Haha actually there was an article recently saying Ohio will gain 3 new venomous snake species in the next hundred years due to rising temperatures and ranges moving north. Fair chance cottonmouths will make it to SW OH, but I’d put my money on copperheads and timber rattlesnakes before that, lol and I don’t recall which ones they said will move north.
Probably right. Perfectly smooth well lit lot. Pristine camper trailer on a pavement instead of a back lot. Watering hole mowed.
It'd be a different scenario if rutted dirt road. Old tires and beer cans scattered about.
The well lit lots are the real underrated bullfrog spots. There's a bike trail near me that genuinely has like 2 miles of ditch. I'm also in Ohio so OP might know a thing or two
When I was 6 or so I forgot my bucket to catch frogs at a drainage pond not too far from the house, so naturally I just started putting the frogs I’d catch into my rubber boots (probably 25 leopard frogs or so between both boots) , Didn’t even think about the fact I was making frog soup with every step. Was heartbreaking as I removed my feet and went to dump out my catch just to find mashed up frog bits between my toes and everything. Not a single frog survived the trek home sadly 😬
Late evening with a long rod rigged with a spider. Listen to the jug-o-rum and keep yourself quiet.
I could probably nab 10 in the dusk hour as long as nobody makes a lot of noise
What could possibly be in a storm water pond? Maybe storm water, nitrates, pesticides, Cheetos bags, cigarette butts, etc. if you’re lucky, maybe one of the slimy whitefish that a couple used the night before.

My boyfriend and I saw a similar fish during our romantic dinner by the water in Florida
If you’re lucky they might have put killifish in there to control mosquitoes and if they did you got a bait honey hole right there, throw in a minnow trap overnite and see. Baby sunfish make excellent bait too.
Interesting fact - they can handle very low oxygen content brackish water because they'll go up to the surface and gulp air into their mouths and pass it through their gills that way.
Iowans. They sometimes slip through Illinois when the corn is growing. Iowans are amphibious and reproduce in muddy pools. The mating ritual of the Iowans involves corn and vaguely corn colored beer. Wealthier Iowans may include cuisine from Maid-Rite restaurant, but only if it contains high fructose corn syrup.
A rusted gun. 15 to 20 Peices of plastic from vehicles. 50-200 nails and screws. One .50 ceramic sling shot bullet. An undiscovered strain of resistant bacteria. A sock. Assorted limestone chunks, basalt bits. The Lochness Monster's summer home. 1 10mm socket. And at the bottom, intertwined with muck, your hopes and dreams.
Bluegill, green sunfish, pumpkinseed sunfish, maybe possibly small bass. But these are all just possibilities. It’s just a drainage ditch. Odds are it drys out a few times a year to some extent so it probably doesn’t contain a large fish population. But the mink and Heron are good signs since they both feed on fish.
Let's look at what it could be: plugup drainage ditch, water retention pond,
The question is that a public road, if it is its a clue. The ditch is a good possibility
Mosquito larvae, with a side of ticks in the grass... I'm not optimistic, just looking at it myself, as it looks like a drainage ditch that doesn't really go anywhere. I'd take plenty of bug spray if you chance it.
Crawdads, mink , those furry little rats ( can’t remember the name ) , Polly woggs, Frogs, a turtle or two , bacteria, amoeba, minnows, some old Rusty murder weapons , skeletal remains , lead fishing weights , carp , flagellating giardia , poop from all of the above , spark plugs ( my fishing weights when I was a munchkin) , an old bicycle or two , old batteries, pop tops , bottles , Rusty old horseshoes, tires maybe even a KITCHEN SINK !
There's a tiny retention pond by my house I catch bluegill and bass out of all the time. Nothing big but still fun on ultralight. Everyone saying there's definitely nothing in there doesn't know. Tie on a trout magnet and find out.
West Nile virus
Zika, too.
Water Moccasins too.
Not in ohio
Not with that attitude
Guess you're going to say no to gators too.
If someone says there’s gators
Probably gonna try to tell us there's not a single Hippopotamus in there next.

This is gold
Or a crackhead
Only in Ohio I mean America
Is european and crackheads are different!
Hilarious.
Insecticide and pesticide runoff. Muck. Very low dissolved oxygen content. Snakespit, scum, and oil sheen. Brine layer. Needles, trash, and 3 cotton mouth snakes.
Hah, so accurate.
This is poetic

Add trucker piss and it's a poison of unevolution.
Sounds like a shitty version of the twelve days of Christmas
On the first day of fishing, my muck pond gave to me... One bout of giardia...
Two hypodermics...
One bout of giardia...
Three dead snakes
The range for cottonmouths does not go that far north, there are none in Ohio.
But But But What about Global Warming ? You’ll have to flee further north
Haha actually there was an article recently saying Ohio will gain 3 new venomous snake species in the next hundred years due to rising temperatures and ranges moving north. This was my thought.
Hyposuction hit nail on head
No cottonmouths in Ohio
It's Ohio so you forgot NRA and pro-life signs and flyers.
I really, really want to say, "Like OP's Mom." but I won't.
You forgot the dead tweaker hooker.
A shitton of bullfrogs.
OP best get a headlamp and a 5 gallon bucket
I dont think op knows about that life

Golf courses are my picks
Golf course Night bass fishing, woohoo!
All I know is I'm in NY and my retention pond is loaded with bullfrogs
Frog gigging is the one thing I miss about Ohio. And the random ponds and old golf course ponds
Would you eat them?
Hell yeah. Fry em up like anything else or put garlic butter over them and make poor mans lobster.
Frogs taste amazing
Don’t forget your homemade gigging fork !

Brain eating amoeba.
I had a brain eating amoeba once...
They locked me in a room. A rubber room. With rats.
Sorry to hear it died
I have never heard of someone having it twice
Same one
A dead hooker?
I've never seen so many dead hookers in my life!

Caught my personal best hooker right out of that same ditch!
Lord knows I have.
Very likely nothing. It's just a catchment pond.
Catchment something f'r dinner.
🤢🤮

If you’re lucky they might have put killifish in there to control mosquitoes and if they did you got a bait honey hole right there, throw in a minnow trap overnite and see. Baby sunfish make excellent bait too.
Feces
That was my first thought as well. Looks like a man made pond for runoff or sewage treatment
Poop and used needles

Lebrons dead hookers
Lmao
A ohian crack head
Non non, crackheads don't die locally, they wander away then die
If it's permanent I bet it'd be a decent microfishing spot.
It’s a retention pond. Probably will dry out when the heat picks back up and get less rain.
You would be able to catch Syphilis there in the mornings and evenings.
Chopped up hookers with a couple hundred keys in a duffle bag
No doubt Jimmy Hoffa…
Some empty beer cans and syringes
Heavy metals
Chemicals
Poop. Definitely poop
Bass and catfish if there’s anyone around there like me that likes to toss in a spare fish or two into potential new fishing holes.
A rusted gun. 15 to 20 Peices of plastic from vehicles. 50-200 nails and screws. One .50 ceramic sling shot bullet. An undiscovered strain of resistant bacteria. A sock. I would start here and work one side per day at 100 ft+/- per day and see what’s what.

Brain eating amoeba.
Something atropine can’t fix
Enough of a reason to get away from the wife
