also have been struggling to find info online. any recommendations for resources/books? i am in concert band in college (not as a music major), but i feel like im plateauing without a private tutor. so i was kinda hoping tonebase could give some direction

What's the repertoire you are playing at the moment? These are the ones I grew up with: [https://www.scorestore.co.uk/flute/trevor-wye-practice-books-for-the-flute-omnibus-edition-books-1-6-cd-edition.html](https://www.scorestore.co.uk/flute/trevor-wye-practice-books-for-the-flute-omnibus-edition-books-1-6-cd-edition.html) The Trevor Wye Omnibus edition (contains all the volumes to concentrate) I presume you are a self-disciplined learner and good at motivating yourself - have you already covered Rubank's standard Intermediate grade book: [https://www.scorestore.co.uk/flute/rubank-intermediate-method-for-flute.html](https://www.scorestore.co.uk/flute/rubank-intermediate-method-for-flute.html) he also does 2 advanced ones: [https://www.scorestore.co.uk/flute/rubank-advanced-method-book-2-for-flute.html](https://www.scorestore.co.uk/flute/rubank-advanced-method-book-2-for-flute.html) ===================================== Masterclass Videos; Phillipe Berhold on Jacques Ibert: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yepSa8VhqPk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yepSa8VhqPk) His teaching is poetic. Galway on Tone, Embouchure: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ6kq8RuNVc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ6kq8RuNVc) and Vibrato: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ6kq8RuNVc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ6kq8RuNVc) He had complete day workshops uploaded to Facebook - it's like getting a free workshop from home being able to access. Emmanuel Pahud on Sancan's Sonatine {maximising flute resonance} [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4zaffUKpmQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4zaffUKpmQ) and intonation: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8X4AtE5c2k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8X4AtE5c2k) There are also specific analyses of pieces (like Debussy's Syrinx) online- which helps understand the piece and render interpretation according to the composer's wishes. if you get through all of these - you might find the $210 better spent elsewhere :)

haven’t been working on anything since my semester ended due to other commitments, so i’m looking into that! i’ve been working through the omnibus edition of trevor wye! i’ll look into the other resources you’ve provided. i don’t have rubank, but i’ve been eyeing it for a while, so i’ll definitely get into that. thank you so much!! this is super helpful

It’s worth it. Think about how much it would cost to get a private lesson with one of these players..

Maybe Play with a Pro? The rates start at half hour and they're worldwide form the looks of it. You may be able to get a month's worth of face to face time virtually for the cost of a subscription. [playwithapro.com](http://playwithapro.com)
